It's sad how difficult things have become in the present generation. I was wondering how to utilise some money I had. I used some of it for e-commerce business, but that sank. I'm thinking of how to protect my $300K stock portfolio from decline is my main concern, but I don't really know which way to go.
Yeah, things may be hard right now, but I've come to realize both bear and bull market, recessions and economic boom, all provide opportunities to make high gains, I used to call bluff on folks that bragged about making a fortune from such down-markets until I happened to do so myself
I agree. I've been working with a financial advisor since 2020, and I return up to 15k every month, and I don't even have to lift a finger. Although I also think the reason I make this much is because I started with significant capital.
That makes a lot of sense. To be on the safer side and not second guess your market decisions, I’d suggest you reach out to a proper investment adviser for guidance, they’re better equipped at understanding market patterns/movements and adjusting portfolio to match up with these market trends
There are many independent advisors to choose from. But I work with Vivian Jean Wilhelm and we've been working together for almost four years and she's fantastic. You could pursue her if she meets your requirements. I agree with her.
I worked 60 hours a week through my whole 20s and into my 30s now I’m in my 40s and I refuse to do it. I’m not gonna slave for corporate America anymore.
I was always eager for overtime in my 20’s and 30’s. Now I’m approaching 50 and while I vote Eight, I’m not a slave for corporate America. I need my time for me.
I’m 41, I’ll work as much as I can and once I have 1 million liquid capital, owning 3 new cars. I’ll chill out only work 8. Living in cali isn’t cheap, but I haven’t done that bad, I think I can do this all by 50, but by then even with owning 1 house out right, I’m sure I’ll have another two.
our economy is in such a mess, It's really sad to witness the many struggles our economy is going through right now, with uncertainties, housing problems, bad weather, foreclosures, global changes, and the aftermath of the pandemic all adding to the instability. The increasing inflation, sluggish growth, and trade disruptions urgently need attention from all sectors to restore stability and encourage growth. How do you think we can effectively tackle these issues?
exactly It's kinda worrying to watch the US dollar drop in value because of inflation while other currencies are getting stronger, making things feel uncertain. Even with that, there's still some trust in the dollar's safety. I see your point about being concerned about your $420,000 retirement savings possibly losing value. Thinking about other ways to protect your money seems like a smart idea. Have you thought about any particular alternatives or plans to keep your retirement savings secure?
With my demanding job, I lack time for investment analysis. For seven years, a fiduciary has managed my portfolio, adapting to market conditions, enabling successful navigation and informed decisions. Consider a similar approach.
This is definitely considerable! Do you think you could suggest any professionals or advisors I can get on the phone with? I'm in dire need of proper portfolio allocation.
I'm grateful for your help. After looking up her name online and checking out her credentials, I must say, I'm really impressed. I reached out to her because I could really use all the help I can get. We've set up a call for further discussion.
@@ebaz817just because one works doesn’t mean the next will.. Sometimes if you buy a car like that the engine blows in a month and you have no warranty and you are screwed. The point is the working class can’t afford the cheapest car or afford to have a beater fall apart. Yet employers expect 100% reliability.. but they don’t want to pay to make that an option. The world is just greedy and the working class / poor get screwed. They just have the access to videos of how they are getting screwed now. Society is creating slaves and criminals.. then getting mad about it. We are chipping our own foundation and I don’t feel sorry for us.
I don't feel sorry for Gen Z, they thought liberal policies were more important than having a job, stable rent, and liveable wage. "Tell me about your preferred pronouns when you homeless lmao lol.
Gotta love their logic of not overworking their employees - they’re saying it’s wrong to overwork them because they might die, not because it interferes with their life. If they never have time to date and get married it doesn’t hurt the company, but if they die, it does.
He is exactly what's wrong with the world today. Nobody is going to devote their life to a job that doesn't promote and keep increasing in pay. I've watched far too many people work 10 years at a job to get middling 2-3% raises every couple years and never get any promotion. Why dedicate yourself to a company who will replace you the moment they can hire someone a dollar cheaper? I'm going to do everything I can to screw over my employer just as they do me.
boomers are the worse in the workforce. I am a millennial. I cannot stand Gen X and Boomers. I disagree profusely with your take. I am ready for Gen Z to be more in the workforce
And? We made lunches at home, fixed our own cars, cut coupons to save money. Never paid a dime for a glass or plastic cup of water till the late 90s. Coffee? you could sit at a diner all day and drink coffee for $.99. So yes, a house could be bought for $15- $20k, but it was improved and had up keep. You deserve a return on your investment. Starbucks Coffee tastes good for a minute. $5 everyday minus the $.14 to make a pot at home can add up quickly to more than most people have in a 401K
Millennials and Zoomers are SO PATHETIC! 😂 Literally the only generation in history who have blamed their own failures on previous generations. Very lame.
