I like it when Drew and George moved over to The Late Late Show for one night, while Craig Ferguson took over TPIR. Doing the announcing was Shadoe Stevens, and assisting with the "modeling" was Geoff Peterson, his robot skeleton sidekick, and Secretariat, his not a real horse.
This is so heartwarming because Drew is such a no-ego host and treats the show as an ensemble cast. You can tell everyone enjoyed themselves and it was great to see how well each of the models can do at hosting or announcing.
@USANATV2007's Entertainment Club He was at one point, including a very interesting incident in the one case in which a contestant actually bid the exact price of a Showcase, causing a frenzy on the show which limited winning for a number of seasons afterward.
This Model's Rule episode was one of the best episodes of The Price Is Right. All of the models had a blast! Out of all of the models that were on this show from Diane to Janice and to even Rachel, Gwendoline is my favorite. She is really beautiful and she reminds me a lot of that woman from that Canadian Cheetos Blind Date Commercial from 2001 and that Mr. Fruit Breezer commercial in 2005. I know they are both not the same woman but they look similar around the beautiful faces.
And they we so good in their roles. Definately agree this is one of the most fun episodes EVER! If Drew ever needed a replacement for a show or two, I would live to see it again.
@@NostalgicNathanOfficial Yeah, this is the kind of legendary prank that could be repeated with enough time and staff turnover. There has been plenty (and Alexis especially would be dynamite - I've been plenty vocal that I LOVE her energy [my prior comment was before she was hired]). The 2022 April Fool's was good, but it's very hard to top the one-two punch of this one + Bob Barker's fake out entrance. Doesn't get much more legendary than those!
Gwendolyn needs to be the new prime time host of the show; maybe either keep George or have another former TPIR Beauty announcing on the same premise. ❤
That awkward moment when a commercial gets interrupted for an ad. One day, this video will get ported to a new platform where another ad will interrupt the ad that interrupted the commercial.
The following games in this episode are: Money Game - Win: Hosted by Gwendolyn, announced by Amber Switch? - Loss: Hosted by Manuela, announced by Rob Plinko - $2,500 win: Hosted by Amber, announced by Gwendolyn Double Prices - Win: Hosted by Manuela, announced by Amber That's Too Much - Loss: Hosted by Rob, announced by Manuela Easy as 1, 2, 3 - Loss: Hosted by Amber, announced by Gwendolyn Peter's Showcase Bid: $26,000 Total Winnings: $28,268
I would have loved to see something like this from the days when Dian, Janice, and Holly were "The Big Three"... that would also have been awesome to see...
they could only do this with a guy like drew hes enough of a good sport to agree to this!! bob would never in a billion years agree to change places with the models!!
Messrs. Gray & Carey, actually, seemed genuinely surprised; i.e., this wasn't told, to them. Can't wait, to watch the rest!(Having thought about it, realise it couldn't have been surprise. The gentlemen had to know where they had to be, for each segment.)Having viewed the entire taping...LOVED IT!
And isn't tat Rob dude the same dude that plays Ben Weston over in Salem, Illinois on DAYS OF OUR LIVES? That is what I thought as I was pretty Sure it was him
I wish that they would've done something like this back in the old days. I could imagine Bob and Johnny or Rod modeling prizes with Janice, Dian, Holly, Kathleen, or Nikki sharing announcing duties. Also, if Peter had bid $26,500 he would've gotten both showcases with a $209 difference.
This never would’ve happened during Bob’s tenure; his huge ego wouldn’t have permitted it… Yeah, I went there. Bob never even allowed the models to be miked up, so no way would this have been done. I absolutely loved this episode, and wish they’d do more like it and not even just for April Fools’ Day, either. It’s one of the reasons Drew really started growing on me as host after a few years. It’s become a fresher, more relaxed and more open show during his tenure.
@@DorvellTStewart So picture this scenario: There is a talk show like Sally Jessy Raphael, Jenny Jones or Ricki Lake being taped in the same studio as Price is Right and Young and the Restless, the original host goes on maternity leave or stress leave (I could certainly see the latter happening with a "wild teen" show... LOL!) and the host wanted the models to fill in for her during her absence... Bob Barker wouldn't allow it? That would be too bad, because I'm picturing Janice or Holly hosting the "wild teen" shows and showing no mercy upon them... *ESPECIALLY* if TPiR reported that one of the teens was busted having sex in a bedroom or trailer that was being given away as a prize.
