Very well explained. Gladwell is my favorite story taller. As Galeano would say a sentipensante (thinkfeeler)

I think the positive contributions to WW2 of Lindemann were largely overlooked by your posting, but there are certainly sharp questions to be asked about the treatment of India. Churchill was as flawed a man as any of us, but it could be argued that German would be the common language of Merseyside, if someone other than Churchill had been thrust into heading the war cabinet. From my front window I can see unexpected diagonals of missing houses, that were the result of bombings in Liverpool 80 years ago. My mother lost 13 of her school-mates in a direct hit on a bomb shelter that she was (luckily) prevented from attending by my grandparents. It is tragic that nobody has to this day figured out that bombing civilian populations does not diminish their will to fight. On the contrary, it only makes them more bloody-minded. The Ukraine war is just the latest example.

One of my ancestors lived in Haiti where his Father took care of diplomatic concerns in the region. The Son of the Diplomat when He was sufficiently wealthy left Haiti and traveled to Australia where He took up a job as a Station Manager for farming of livestock according to my late Aunt who died recently a year ago at 100 yo circa., My Uncle served on the Australian Detachment to the Halifax Bomber Squadrons for the RAF in WW2; the other one loaded the bombs; my other Uncle was on the last boat out of Singapore when the Japanese annexed the island in WW2. He use to blame me for the way his Son lost an eye (OEM {.i.e., 'One Eye Missing' Directors Joke) because I was very fond of Errol Flynn pirate movies. Some one poked his Son in the eye with a stick when He was a child. It wasn't me. I wasn't born yet at that time;) My Aunty was a Wac and worked in Mc Arthur Chambers. I worked on Queen St, Brisbane, just across the road from where she had been doing work for General Mc Arthur I presume when He did the offensive planning. I use to walk by the place on my way to lunch each day when I was in my later teens and I didn't even know;) It's a serendipity story where I even worked briefly in an Embassy in Canberra next to the Governor-Generals residence. He had worked with my Father as Police Officer. Isn't that amazing! How is that possible? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KujN8Pjl7Zg.html

When one of my Uncles returned from Singapore after retreating from the Japanese my Mother said that He was as skinny as a rake. She was a child of about 10 yo when He returned from the War. He went to work in a Hardware if I recall (?) I did that to for a short time. It's a good job if you like home decorating. When He retired He use to play a Hammond Organ;)

1. Ships from Australia going past India on the way to Britain? - check out a world map, the South Atlantic was a safer bet in 1943. 2. Check out the Library of Congress. Letters from Churchill to Roosevelt asking for food support for India

I found a letter from 1944, not 1943 history.state.gov/historicaldocuments/frus1944v05/d281 There is definitely debate regarding Churchill’s role and several rebuttals to the assertions in Ms. Mukerjee book..... My opinion: the whole truth is probably impossible to know, but Churchill’s overall opinion of India and the colonies is well documented. He was an outspoken imperialist. To blame him 100% may not be accurate, but to absolve him 100% would be completely inaccurate IMO

,,,,,that exact thing happens in The Joy Luck Club. They're on the refugee boat at night and they come across a patrol. The baby is about to cry and kill them all; so the mother drowns her baby in the lake...

The Reason for Slavery Joke I'm about to make a short doco video where I describe why Slavery occurs across Ethnicity. Why do particular Races end up being Slaves.? The answers quite interesting because it relies on rather substantive explanations that are largely absent from mainstream thinking about slavery. It involves an observation about the Paddle Steamer of the Mississippi River and the author Mister Mark Twain. It's an Australian view about explanations for Slavery:)

Don't forget to include the 1 million slavic whites mostly enslaved in the Barbary Coast slave trade or the millions of blacks enslaved by the Arabs and their castrations of young black males.

Who apparently had all the charm of Ted Bundy. There's a reason people seem "so surprised" when they find someone they liked so much was really a monster.
