I swear a lot of people trash on the first 3 games cuz they never played them and assume they suck cuz they're old smh. The campaigns for COD 1 and 2 are better than most of the campaigns in the rest of the series imo
Also because I feel I have to state this with every tier list video: the views stated here are NOT my own, but the characters of the Presidential Zomboys.
The hate for COD2 is outrageous. It literally set the groundwork for the rest of the series to build upon. Can't believe that I'm saying this, but Sleepy Joe was cooking.
Not enough to bring it down. You say TranZit, I counter with Town. I mean we all played Town way more than TranZit anyways @@ninyaninjabrifsanovichthes45
there's a few flaws that do set the game back like the campaign feeling empty and zombies starting in the toilet as well with skill based matchmaking in multiplayer besides the game overall is a slight downgrade to bo1
@@MrKonr1444 why do you feel like the campaign felt empty??? Felt like it was the greatest campaign of all times considering your choices affected the game. I can agree Trans wasn't the best map, but other then that i felt like the other maps were good especially orgins
@@kenstargel782 the campaign felt like that everything you do changes nothing despite the multiple endings and the multiplayer is just so chaotic with a billion hackers and origins and mob of the dead are the only good maps. Buried was fine but was glitchy. Nuketown isn’t great for multiple players. TranZit and Die Rise are quite mid.
@@MrKonr1444arguably the best multiplayer in COD and the campaign was anything BUT empty. Campaign had a brilliant villain, amazing story and multiple endings which were all different, and it done the futuristic vibe well, (Unlike black ops 3) BO2 in the same tier as Warzone and Bo3 is absolutely criminal
@@PLUTOXGOAT dude the multiplayer was more broken than bo1 and the campaign sure it had multiple endings but bo1 campaigns better and “amazing villain” kinda pushing it also no game is perfect
I honestly think everything from WAW-BO2 is S tier and I’ve always wanted a MW show I think the campaign is a legit story that holds up with other stories in media!!🔥🔥
Yo, I've been watching your channel since the dark brandon ark, I get excited everytime you upload a new vid, I cant wait to see the series continue.Have a great day! Also IW is an amazing cod game, especially for zombies
Yeah the first time I got the game I went straight to zombies and keno was the first map I played and found that ultimate song 115 on keno @@liltoad9050
I am with joe on MW3. I played that a lot more than MW2. MW2 was my first introduction into that type of games, but MW3 was where I played online multiplayer for the first time
@@blacktallsmart1914just refer to today's modern warfare 3 as modern warfare 2023, so that people will know what your talking about, but Mw3 was goated as hell, one of the best cod games I played
I agree with Joe on AW. I really enjoyed AW and like how Zombies basically tied in with the campaign story. People have been begging for an AW 2 and I wish that was brought up in this video. You did great anyways and still enjoyed it. Nice seeing you uploading vids again.
Sledgehammer games have wanted to make AW 2 for years but Activision refuses they preferred to release garbage like vanguard instead of letting them create AW 2
I agree largely with your takes here. Good shit Josh. What I like about what you have done with the Presidents is that you take all their characteristics and heavily periodized them to act as a vessel for what the fanbases argue for and against in terms of what games/maps/etc. Clearly great writing skills and this is why your stuff (And Krucial's President series) are my favorite RU-vid vids to watch. Fuck it, your President's series is literally a show at this point. LOL.
