@@SandraDonaghy As much as I love Susan Hayward, Charlton Heston's "Out of my cold, dead hands" stunt at the NRA convention really turned me against him. And here hes playing Andrew Jackson, probably the most brutal president in US history, and I'm from Tennessee. Not to mention his policies regarding Indigenous Americans.
Such a beautiful 💕 love story. These actors belonged to the golden age who will be treasured for ever. Their story teaches about virtues such as honour, honesty and patriotism ❤. Bless their souls ❤
@artinafranz2569 Andrew jackson gets bad rap from people today but he was am american icon. The battle of new orleans and how he always honored his wife if anyone said anything he a fascinating man of early america
Great movie and love story. This is what our schools should teach all about our history. Heston and Hayward gave excellent portraits of parts they played!!!!!❤🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲👍👍👍👍
Great movie! With good actors! Anybody noticed James Best? I think John McIntire was an underrated actor. I enjoyed him very much in the Mississippi Gambler with Tyrone Powers. Of course, we all appreciate Charlton Heston's and Susan Hayward's talent. My wife and I were so excited to see an old movie that we never saw before! That was a treat!
This was a great movie and with Charelton Heston and Susan Hayward it was a really good movie I enjoyed it very much and John McIntosh in their beside him as a true friend it made it even better
Ahhhh, the good old days when Men defended their Ladies honor and reputation (49.49). Andrew/ Charlton Heston just showed us how in that fight scene : )
I remember as a kid reading a book on Andrew Jackson and he was one tough man, pioneer and President. Heston was to play Andrew Jackson in another movie called “ The Buccaneer” opposite Yul Brynner. I forgot about this interesting note.
WHEN CHARLTON HESTON WAS YOUNG HE WAS A BIG DEAL / AND WHEN HE GOT OLD PEOPLE GOOFED ON HIM / OLD AGE HUMBLES US ALL / THE MEANING OF HUMBLE IS TO BE HUMILIATED / HAVE YOU EVER BEEN HUMILIATED / THOSE THINGS WE NEVER FORGET
They tell us after displacing our work we'll take care of you yet we've no way to prosper nor even venture for with the jobs can syndication of the segregated not kept out of compassion but compounded with rewards of cheap pride hand out lines and indignant barriers such as affording a family building ones very own environment which contributes as culture full of brave men and wemon. When captains of industry hire machines to replace what profiteers arrogantly claim they've a right to always keep labor forces easily expendable. Our hopes of love such as this movie defines in "The President's Lady" Thank you Canil
I love historical films and this is a good one. But two thoughts: 1. Why, oh, why did Fox shoot this in black and white? 2. Where was the music over the credits? For as much as Alfred Newman wrote many great scores, this is one of his loveliest.
The social life in those days was so tight and closed, people didn't had any personal choice to lead the way they wanted. Every thing was strictly monitored
My first time seeing this and I really enjoyed it. Obviously it's a Hollywood "true" account. Nevertheless, accurate in most respects, I would believe. And of course, Great movie stars make movies worth watching. 👍
Great movie but Andrew Jackson was one of those men responsible for The Trail of Tears Indian displacement and relocation which caused the death of nearly 17,000 indigenous Indians. Terrible!
End all loup de loops that i created. Return them to today's current time and affairs. So as it is written. So let it be done. Done. 15:43. By the Spirit.