So how exactly can we guard against the coming financial reset for 2024? Like what are really the best strategies to make our portfolio recession proof against the incoming financial reset? I'm very worried about my $110k stock portfolio.
Knowledgeable Investors know where and how to put money during a crisis in order to reduce risk and maximize returns. See a market strategist with experience if you are unable to manage these market conditions.
I agree, having the right plan is priceless. My portfolio is well-suited for any market and recently doubled since early last year. My CFP and I are aiming for a seven-figure goal, which might take another year to achieve.
Jessica Lee Horst is the licensed advisor I use. Just research the name. You’d find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment.
Thank you for the information. I conducted my own research and your advisor appears to be highly skilled and knowledgeable. I've sent her an email and arranged a phone call. Her expertise is impressive, and I'm eagerly anticipating our conversation.
At 35 middle TN last 3 years we've put in 46 bids on a first home outbid every time by cash buyers. No one can afford to live in NYC? No one can live in the US unless you already owned assets before the pandemic.
@@vini382.4 Same. I hate politics and both parties will come with bad stuff. But democrats are literally insane. We need to get them out for sanity to return. Economic sanity and just common sense in general
Unfortunately, not all of us were financially literate early. I was 35 when I finally educated myself and started taking steps. I went from $176,000 in debt with zero savings or retirement to now, 2 years later, fully debt-free and over $1000,000 net worth. I know that doesn't SOUND like a lot, but I'm incredibly proud of it. Now I'm fast-tracking my wealth building (investing $400,000 annually) and don't owe a dime to anyone. It's a good feeling!
Don’t be confuse buying the dip in a bear market, with guaranteed future returns. Just because that company is down 60%+ from ATH does NOT make it a sound long-term investment. Make sure you’re investing in great companies. kudos to Sonia
@ace9840 I understand. Been working in this mill for twenty four years. Twelve hour shifts but there’s the occasional sixteen to eighteen hour shift, brutal on the body.
🤔That is crazy and brings back memories. My dad bought my Sister's car for $ 4,000 and he picked up my First car at the same time, the Dealer threw it in for only $3,000. It was a 1982 Dodge Omni.😎❤️😂😂 Fuel was .99 a gallon ⛽.
In Colorado there is Labor Law about how many hours the employee should have break time and how many hours the employees should have between nights/Day shifts to prevent accident.
In the 70 you could survive on one salary the husbands went to work women stayed home cooked every meal for kids ready for school family lives now both parents have to work kids are being raised by strangers the family life has gone off the rails and these kids have no respect for their parents or society
6:05 if allowed, they'll stay hanging out with friends. This has been an ongoing parenting problem since the kidnapping of Adam Walsh, and parents are still worried about getting CPS called on them for letting their kids go play. The old "It's (time)PM, do you know where your children are?" PSA did a huge amount of damage.
It's so nice that she hopes the old people she sees on the streets are taken care off instead of spending any of her copious amounts of money to help them.
The anti-competition and price gouging and bad work environments leading to epic record breaking profits for those at the top, is reason for all to be resentful.
Work life balance? Isn't that dependent on what your personal goals are? To have fun while you're young or have security when you're older? This isn't Hannah Montana. You can't have the best of both worlds. Or maybe you can, by being a loud mouth on the news and make every situation that is a part of life seem like an absolute travesty.
Wow and you say your covering economics while you use a example of a auto price back then you didn’t say what the hourly income was/ Ave. yearly income for the non College educated what percentage that delta was vs now , yes inflation is worse now however the government wasn’t paying for student loans , families to stay home not work every little whimper or snivel was paid for by the government. We were independent and we lived with what the weather was the heat ,cold rain and snow with common sense practices.
You become a 'humineral' getting mined for your work like a mineral. Imagine getting few hundred years old like the antediluvian people did, that's a lot of working years till retirement.
I work from 2pm-2am at my factory but I get yearly raises. So it’s worth it. My current pay without shift differential is 27.90 and with shift differential it varies on the hours. Sometimes I’m at 28.90 sometimes I’m at 29.90 sometimes I’m at 30.90 and sometimes I’m at 31.90. Like yesterday I worked two days and made 940 and some cents net. I don’t want to work 12 hours forever but inflation is forcing me and I’m only 27 years old so I could enjoy an easy 8 hour shift once I’m 50 years old. I’m choosing to stay single at the moment until I see that the economy is good. Until then ima work
The arrogance of these individuals is crazy…. Young people will not listen to these idiots just saying the age bracket of these people is so absolutely out of touch it’s hard to fathom. Anyone following these people are just corporate ladder climbing .
If you're on a job interview and ask about work life balance, you can kiss it goodbye. The employer will know you're the type of person who wants to leave work early to go to a Yoga class
To the point they made at the top of this piece, it’s not reasonable to expect someone will work above & beyond for the long haul. They’ll burnout. It’s in everyone’s best interest to find that balance. But you’re right about not making that an interview issue. Who tf would hire that headache! 😂
