Silentheart DOESNT mean you deny the song. The name is confusing and I blame the devs for making it odd, but the it works is essentially that you deny the WORDS of the song. Mantras aren't called mantras for no reason, they are chants, lyrics. When you get silentheart you are told your heart is changed to the drumbeats of the world and of the song. You exchange magic, HUMAN abuse of the song, in exchange for the more primal drumbeats of the world. Bells and murmurs are not the words or lyrics, so they do not count. Mantras and songchant are highly refined versions of the song. Whatever silentheart uses is raw. Essentially, you go ape mode, Ted Kaczynski "The Cantaclysm and it's consequences have been a disaster for Lumen's races" mode, and you start sending pipe bombs into mantra trainers mailboxes. You don't deny the song, you use pre-cantaclysmic song, maybe. I think. Maybe Arch said something in the discord that disproves all of this or perhaps I'm delusional. I'm just going off of what I've seen in game. I will agree with you that the lore just seems everywhere and is not properly written into gameplay or even fucking item descriptions. The discord should not be an actual place to commonly refer to when it comes to finding out what's true in the lore. It's not "soulslike storytelling," it's random stuff splattered everywhere with no real direction.

Kenith is in layer 2 because of his resolve, your souls strength/weight is not dependent on physical strength, but also your mental strength, he resisted the mind veil lord regent placed on the city and even desired to reveal the truth of what's happening in the city. His determination and ability to resist the mind veil made his soul heavy enough to go to layer 2. Not everyone down there is a godslayer, the npc in the railway is probably down there due to their desire to study and learn everything about the kyrsans to the point their soul was deemed strong enough to end up down there.

Tbh the real lore is how the devs all have their own ideas of the lore

One of the points you made is that shopkeepers sell the training item for shadowcast even though it is illegal. The training item says in its description that it is blessed gem. Now an inconsistency would be why we cannot use it.

the maestro weapons are a set of enchantable legendary weapons, its just inconsistent what they decide is enchantable for "balance reasons" even though purple cloud is absolutely broken and the fact its enchantable does not help

Devs need to stop talking about lore and make players more incentivized to exlpore the world for lore like the secret updates. For example how you find the diver journals (aside from looking up a walktrough) is exploration

My friend managed to play the game for over 6 months, prog several builds, and get high elo and didn't learn about the lore timeline until I explained it to him. If that doesn't show how badly it is all over the place then I don't know what does. Also just to clarify silentheart rejects the words of the song, not the song itself. this video has a ton of mistakes: Lord Regent sits on the coral throne all the time because it’s what allows him to cast the mind veil (source: arch mage, operation puppet master book) Silentheart doesn’t make you outright reject the song, its a pact with the Dreadstar to purge those who abuse the song, which is a much weaker application of a drowned god’s power. while it only makes you cast away mantras with a vow, not the song outright (source: dreadstar dialogue, kaide dialogue, vows by the sea: inheritance, silentheart card description) orlandeau got banished to floor 2 because he was a pirate and that was his punishement (source: tutorial, f2 orlandeau dialogue, klaris dialogue) railblade isnt an application of one’s own magic, it mechanically constantly produces it’s own heat (source: railblade description) why cant you just move at the high speeds that you move at when using tacet mantrad any time you want? ever heard of ether my friend? i dont really know a source that states shadowcast is outright illegal, can you point that one out?

Actually, I read all the lore stuff off the wiki. But yeah, the game never tells you it's your soul getting sucked into the Depths, from which you can directly infer that everyone is just straight immortal aside from true death, which only occurs in the Depths. Reservoir and tempo were a combat system rework, unrelated to the lore. Also, generally shadowcast itself isn't necessarily illegal, it's apparently just because the Ministry use it. There is very obviously a normal way to obtain shadowcast (via Umbral Obsidian and the proper knowledge/people). The guy in the story most likely used some type of failed method that led to taking the entire ether of a person permanently. Resonances aren't an application of the Song, they're just a power created by the soul. I find it much weirder that they're capable of using Murmur, which is literally an application of the Song. Anyways, the "silent heart" that Silentheart replaces your heart with is capable of sustaining your life through its own power, while also blocking off the Song. Also, Captain Orlando's getting jumped by the Divers if he tries to kill Klaris. And in case you haven't noticed, there happens to be someone called Akira who is most definitely going to retaliate if he attempts to actually kill Klaris. Visionshapers are meant to continue hunting Owls, so of course the Owls are going to still attack them. It's just a game for them. In some universes Heaven and Earth are opposites, while Hell is a completely seperate dimension existing outside of both of them. So this checks out. I just want to mention, Captain Orlandeau really isn't all that. He can survive and plunder quite well, sure, but he is not capable of slaying the Scion of Ethiron. Much unlike us.