That would've been pretty cool. I'm shocked it took this long to do it! Bob might have jumped at the chance. Rod? No too sure if that floated his boat too well.
Don't be surprised the models can do this. They are both actors in addition to working on the Price is right. The one hosting is Gwendolyn Osborne who has been in the movie Snow Dogs. The one announcing the prizes is Amber Lancaster who has done some TV shows like CSI: Miami and Scorpion. To say they are inexperienced would be incorrect and just plain wrong. They can do a better job than Drew Carrey trying to model items, and are just as good as he is at the job he does.
"just as good"(?) Hardly. After a decade of watching hosts from close-up, and being given easy-to-explain pricing games to introduce on this episode (they even forgot to pass-on important rules before play, such as: how, in that first game that had a car as a prize, you only get three wrong guesses; after that, you automatically win the cash from the four cards), they were lucky. The regular models didn't have any show time to fill, like when games occasionally are played quicker-than usual... a pro such as Bob Barker, Dennis James, Tom Kennedy, etc. were expert at accomplishing the "filling" of time with various interview techniques. The models as M.C.s clearly had none of these techniques. Doing a short walk-on acting spot in a soap opera won't teach you those skills. They kept using the same phrases here & could never think on their feet the way Barker could if needed. With all DUE respect, a C+ performance here.
She's obviously not ready for it now but I can see Amber succeeding Drew one day. Before she left, could definitely see Gwendolyn succeeding Drew one day. Rachel, though on maternity leave at the time, is an obvious candidate to host one day since of all the current models, she's been there the longest.
Really doubtful that he even watches T.P.I.R. after retiring from the show; he left discussion of each & all of them completely out of the autobiography that he released while already in retirement.
I'd like to see a "Jersey Shore" themed Price is Right with Snooki as the host and her Meatball, Deena yelling "Come On Down" along with Jersey Shore Themed Showcases.
the biggest mistake they make in Plinko is dropping the chips too high. The lower you place it, the less it will bounce around. So put it right in the middles as close as possible and hope for the best.
Interesting note: the only other time that Drew didn’t hosted TPIR on April Fools was, I believe the following year as his former “The Drew Carey Show” co-star Craig Ferguson and his “Late Late Show” crew switched places with Drew and the TPIR crew
For all the people saying that they miss Bob Barker(I miss him too), GET OVER IT!! Barker is 95 and he retired cause while TPIR is a fun show, Barker was probably mentally and physically tired/drained from being jumped on by random people. Barker wanted Drew to do the show HIS OWN WAY!!! And after almost 12 years after Barker retired, Price is still on, so Carey must be doing something right. I saw the last 25 years of Barker The Price is Right, btw having been born in June 1982.
First of all, Jackass!! Many of us has gotten over Bob and we're not that stupid because we know he's 95 years old and not coming back. Yeah, Drew is doing the show "His Own Way" and many have accepted it and many don't have to . So don't be an asshole by jerking us around about "get over it"!
Eddie Perez why did u feel the need to comment and call me a jackass when you don’t even know me!? I bet you feel big and tough chewing me out behind a computer screen. I try hard not to cuss over the internet-or in life but you sir, are a crazy dumbass! HAVE A GOOD DAY!!!
@@garryjohnson9918 This crazy dumbass may not know you but I don't take kindly for people like you and are hard to ignore. Based on your profile pic and your comment, You look like a guy who likes to look down at "Anti-Drew" fanboys. Well, I ain't one of them!! Yeah, I'M CRAZY and if you did know me, you'll see how crazy I can be!!! HAVE A GOOD DAY and FUCK YOU!!!
I regret not watching a lot of the Drew Carey era now. My grandmother didn't like Drew because she was Bob Barker fan. Yet I think I will try to catch up now.
HONESTLY I ALMOST MISSED THAT THE MODELS DID A GREAT JOB PLUS I GOT TO HEAR THEM SPEAK BEAUTIFUL VOICES I AM DOWNLOADING THIS VIDEO ĹOVED IT❤❤❤❤❤❤😍❤❤🐕❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@utubethumbsup : Thanks, for supplying the word("t")for which I was searching, in describing the program's current 'look.' Well said.(and, yes, it was fun.)
Part of it is that Bob Barker was the Executive Producer of the show so he got to make all the production decisions. Like camera shots, music cues, and so on. And he was always very structured and regimented, so it was all very choreographed whereas Drew Carey’s thing is improv so he kinda just does whatever and the crew just follows along. Sometimes it makes it more fun but in the process it also makes it look less classy.
