Dame Maggie was not afraid to age gracefully. Wrinkles and a bit of weight never stopped her from finding a suitable role. She did not need botox or cosmetic surgery,. Unlike her Amrican counterparts, she was not afraid to grow old. How I wish they would learn from her! She was an actress first and foremost. Let this be her legacy !

I do think Europeans are more sensible about growing old. There's no avoiding it and you there is nothing wrong with looking your age. Look at Jane Fonda.. Then look at Maggie or Judie Dench. And disfiguring yourself has nothing to do with your "job" as an actress. Maggie Smith could play anyone of the screen with just one look. No matter who she had in front of her. She was one of the truly greats. Look at one of her movies before you go to a plastic surgeon. It's the talent that counts. Not the plastic you put into your body.