Reasons why I think CoD Classic should be B tier at the most. It was the first game in the series that started it all. It does have iconic moments Joe just forgot. Introduced Captain Price by liberating him from a POW camp as American Paratroopers, something we haven't seen since and no, liberating the Concentration camp from WWII doesn't count since you only killed one guy in that ending. First ever character Captain Folly is voiced by anime legend of Eng dub Steven Blum. The British campaign is awesome as you get to defend Pegasus bridge, a very real bridge showing how the older CoD games kept historical accuracy in their titles. Air raid a dam like its Goldeneye 007. Storm an air field, which also hasn't been done much since this game other then Finest Hour and World at War. And, you get to infiltrate the Bismarck, an actual German Battleship, to sabotage it for RAF forces to bomb to the bottom of the sea. You would not get that feeling again until Infinite Warfare 13 years later. In the Russian campaign you get several classic tank levels, which was on a lot of other CoD's but hasn't been done since WWII and only in Ghosts have we seen it outside of WWII. We get to liberate Warsaw, something never done again since I might add which is a shame since Poland is heavily overlooked in the WWII shooter community. And, it was the first time we got to take the Reichstag in its final level, and while WaW would do it better with Heart of the Reich and Downfall, CoD Classic was first and that level has its moments as well, heck we haven't even been back to Berlin since Modern Warfare 3 in 2011. May I go on, or should I hold my breath as I convinced the Presidential Zomboys as to why the First CoD is a masterpiece for its time and not just another WWII shooter.
That was an awesome video. Thanks for actually recognizing IW did some good things instead of just going “ItS bAd, ThE wAlL rUnNiNg SuCkS, aNd ThE dOuBlE jUmP” because they complain about double jump in IW, yet people in MW3 hop around like a damn kangaroo.
mw2019 being in F is insane. It was a good return to form from the futuristic games, the graphics were great, and gun customization was fun to mess with
It's nice to get back to more simpler vids, especially with the massive story goin on rn. Hope we can have some more of these more chill vids in the future
CoD 3 is my favorite. The multi-player was so much fun.had a decent player base even years after on the Xbox 360. Nearly got a full lobby to play ranked too
Say about Ghost whatever you like, you can't deny that the dlc maps had some real gems in terms of the unique killstreaks they added. Running around as Micheal Myers or the Predator was cool and I am willing to die on that hill.
Just gotta mention CoD2 is great. While there’s no third mode and the multiplayer is of its time (and dead) it has a great campaign. Less story driven then later CoDs but the variety of missions and the size of the maps give you lots of room to maneuver. And there is no shortage of great moments. The set of missions where you land on D-day, taking the beach and nearby town only to get pushed back to the coastal cliffs to be saved at the last moment. Holding out in a bombed out apartment in Stalingrad, being overwhelmed by an enemy counter attack. Attacking the town of Caen with no armored support and no AT, having to scrounge for weapons to take out a Tiger tank. Assaulting hill 300, crossing the Rhine, giving Rommel’s best a good kicking, a commissar telling you in training that grenades are worth more than a soviet soldier. Not saying it’s the best CoD but CoD2 walked so CoD4 could run. CoD1 also deserved better but that’s not my hill to die on. Love the video though, these are great a getting laughs outta me.
The original MW3, Black Ops 2, and Ghosts were my personal favorites as they were the ones I mostly grew up on. Ghosts I feel like is really overhated. I love the map interactions in multiplayer, the unique care package drops depending on the maps you're on like the predator juggernaut, the harrier killstreak as a nod to MW2, and Shipmint as a battle area with random interactions in the map like the hidden sentry guns and care package jackpot. Also it was the first CoD game to have player customization which is something I really like. It's not the best by any means as I didn't like the campaign and Extinction was decent, but I think it's decent.
I was making a list of my top 50 favorite games ever and honestly insane that like 4 CODs have to make it. We used to all spend so many hours on them back in the zombies era plus the original MW and MW2
As one of the 3 people who never played the COD franchise, playing these games now has been an enjoyable experience. Im a man who loves campaign, and I guess I like my stories to be grounded and realistic because right now my favorite is BO1, second is World at War, and third is BO2. I played the campaigns and they were incredible. I really missed out. And if Modern Warfare is as good as people say it is especially the campaign then im definitely gonna play it, starting from the beginning
When I saw Cod MW 2019 for the first time I was just blown away from the graphics and the gunplay. I never was too much into multiplayer tho but the game evolved the old cod formula in a way that seemed at least natural, not like the advanced era
I believe Cod Ghosts was given too much hate. Its extinction mode was better than people gave it credit for and its progression system was actually cool. I'd give it a B tier. As the multiplayer wasn't so good unless you count the maniac or whatever the melee juggernaut was called. Bricky made a good video about it.
