Actor Jaroslav Dušek who likes to do seminars (not in English) about spirituality and books and other health topics, said: "If you want to change someone´s mind you have to do it silently, so the ego will not be involved" Therefore he is not a fan of mass protestors, because usually, in the great mass of people use to be ego and emotions involved, and it's hard to hear the message. He is right. Even our brain focuses better on information if the ego is not involved, but make the mind silent with a few breaths to focus better. As some pointed out the ego constantly wants attention from other people. The media and television constantly want our attention. but even our own ego constantly seeks the attention of our own mind,. we may interrupt it with some breathing techniques, yoga, or sport. So if we want to focus on tasks and our relationships, we should practice empathy and gratitude, say the message silently with empathy, etc.. The prefrontal cortex is in a different place of the brain than the emotional part of the brain. Therefore people hear you clearly after their mind or emotional part of the brain is calmed down. Many people improved their relationships with empathy.

I read Eckhart’s books 15 years ago and have been listening to his talks almost daily. I even did one of his 3 day retreats overseas. This particular talk is currently my absolute favourite and I hope it gets shared widely. It’s too easy to let life get to you again and forget his teachings, while you are caught up in almost addiction (pain body) to the drama of the problems you are trying to solve. This cuts through it, sometimes only temporarily but is worth revisiting again and again. I also appreciate the interviewer letting Eckhart unfold this excellent explanation without interruption. Not so much an interview but a valuable holder of this wisdom.

Eckhart’s aura is a friendly invite in sharing of insight into mankind’s dysfunctional existence. I do have a question for the kind man, but not sure how it may reach him, there are two things happening within the self, one is clearly what you have pointed to, the chatterbox in our head’s and the other being intrinsic is our intelligence (nature) and who we are. My question is, ‘If living in the moment (now) is life, why are we being cultured to live outside of it?.’ 🤷🏻‍♂️I would be delighted to hear from Eckhart or anyone else, thank you 🙏
@LifeInsightsjk
@LifeInsightsjk Год назад
You are concerned about the central issue of life which perhaps every body face.Our minds are of dualistic nature. What Eckhart Tolle and our channel maintain is that there are not two things but only one.One part of you separates from you the other part and ask the question. It is all play of the thoughts. If you understand the thoughts then we may come to understand that.question and answer come from the same source. The reality of Life is ONE.Mind.sees it as many.What is here only is YOU.Thanks for the greater question.

Eckhart is an evil person in my opinion and a hypocrite and coward, but please let me explain some simple facts. #1 is he is worth 70 million dollars. Everyday thousands of people are dying in the world for lack of money to buy food, shelter, medicine, etc. Eckhart doesn't care about these people..or he would use some of his money to help them out. Yes, he is intelligent enough and rich enough to help. Instead...he is now offering a new course for $279...and he makes millions every year from his books, new seminars, etc. He says he has no ego basically...well, sorry he is a rich hypocrite who can't see his rich ego is so big he can't even keep enough money so he can live comfotably. Also, he is a coward since he has a cowardly spirit about him to not realize we need cops, military, etc., who take up arms to protect others. He could not hurt a fly...because he does not believe in evil. He twists his teachings to say it is the ego...and not evil that is in so many people and ways of the world. He does not address that their might be a devil and other evil spirits. Why? Because they taught him how to make millions of dollars from others in his teachings while making others immune to the evils of the world to make a stand against them. Believe in what you want...this guy is evil for his money alone...and many of his teachings are not true at all.
@godrulesme8619
@godrulesme8619 11 месяцев назад
He always speaks of there is no depression or pain in the now in this second. Not true...if anyone cut off his finger for example...he would feel pain now and in the future...and if he thinks about the incident the next day...he might feel pain from the past thoughts of it. This guy makes no sense on so many teachings,...yet, everyone praises him just like the evil Pope of the Catholic Church...who also has no courage...both hypocrites, worth millions and cowards.

Eckhart was the first teacher I was listening to many years ago now. Unfortunately his teaching couldn’t reach my completely distorted mind. Instead of getting better I felt guilty about failing to change my thinking. His story ( living as a homeless for three years, as I recall, after awakening) felt threatening to my ego, and therefore it did everything to sabotage any betterment. I listened to him, and every time I felt my current moment I was terrified. I was so depressed, I just survived and the moment was unbearable. Now, 15 years later, I did the work and now it’s very comfortable to listen to him. He is a gift for humanity but he isn’t telling the whole truth. No famous spiritual teacher does it, I assume that’s why they are so prominent. I hope he stays for many more years. Humanity needs him. ❤

Certainly every seeker of truth encounters of.many hurdles as we have also faced. Once when we came across Echkart the value and the significance of Now is understood. Our minds dwell either in the past or on the future. To be with the now needs arduous attention.We have gone through J.Krishnamurti and many others. We hope applying our intelligence can solve the problems we face in our day to day life.Thanks for the lengthy comment.

