A contestant wins $40,000 on The Price is Right salutes the U.S. Army in 2002 to become the biggest Plinko winner ever, daytime and primetime, a record that was held until May 7, 2008 when someone won $41,000 on it.
So im the one who won and I just love telling my story over and over and over!! This was a great moment in my life and I wish I could go through it again!!
Thank you from my heart for your service to your country, and subsequently all of us as well! It is sooooo cooool that you were able to have this experience!
WOW way to go Soldier...You DESERVE every penny! My husband's cousin used to tell me that he (true story btw) used to have frequent dreams of being called to come on down, get on stage, play Plinko...Get ALL 5 chip's....And EVERY last one ended up on 0!!!! That's messed up!
Bob Barker has always had a special place in his big heart for the Military. He has always made sure that the audience was filled with them so they could have a chance to come on stage and Win !! Thanks Bob for that !!
Jagethemage Could be worse. You could be looking up America's Funniest Home Videos. That was the show that PRECEDED RU-vid! Before there was the "Cat Videos" meme, there was AFV. Back then, there was no website to post your videos about your cat. That's what AFV was for!
yeah he was. and its nothing against drew, i actually love drew carey, love the shows hes been in, loved him as the host of whos line is it anyway, but that is bobs show as far as im concerned, and it just wouldnt be the same
bucky468 Sorry, I'm not at all familiar with that incident. I just miss him as the host, I have no idea what he's like as a person. But to your point, I think it would be worth looking into the circumstances of why that individual was let go...pregnant or not, if someone isn't upholding their duties they should be let go.
bucky468 Its a proven fact that pregnant women cost companies more then most of their employees combined, thats why im glad paid maternity leave isnt mandatory.
He was 15 months into his service at the time. So was I. I can imagine his First Sergeant when he went back to his unit, "Oh you think you Big balla now, PFC? You're gonna knock out one push-up for every dollar you won. now start pushing , Richie Rich!"
Everytime I see Bob Barker hosting this show. It saddens me that he is retired in a way. Though he busted himself hard for his retirement and I will forever wish him much peace and happiness. I cant even watch Drew Carey for more than 5 minutes without changing the channel. Drew does not have that enthusiastic voice that makes a contestant feel like they won, nor does he really focus on the game. I really think they should find someone with more game show material. But Bob is the true legend!!
And Drew dresses like a slob. Bob was an impeccable dresser. He took an interest in every contestant and was funny. Drew is forced, and not funny and a slob.
This was the best game show EVER. And the reason I say was is because this show will NEVER be the same without Bob. Doesn't even seem right Bob not coming through those doors at the start of the show.
Chris Kreager because the middle spot was 20,000 instead of 10,000. If it was the old game it would've been 20000, which would've still been good but not the record.
I was just telling this story to a clerk at the store today. This guy and I were in the same unit (Dragon team, Operations Group, Ft Irwin) when this happened. The money he won was probably gone in a month. He did a bunch of stupid crap that, for awhile, Blue Falcon'd the rest of us on the team.
Claudia Jordan modeled that $100K Plinko sign BEAUTIFULLY; they need to bring back the sign ($250K for daytime, $500K for nighttime) with *her* in front of it and the horns after the harp sting.
Its last appearance was on December 5, 2003. The next time Plinko was played (December 12, 2003) and every subsequent playing, there has been no sign. The given reason was because it was difficult to catch the contestant's reaction and the Plinko sign all at once (and apparently a split-screen was out of the question).
Well folks this record that was held for six years was just broken last night. A contestant won $41,000 on it on last night's TPIR Million Dollar Spectacular show.
i love Bob Parker!!!!! he is my favorite gamehost. i was pretty sad when he retired:( i wonder what Bob Parker does now. He was awesome!!! :) I LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thumbs up if you saw this after you saw the historic plinko video and was like WTF, THE LAST VIDEO SAID THAT THE PLINKO CHIP HAD NEVER GOTTEN STUCK B4!!
This record only counts for nighttime due to a higher cash award. Divide his winnings by 2 (daytime:$50,000 , Nighttime:$100,000) and your only getting 20,000 in daytime terms, so this isn't a daytime record (although $40,000 has never been reached on daytime).
Yeah, thats true I guess. Perhaps cause I among millions am so use to Bob that adapting to drew is hard. But as you said, Drew will adapt. Drew carey is great as a comedian and actor so was Bob. All that to say there is total truth to what you said. Cheers man.
@btn2271984: many us stations also reach well into canada....some examples include wroc (rochester, ny) which can be watched from belleville and trenton ontario, wivb (buffalo, ny) who has a substantial signal reach into southern ontario, including toronto, and woio (cleveland) also stretches across lake erie to viewers in london ontario....
