WHY did she go lower than the first price? They always go from least expensive to most expensive. If the first one was $20, saying $15 for the 2nd one is setting yourself up for failure. Then she said $40 on the last one, when she could be off by 8. She was lucky it wasn't $50. Doing the math, I would've said $42. Oh well. She won.
She went lower on the second item because she didn't do her homework. If you are going to go to a Price Is Right taping, with a chance to be on the show, you've got to research these games and learn how to play properly. She obviously was oblivious to the fact that each subsequent item is always more expensive than the prior item. Always. And yes, since we learned the second item was $30, we knew the third item had to be more than that, and most likely _at least_ $5 more. (Usually around $10 more.) But i it was just $5 more, that would put it at a price of $35. So yes, a guess of $42 or $43 or $44 would most likely have been ideal. Her guess of $40 was, in theory, a couple of dollars too low. Still, it was good enough for her to win. (This game is easy to win... even when you don't play properly.)