Great video as always, my guy. Even though I consider BO2 to be up there with MW2 in terms of innovation, fun, and impact on the COD community, I can respect the tier list
For me black ops 2 was my magnum opus one of the best campaigns from the fact I could make decisions that changed the outcome of the campaign the multiplayer was so damn fun and addictive the most I ever played a cod multiplayer and then the zombies being the most peak fun I ever played for zombies and then need I say more the avenge sevenfold songs we got as well
Hey Joshua Shaw Will the Presidents play left 4 dead have story line like Trump,Obama,Joe and Bush encounter past presidents like LBJ, Dwight Eisenhower,Jimmy Carter and Harry Truman?
I have never played COD but from what I've seen from you, Statik, and Shreeb, I think the Black Ops series and World At War have the best Zombies content by far. Yes, even BO4. At least, the Chaos storyline anyway.
MWIII should be at least B tier, I agree that it’s a dlc as it was supposed to be an update but past that the multiplayer is incredibly solid and actually works.
Honestly, I think Ghosts is A tier, or at least B tier. Ghosts was a massive gamble in that they tried to overhaul a lot of existing systems and make something a bit more unique. Campaign wise, the idea of instead of America being the superior power you instead are the inferior was a new take, and the reasoning was very simple. America made a superweapon that got hijacked and turned against them. There were also missions like Federation Day and Atlas Falls, where you rappel down a skyscraper and assault an oil tanker. Extinction was fun, with the challenges in each round giving that extra playstyle and replayability, especially once they added the upgrade system where you could unlock multiclassing or superior effects. And multiplayer has certainly aged like a fine wine, especially with past CoDs failures. Different sized maps encouraged using different weapon types as opposed to hust running the same gun over and over, the floating briefcase taking place of an earned care package made getting the drop feel more earned since you had to complete a mini mission first, and while the Zomboys made a joke on Biden the care package rewards were impressive, especially the map unique ones. Speaking of maps, they mentioned ones like Strikezone and Stonehaven, but you also have Fog, Ruins, the Fome and Freight remakes, Favela. Best comparison I can think of is Ghosts is Phantom Menace. When it first dropped everyone hated it. But overtime as worst things came out, you can look back and, while still seeing faults (of which Ghosts does have plenty), you can see the spirit of the CoD you love still within. Also Guard Dog was best killstreak.
I completely understand this opinion, however to me Ghosts was just really mid, the perfect C-Tier. Nothing sucked and nothing was amazing. The best thing is their loadout system in Multiplayer. Extinction is fun when you have a full party of friends.
Sorry for being over opinionated Joshua Shaw as I am a borderline OG CoD boy who has played most of the games and was disturbed by some of your choices, particularly with the first three game, although it does look like you personally like CoD 2 and only put it there thinking that the presidents, minus Joe, would hate it. By the time you got to stuff I agreed with completely, like MW 2007 to BO1, I felt like I had to keep putting my opinions out there as well. Sorry if it was too much, I just loved those early CoDs so much. I do love call of Duty and will still play some of the games from time to time, mostly WaW even beating it on veteran difficulty five months ago and I will say Blowtorch and Corkscrew as well as Relentless were really the hardest of the bunch. Have a wonderful day.
Pretty much a spot on list. Would've bumped up BO2 and MW OG to S tier, first 3 Cods to either D or C for their popularity at 360's launch, BO3 in B, ghosts, BO4 and MW3 -2.0 in F and the OG MW3 in A.
You want a great moment from the first game? How about the first level of the Soviet Campaign? It subverts expectations by refusing to give you any weapons for the entire level. You're forced to rely on your allies as you charge uphill into machine gun fire. It sets the tone for the campaign and provides players with a memorable experience after 2 previous campaigns full of shooting. Also the final level in COD4 with the truck chase can trace it's roots back to a similar mission in the British Campaign of COD1.
