Nancy Schrader, was originally a contestant on the November 14, 1984 broadcast, was called to come on down in this episode, but later found out to be ineligible!
First, I hope everyone else got a second chance to come back because of this, second the pricing games for this video were- Range Game Hole-In-One One Right Price Shopping Spree Cover-up Secret X
This was back in the day where once you were on the show you were no longer eligible to appear on the show again. Starting with Drew Carey’s second year as host they changed it where if it was 10 years or more when you last on the show you were once again eligible to be on the show again.
Interestingly enough, I remember seeing a video on Facebook, where a woman not only appeared on the show with Bob and won her showcase with him, she later went on to be on the show twice with Drew, and win her showcase on both shows.
@@timglende8869 I did hear about some former contestant with Bob Barker, won on the show where they were paying tribute to 1972, during their Halloween show of that season.
59:09 now, less than one year on Jeopardy!, Jeff Kirby appeared and about a decade after that, made the same challenge that Nancy did on TPIR here! Just like Nancy, Jeff on that 2009 Jeopardy! episode received absolutely nothing for challenging ineligibility!
I felt bad for her, and especially had she won the pricing game that would have been like "I'm sorry, we've got to take the car away from you" since she was ineligible. Now if they had found out about this beforehand she could have still been in the audience for this particular taping of the show.
Well, at least a car wasn’t won in her favor, as a result. That would’ve been even more depressing. I suppose they didn’t examine her name or identity very carefully.
@@chrisfinch8637 Well they relied on social security numbers to check and see if they've been on the show before but those often get updated or their name gets changed. However it wouldn't be detected if the contestant gave a false/made-up number. Problem is the contestant ran into trouble when accurate information had to be provided to the government for tax purposes - thankfully the CBS prize department once the IRS noticed the numbers didn't match took wind of the problem.
I can’t say I feel bad for her. I’ve been to a few tapings of the show and they clearly state the eligibility requirements before the taping begins. If you’re ineligible then you can remain in the audience without registering yourself as a potential contestant. So if she chose to go about things dishonestly, that’s not cool. She already had her opportunity as a contestant on her previous appearance. I more so feel bad for other people in the audience in this taping who had never been a contestant before and she needlessly took away a slot from them. Yes it’s a shame that the show didn’t catch it before the cameras started rolling but why bother trying to cheat the eligibility requirements in the first place?

@ 59:08 - Rod Roddy announced, at the end of the broadcast: "The second onstage contestant was found to be ineligible and will not receive the prizes." This wasn't the 1st time she was ineligible, back in 1984, she was ineligible, really, a second time, I really don't know. This Taping is Dedicated To The Loving Memory Of Bob Barker, Who Was The Reason For The Show, And Loved It! May He #RIP! (1923 - 2023)!
