The PRO's & CONS of owning a miniature DACHSHUND 

Hi! I'm glad to hear! I can definitely make a video about crate training too. Some tips for now (in case I don't make the video in time) are: 1. Let her get used to the crate from day one. Lure them into the crate a couple times with treats, close the door for a couple seconds and then let her out again. 2. Let her sleep in the crate from the first night (either in a different room or next to your bed). Only let her out if you think she needs to pee or poop - which for new puppies is every 2-3 hours-. Don't let her out just because she's crying (because that will happen). 3. Make it cosy: blankets, toys. Also put a blanket on top and over the sides if there's too much light in the room at night (leave the door side open for air). This also makes it feel safer. 4. Put the crate in a smart part of the room: in a corner to make it feel safe, but enough view over the room. 5. Give treats every time she enters (by herself or because you put her in it). Keeps it fun and positive. 6. Don't use the crate for discipline unless you really have to, and don't leave her in her crate (closed) if it's not necessary. Only to sleep or when you leave the house. 7. Try your best to not let her poop or pee in the crate (see point 2 & 6). Go outside or put her on her puppy pad right after she gets out of the crate every time - this also helps with potty training. 8. Get a crate that is not too big or too small! For mini dachshunds that's 24" x 18" x 21". Bigger seems nicer but can actually feel unsafe or make them potty in a corner. Let me know if you have any more questions! Good luck with your puppy :)

@@ConnyvanderMeer That truly does help a lot and i will keep that in mind for sure! now there will be 2 days of the week where she could possibly be alone for roughly 6 hours due to my job. And of course I will have a camara set up to keep an eye on her at all times. I wanna get her a feeder that gives her a certain amount of food every couple hours. also the crate will be inside a bigger rounded fence in the house so she does not roam around everywhere but still enough where she can play. do you think she will be fine?
