the PROBLEM with black billionaires (eat the rich includes Rihanna)

Black billionaires (or any billionaires) should NOT exist. Sorry, Navy, eat the rich includes Rihanna, too. Yes, Rihanna is a billionaire but save your congratulations. Just like all other billionaires, black billionaires should not exist. They’re guilty of the same theft and exploitation as the Internet’s mortal enemies, Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk. Kanye West literally stole from people at a Sunday Service. Black billionaires have to be held equally accountable for their harmful actions. Celebrating billionaires feeds into toxic “hustle” culture, and the way these past few years have been going… we ALL need some rest.

not half the comments missing your point entirely... one person of colour '''winning''' by being a billionaire comes at the cost of THOUSANDS of their own people and more losing thru exploitation, poverty, and workplace abuse. what is hard to understand about that people!!!!! not to mention the fact that everyone who's disagreeing w you seems to give zero fucks about the near modern day slavery that South/South East Asian people go through w sweatshops. how peculiar .

She's not talking about POC, she's specifically referring to Black folks and I fail to see how any of them got their money at the expense of Black folks. These factories are not in America and black folks aren't working in them. Is it sad? Sure, but let's be clear and honest the whole 7 Black folks that are Billionaires in this country all literally came from nothing. It was middle class or lower. This world has always and will always be about doing for self. There was no mention of all the philanthropic work that they do. And regardless of how you feel about them they have done A LOT, both publicly and privately. Oprah paid for 300+ black men to go to Morehouse. She's paid for countless black women's school as well. We're so quick to tear someone down and tell them what they're NOT doing or not doing enough while simultaneously not doing a damn thing. You wanna hold a few people accountable for what is truly a worldwide problem. Them rising above their circumstances utilizing the game that's been put in place isn't good enough right?? This is so tragic
@cynthiasoolihua2410
@cynthiasoolihua2410 2 года назад
@@essencenicole9731 so I specified POC because the point she was making is something you can broaden to encompass all ethnicities (and yeah, even white people). furthermore, I think your "I fail to see how any black folk were exploited" is disturbingly similar to how whyte people didn't and don't care about the suffering of POC as long as it benefits them. what about Asian folk?? do you not care if they're exploited? I also don't think you understand just how ridiculously large a BILLION dollars is. philanthropic work is great and all but considering someone is a BILLIONAIRE you'd think they wouldn't need to rest their empire on the backs of modern slave labour right? like maybe just maybe they'd be able to afford compassionate and ethical business practices? like paying their labourers fairly/with a liveable income and not subjecting them to workplace abuse? or does insular opulence of the 1% (that you yourself will likely NEVER achieve btw) matter more than the lives, happiness, and safety of millions of exploited human beings. Is it because you'll just never meet them? that they're geographically too far for you to care? I think it's fucking pathetic that many people's first response to "millions are being effectively enslaved" is "well it props up one of my own so it's okay". do u know who you're sounding like? please reconsider your genuinely terrible take. before you 'gotcha!' me, yes I do in fact also believe Asian billionaires (even millionaires) are pointless and DEEPLY rooted in exploitation. so no, I'm NOT playing racial favourites.

Jay z doesn’t get to tell black kids to respect authority when his entire income, empire, and image profited of the aspects of rap culture that glorify crime and violence (because let’s be real, it’s not like jay z can get by one his sex appeal). And then he makes Bonnie and Clyde in ‘03, about being criminals on the run - and then they resurrected the Bonnie and Clyde archetype over a decade later for TWO tours that continue to glamorize the “on the run” lifestyle from authority. I’m not even half way through the video and his comments have me pressed.

@@Spongebob-lf5dn well thankfully what you believe isn’t California state law, where Fenty Beauty is made and produced by Kendo, which also produces a lot of other makeup brands and celeb makeup brands like Rare Beauty. Kendo abides by the strict law of California that requires detailed and precise documentation that proves materials have been sourced ethically and legally, therefore making Fenty Beauty an ethically sourced brand. But it’s more fun to believe she’s profiting off child labour in India, while simultaneously advocating for the rights of Indian farmers that aren’t protecting them as well as not protecting their children from child labour… it’s easy to believe a lie based of a random complaint not a fact or evidence, but it’s harder to believe provable facts. People like Jay Z, Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Kanye West do many things for Black people across America. But they can’t be another MLK when the people who make their products are peeing in cups and making 6 dollars a DAY. There is no such thing as an ethical billionaire. If jobs paid well being a SW wouldn’t be looked at as glamorous for many young women. They need to raise the wages. It’s not like these women are poisoning neighbourhoods with drGs or killing anyone. Yes, it shouldn’t be glamourised but as a therapist with my own private practice who see many people of different backgrounds, I can assure you that it isn’t typically the first choice for many. It’s a last resort. We need to quit policing womens bodies and life choices. I don’t see people having this same animosity towards pimps and men that sell drGs to make ends meet.

Yeah. Well I for one was glad that rap and hip hop *finally* moved away from just men glorifying crime and murder with the younger generation, but for the most part it seems like these days female rappers did that. Female rappers have also finally felt comfortable not having to market themselves as extremely tough and masculine to appeal to or fit in with men, but rap as themselves. Rap about womenhood. There are a lot better female rappers regarding the diversity and subject matter of their songs today than the clearly harmful mentality that clout-chasing crime glorification brings. Male rappers imo haven't caught up all the way. People keep saying "why you blaming the music", but the type of music sets a mentality, especially from how much black culture and music are interwoven. I don't blame the music. I want it to *be better*, with criticism of it for quality control.

So why cheapen it and take advantage of people? Because if she actually challenged the way global supply chains function her rich friends wouldnt be happy.

As someone who leans left I agree Billionaires have to exploit people to obtain that much money. I just feel this video is coming at people who are playing the game thats existed for centuries. When you become a musician your aim is money. If we really want to focus on income inequality make videos on how ppl can get involved in their community and what politicians who are in charge. Beyoncé Rihanna Jay Z are celebrities not elected officials. There’s no true way as average ppl to hold them accountable if the laws in place allow to them to do so. Im not saying this as an excuse I just feel in these topics we go to hard at people who can’t undo centuries of economic oppression.

Since we’re dealing with the concept of individual actions and responsibilities relating to how these celebrities got rich through the twisted realities of capitalism, Beyoncé shouldn’t be in this conversation. Not because she doesn’t have her fair share of accusations and proofs relating to exploitation outside her music endeavours but she’s NOT a BILLIONAIRE. It was also wrong to have associated her to Jay, both as a single billionaire entity, she does not need to be in his shadows and also does not possess the instruments to be in the billionaire hierarchy. Rihanna on the other hand is victim of her own business choices. How do you think capitalism work? No billionaire is SELF made and none is righteous. She does try to give out some of what she has accumulated through her non-profit Clara Lionel Foundation. She’s not a saint but neither is she to be entirely blamed.
