Trying this out on a $20 amazon sewing machine. Fingers crossed I come out with something that resembles a dinner napkin for my guests this weekend!!

Hi Christine! Just purchased the Essex and Vandam patterns. Lovely demonstration on this beautiful napkin. I vote for more home/ kitchen products. I have a couple of ideas for you on the napkins. Wondered if you might try French seaming the ruffle to the napkin? Also, to keep frayed seams from poking out during French seaming, I use a narrow (3 thread) serger stitch to pre gather the ruffle. This works best on single layer lightweight wovens like cotton and linen if you adjust the serger’s differential first. It could save you the ruffle gathering and binding steps. Just an idea I’m going to try on your napkins! ❤

Hi there! Thanks for your purchase and feedback! Those are great ideas for the napkins, especially the French seaming and pre-gathering with a serger stitch. I appreciate your suggestions and creativity! Enjoy crafting with the patterns! 💜

🤗 well done Christine. Very well explained. I loved the mitred corner tip, and also the 1” crossover for the binding. That was great 👍🏾. But most importantly, I am SO glad you mentioned about your top at the end 😍, coz I was gonna ask you about it. Love, love, love it. Will definitely be ordering that soon, along with the Astor skirt, and Mercer top. Lovely designs and details.