My theory on silentheart. Is that as we know silentheart replace your heart technically. So my theory is that the "heart" is also the "soul" and vice versa so I think what silentheart really does is give your soul the ability to live without the song or silentheart replaces the need for song kind of like replacing a golden egg with a bag of sand on a booby trap

few months ago the Rogue Construct got it's Lifeweave stuff removed and only does it's physical attacks and the weird fire bomb slam. So it'd make sense why it wouldn't have any major use for reverse engineering lifeweave cause the Devs could just say it weakened over time in Minityrsa or just say it's an older model. Plus the golems seem to explode on death so honestly I could see why they never get a chance to study them, nothing left to study if the hunk of (metal? rock?) is blown up with any magic along it. Still, would love to see overtime map changes and certain explanations for why certain characters live despite how much time passed.

The reason hives advancements havent made it in game yet is because the aratel is one of the smallest greathives in the lore. The hive has a ton of greathives spread out everywhere trying to siphon the life and grow their own trees and land and the bigger ones are probably where the technology and biggest weapons are

Duke is actually better than Kennith, Duke found a loophole, heres why. His bell is Duke’s main source of power, but resonance isn’t tied to how powerful you are as a person. Duke has the most powerful bell in the game, but since that’s not how the depths work he gets scotch-free going to layer 1 instead of layer 2. Kennith really just got skrewed over.

The legion are so weird. How is there not a camp or base at hive, considering you see them there constantly fighting authority officers. They only have a super tiny camp in a cave at lower Erisia.

All mobs have Tacet which you can see if you've seen mobs despawn and the hive mech at minitrysa is called a "rogue mech" for a reason(it doesn't belong to the hive anymore).

I know I'm months late to this, but at the end of the day it's just a Roblox game. I wouldn't expect it to give us insane lore behind every weapon out of the 134 something weapons in the game and balance the weapons accordingly to the lore, Especially Legendary weapons, it sounds like a fun and cool idea till you run into a lore accurate Pyre Keeper or Gran Sudaruska and get one shot. I think lore in the game is just something they added because it made the world seem a bit more lived in, Basically just throwing a book in front of your nose and saying "This is a tale of a hero who did this and this is why they're worshipped" - I don't think it plays a huge role right now especially since Deepwoken and its "story" side is incomplete as hell.

We have exchanged it for one aligned with our ideals, deafened to the chaos of the Song. You are Silent now, hateful one. chaos of the song can be reffered to mantras only or attunments while your bell is the extention of song it merges your song and soul together it isnt chaos of the song

