After Rahmaan Mohammadi, 17, organised a fundraiser for Palestine at his school in Luton, he found himself under investigation by the anti-radicalisation programme Prevent, with visits to his home by the police. He finds out more about the strategy and its implementation and speaks to others who have been investigated as well as MPs and community leaders.

So guess what im saying is, if you had nothing to live for, they could easily push someone into doing something vile. Withoit all of the disgusting abuses of power i listed above, just knowing you're being monitored for three years has a massive effect on your overall well being. PREVENT is more like a terrorist creation program.

What price is security worth? Would white Britons accept this level of surveillance in exchange for a lower chance of being blown up on the morning commute? idk, I certainly would, but I understand how A. That can be seen as illiberal and B. How groups who already feel institutionally excluded by the government wouldn't trust that government with their privacy

"why investigate me in the first place if I haven't done anything" That's the whole point of investigations - to find out whether he has done / will do something illegal. If Prevent had known whether or not he'd done something, then there wouldn't have been an investigation. Seriously. A Masters student.

So why didnt the universtiy go round investigating random people on campus? By "didnt do anything" im sure he meant, "didnt do anything to suggest an investigation in the first place", not "didnt commit a terrorist act" So the university gave him a book and investigated it because he was reading it.