@dankestella9393 Год назад
@@aaronbutler2459 I suggest to listen to some lectures of Neville Goddard, to get a glimpse of what I mean. I cannot explain it as well as him. I am sure that Eckhart is aware of much more than he mentioning. But he keeps it simple and emphasizes the present moment, which is very wise. For me personally that wasn’t working. I had to know everything about what it actually means to be a human being. To be honest, now, that I begin to know, I sometimes would rather be ignorant of this whole thing. I would take the “blue pill”, so to say. Once you know, you know. And to know, who we are isn’t easy at all. So, be careful, what you want. It’s a big big deal.

19:24 22:24 The KEY. This is what Osho calls "centering yourself at the level of your Wiitness consciousness." It's when you realize your thoughts are actually THOUGHT FORMS, creations of the mind, rather than being actually THE mind itself. The thought forms are then the FORMATIVE POWER of the mental plane (Causal/Swaha/Sun) that work down through the plane of psychic energy (Astral/Bhuvah/Moon), and ultimately manifest on the physical plane (Material/Fire/Bhur) as your everyday experience. This is why it is said "thoughts are things" and that your "thoughts create your reality." To understand this more read the book "Tantric Yoga & the Wisdom Goddesses" by Dr. David Frawley.

If you want to learn a musical tune you can’t just learn the notes. You have to learn the spaces in-between the notes too. Without the spaces there would just be a continual tone and could be no music. Both the notes and the spaces between them are equally important and go to make up the whole. Scientists gazing out at infinite space only look at the planets and stars - all of which can only be defined by the space around them. Without the space there would be no planets or stars. We make the same mistake here on earth. We ignore the space - yet without it nothing can be defined. A cup on a table is defined by what surrounds it that is NOT the cup. The reality is that there is only The Absolute, which includes the space and that which appears to be not space. It is all one appearing as many. So to be The Absolute/The Whole/The Totality you must include in your sense of being the space around you! Try it!

I find that mone of the ideas that Eckhart espouses are original. Everything is borrowed from Buddhism, Krishnamurti, the Tao, etc. His massive commercial success as a writer was a strange, because he rarely acknowledges his lineage or sources. I suppose it is akin to Hollywood studios re-doing stories like Mad Max, Batman, etc. Every generation needs a fresh guru selling the eternal story of peace if you were just different.

Most of the times, we experience suffering because of things that happened in the past. Your example of being burnt alive is obviously a very extreme one. Most of the times in my life, the present moment is actually very very peaceful if I allow it to be, rather than being unconscious and stuck in the past or the future.

Very interesting to hear him lay out the basics after years of doing more specific talks. Interesting to see the little changes that have come in with time (not the teaching itself, just his delivery). This man saved my life in my 20s when I was suffering from terrible trauma, anger & depression. Recently, I looked into the Baha'i faith after several years of inactivity in any organized religion, and as great as it sounded, I STILL found that the principles in The Power of Now continue to ring the most true and direct spiritually. It's incredible what a gift Eckhart is, people have no idea.

I get it, i get the teachings, i really do. But the problem is that we as humans are so used to seeking outside of ourselves for help, and depending on the words of another to guide us, and so reading these books for many, many seekers actually can be more of a hindrance than anything. Millions seek for years, sometimes their entire lives, reading book after book, yet finding nothing but disillusionment. Which points to the fact that a book, and the authority involved in it, is absolutely insufficient within itself to transform anyone’s life whatsoever, in fact, it can add to their illusions even more so. The genuine state of presence, where it is a lasting, permanent state that doesn’t simply come and go, requires oneself to completely and totally reject all outside authorities of any kind. You have to stand absolutely, completely alone to find Truth, and that is what most people are afraid of- including most people who read these books.

How wonderful that he gave an interview with a small channel: it speaks to his humility and desire to pass along important teaching to everyone. Blessings to everyone.

Thanks so much. Yes my television show “Meetings with Remarkable People” is about as small as you can get (local Newfoundland, Canada program that airs on Sunday mornings). Eckhardt was incredibly generous of time and spirit. We have remained in touch! A truly gifted teacher

A book cannot show you the way to Truth. The state of inner realization of Truth is radically subjective and is not, in any way whatsoever, the product of following someone’s authority. The state of complete dissolution of the inner structure of psychological time, whereby the mind permanently comes upon the timeless and identifies with it forever, is the result of an immense inward journey whereby one must stand completely, totally alone, depending on nothing outside of oneself. And a book cannot by any means show you the way to it- if you need a book, you are not devoted.

Tolle's The Power of Now appeared in 2003. Listening to the Unknown was published in 1999. Amazing the similarities. Is it called plagiarism?