A few of your points are slightly flawed. Do correct me if I misunderstand any of them, however, I believe there are some explanations due: First of all, Shadowcast itself is not technically illegal, but it is taboo, and is considered to be only used by cultists. It is likely that you would be restrained only on the absis that you are involved with the occult and thus, by proxy, may be affiliated with certain crimes. However, your considering example specifically, Etreans would likely turn a blind eye consider the Mind Veil that has been placed on them by the Lord Regent to keep them docile and unquestioning of the past of Etrea and the identities of both himself and many officials. This may likely include a "blindness" to Shadowcast, as a result of The Ministry being proficient in its usage, though this is speculation. Secondly, Greathive Aratel has been described by yayafino to be one of the most technologically inept Greathives in all of Lumen; which is stating something comparatively speaking. The "mechs with plasma canons" you speak of are present in other, more technologically up-to-date Greathives, and it is likely that these mechs are piloted by only very high-ranking military officials, such as Polis. Soldiers of The Hive we see in-game are all also relatively low-ranking and likely given standardized, low-access equipment as a result. The Hive being "racist" is a misconception that many make, as well; with yayafino accidentally stating that in a few interviews. The Hive has always been a democratic republic and is willing to elect any race into their ranks so long as they agree with their ideology, the only exception being the sole position of Greatlord. Additionally, the Rogue Hive Construct in Ministrya was hacked by The Ministry and is under their control. As for the point made on Shadowcast's original obtainment, while this is possible, it is also equally likely that, over time, The Ministry pinpointed the materials necessary to construct Attunement Potions to mass-distribute to other members of The Ministry (considering routine sacrifices of civilians or other lower-ranking Ministry members would be incredibly difficult and time-consuming). Lore-wise, some non-Attunement legendary weapons would likely be enchantable. Lore, in-game, does not equate to a 1:1 gameplay ratio. This would be impossible to keep track of. I do agree with your statement that there should be some justification. Now, a major point that you brought up; The Song is somewhat of a "magic force," in layman's terms. It does not hinder nor foster the development of life. The evolution of humanity through the usage of it is inherently linked to death (Great Drownings). Lightkeepers are also incapable of using The Song in any way, shape, or form; which many theorize is the cause of their "Gift." The Song has nothing to do with the birth of life and does not inherently sustain it. Furthermore, Silentheart rejects the WORDS of The Song, meaning mantras. All other aspects of it are fair game to The Dreadstar. Kenneth presumably has a stronger mental resolve than The Duke, hence why he drowns further. Last I remember, the Captain is... entirely unrelated to Klaris and... did not consume a piece of a Drowned God? Maybe that whole segment was a joke that I missed. Klaris also never made Dawnwalker with the intention of it being an Attunement, just a scientific recreation of Lightkeep with combat-oriented intentions.

But, if you are making a video on _why the lore sucks_ you should probably understand it. No hate or anything, I like your content, but understanding the thing you're criticizing is content creation 101. And like yeah, I get it, the lore can be so obtuse and obnoxious to actually learn, but if you are making a video pointing out the flaws in said obtuse thing, you're still expected to learn it. And, god knows the Deepwoken community already has enough of that. That being said, you bring up some pretty fair points in this video, most of which I agree on, though there's a few lore examples here that I still think make sense. Like, with the Silentheart thing, resonances are stated to be different from attunements in lore, that attunements are a sort of perversion or abuse of the song while resonances aren't. The Dreadstar calls out the "abuse of the song" and "heretical attunements," clearly bro just has beef with the attunements and not the song as a whole.

Made a post in the deepwoken sub a while ago exactly avout this. A few things you missed: Where are the other ministry guys (we currently know number 4 (lord regent) number 2 (chaser's master though you only know about him if you search discord) number 1 (the deepwoken, again its only on discord). The justicars, theres literally no lore about them, they just exist No explanation for the magic behind the barrier on castle ligth We dont even see any of the work ligthkeepers (funky guys that stay in the lighthouse) do, and supposedly we need then to cross luminants. Sky statues (this one i think theres a explanation on discord too but idk)

Silentheart should fully reject the song. I don't care if they only reject mantras and allow other song amplification. You either reject song fully or use song. The dread star could be a collection of attumentless users seeking revenge for attunement users killing them and Dread star allows you to live without a song because you are being powered by souls of attumentless users. Attumentless - why there's no attumentless discrimination? Like in the world where people can manipulate life, you have absolutely nothing. You should be treated like a loser and then make your way up to gain respect. Klaris is a loser, Captain on top🔥🔥🔥 I wish there was more player lore, like we are drowned and we have a DEEPWOKEN skill tree talent which is directly from lore, but we have no player lore progress. Our characters know Erisor. A mysterious figure and yet we have no info about him, our characters just don't try to find out about their past, they just don't care. Ageing as mechanic sucks, there should be rewards for keeping your builds, like some exclusive talents, there's no point in keeping 200 years old build other these builds being a cosmetics for player
