The whole premise of this is painful, and really unhealthy.

Offhand comments might be valuable. Perhaps certain school scholarships should mandate the parental involvement level with the family. As those schools well know, the primary determinant of success in school is STABLE FAMILY AT HOME. So, let's just make it clear to young parents. You LOSE funding from the rest of us when you choose to split with young kids (most common divorce age is 7-10)... Nearly 75% of children are or have experienced the breakup of their family. Perhaps forcing people to go along a bit before we allow them to get along in our society is really what's needed.