"I doubt anyone would get upset over this." Nope, we are upset with this Barak, we are. CoD 2 was my first Call of Duty game ever. And while it does not have as nearly as many memorable moments as its predecessor, it still delivered in several other fronts. It was the first CoD game to give you a grenade sensor, before it did not exist and you would just die randomly, and even though CoD 3 would start the trend of throwing them back, it was still nice to know that where the grenades were so you don't just suddenly die for no reason what so ever. It was the first CoD game to give us North Africa as a campaign and since then, every WWII game, with the exception of WaW and WWII, would have North African levels as ANZAC forces. It has the best intro out of all CoD games showing all the levels in great fashion. It was the only CoD game to have multiple objectives at once, which were all capture objectives but still it was nice to see that type of level in a game as early as this and I wish we would get that type of level design in a modern CoD game. It has the best objective diversity in the series where in some levels it would be your straight up shooter, but others it would be holding the line from German counter-attacks for a certain amount of time or waves like in Stalingrad and North Africa and even Hill 400 in the American Campaign. Others would be an escort mission, and there was even one North African mission where you, Captain Price, who makes his return by the way, and MacGregor, all high jack a German Armored Car, a viechle we have not seen since WaW's Vendetta level and in that level we just hear Reznov say "Armored Car" while its shooting us out of a burning building, and escape from a Tunisian town. It also was the first campaign where you participate in a navel invasion of Normandy as the Rangers rather than as Paratroopers of the 101st Airborne like last time, giving us a great D-Day level that was just as good as the opening scene in Saving Private Ryan. Once again, there is much that is good about this game that you are not letting on, so yeah I think a lot of people would be upset with this choice of having it in D or F tier as it is very memorable and has some of the best mechanics for levels I have ever seen in a CoD game and have never seen a CoD game since reach that level of objective diversity. Also, my father said that if this game had sprinting in the campaign rather then binoculars, it would have been his favorite CoD game instead of Modern Warfare 1, 2007.
Just remembered it was Finest Hour that was my first CoD but CoD 2 was my first mainline CoD and it really did get me into CoD far more then Finest Hour ever did. Sorry for the misinformation as it is hard at times to remember that far back since it was nearly 20 years, but thanks for the Heart Joshua Shaw.
Cod 3 DESERVES at the very least to be in B it has a great story, fun battles. A fantastic soundtrack, conflict and the overwhelming sense of accomplishment this game is fun from start to finish and the multiplayer was good. Another thing is the weapons have their own distinct sounds and are overall a blast to use.
I think you are hating on Advance Warfare as it was the last CoD to allow players to carry over weapons from one level to the next as seen in the Golden Gate bridge levels. With the exception of Burger Town which is an abomination that makes Transit look like a masterpiece in comparison, I thought Exo Zombies was amazing and that some of its features, such as human enemies and infectors, should have been in BO3 zombies like in Zetsubo No Shima since their were Division 9 soldiers in the beginning cutscene and those plant zombies should have had their spores be like infections rather then a minor cough cough inconvenience. Also, the smart grenades were awesome and if it was mixed with CoD 3 rag doll physics, we would have had a masterpiece in explosion effects to the highest degree.
MW3 is my favourite mostly because I remember getting the game on Christmas, playing through the game taking my time. Until soap died then I tried playing as fast as I could to hunt that bastard down for killing him
Call of duty 2 big red one is still my favorite cod to this day. Nothing has come close in terms of quality with historical events and the feelings I got watching your squad get killed off over time. I wish theyd remaster the old cods like they have with modern warfare 1 and 2
The war missions from cod world war II were really cool, especially the one from the fourth DLC that had the Tesla guns and stuff and from the zombies mode. I really loved the Frozen Dawn and shadowed throne and the darkest shore with its story and gameplay
George and Joe had amazing takes on MW3, I think it’s better than mw2 solely because it is more refined and fair. Plus spec ops was way better this time around, and survival is a lot of fun. Plus the campaign brought back some missions that weren’t just constant explosions and death. It had plenty of quiet moments meant to build tension. MW2 had constant action like a Michael Bay movie. A far cry from the og MW which would always build the tension up in quiet missions. Personally I’d rank MW3 in S tier and MW2 in A tier.
