She has always been a brilliant actress who also has an enormous amount of class to her. Holland Taylor is a brilliant human being who is never a disappointment to watch. And in life, a remarkable person.
The Practice was good before Holland Taylor, but it was amazing with her. I loved Roberta and this scene is the only that I remember after all of these years. She was just fantastic.
I didn't remember how HILARIOUS and dramatic that 'The Practice' was until I watched this clip. This was a classic clip as it related to her character.

I just have to note this observation. Watch 2:25. The opposing counselor obviously wanted more of the word porn. That was pretty clear from the way he said "and then?". The hilarity of it can only be conveyed by a top notch actor. Many comments on here says that Holland deserves an award for this scene. I completely agree, but so did the actor who played the opposing counsel.
As well acted and outrageously funny as Holland Taylor's performance is in this scene, the male actors' shocked facial reactions of disbelief are even better. As a lawyer, you know you have lost control of a deposition when this happens. LOL
Her performance was amazing. But Badalucco’s facial expressions stole the show without a word spoke. When McDermott puffed his cheeks and exhaled at the end of her fellatio comment…, that was another. The direction was brilliant, with no one getting in anyone’s way with ego.
I worked in a place where the was a woman like that. She just had to walk across the floor, and the whole place came to a stand still. She didn't have to say a word.
I first saw her years ago on I think it was the edge of night. She was the hillen to save a list. And I have followed her career since then. She is a wonderful actress. smart funny

There were lots of funny moments in the series. Season 8 in particular (without giving away too much) had an episode of a client with a thick accent being blown up in a toilet. That was the funniest thing i ever saw in the show 😅😅

She was in complete power mentally, emotionally and more important, professionally She was decidedly older and much more experienced. She was the powerful judge, he was the lowly clerk. She controlled the entire relationship. She decided when they would have sex, where they would have sex, how often they would have sex, what sexual acts they would do, when he was to arrive to work, when he would go to lunch, when he was to leave for the day, I could go on and on... She led him by an emotional, mental and sexual string. She groomed and molded him for her own pleasure the same as an older, more mature man does to a younger, less experienced girl. He was just an eager and excitedly willing pawn. Anyone who actually watched the show at all knows that this is what she did as a matter of course. Her character's M.O. was to choose men who were not only decidedly younger but also emotionally and sexually immature compared to her. Later in the series she also seduced Jimmy. All that having been said, it was just a TV series. David E Kelley deliberately wrote this ongoing scenario into the series. He is an absolute Genius! Which is why us fans of "The Practice" love the show so much.
For living fuck's sake, this series aired almost 20 years ago, this episode around 2000. We recognize this behavior clearly as abuse of power NOW, but we didn't then, whatever the sex of the perpetrators. This episode is only 5 or so years after the Clinton sex scandal, which no one recognized as abuse until almost 20 YEARS LATER. So turn off your reverse time machine and stop applying today's standards to the early 2000s. Ridiculous.

That being said, the recognition of how heavy an influence of a man's power over a woman's consent isn't really that new. In the 1991 Clarence Thomas, Anita Hill hearings the main issue was not whether the behavior in question was an abuse of power over her consent to keep working for him (which was generally accepted as fact), but whether or not it could be proven that Anita Hill's version events was true. And keep in mind, while the major media dubbed Bill Clinton's actions as simply a marital indiscretion, numerous groups and organizations recognized that Monica's "decision" to participate was heavily influenced by Bill's power. But like I said, this was only a scene from a television series. Hell, when it first aired I remember thinking "Damn, why can't that happen to me!" The Practice was indeed a brilliant creation from the mind of a genius, David E Kelley!
