this video is pretty true, people only focus on halos and expensive sets. they should also add suits and a few masculine outfits. sure, dresses and glams are more for woman, according to most people. Now that you've mentioned it, the fact that business attire is only usually found in masculine clothing is a bit shocking to me and I've NEVER ,despite playing the game for nearly three years, have I noticed this and it just kind of proves your point in a way (I think), I really hope Royale High fixes this or puts more business-like outfits in feminine clothing for more equal diversity :)

y’all said the things i’ve had on my mind for so long. i like feminine AND masculine styles, but whenever i wanted to dress up my character in a masculine way, there weren’t many options, and out of the existing masc choices, i didn’t like any of them. also, i teared up when you said “you don’t have to give up your femininity to pursue a career in male-dominated areas”. that line just hit me hard ❤️ stay safe to anyone reading this
I understand the desire for feminine formal clothing, but I'd like to point out as a nonbinary person that this video feels very much like it ignores the intentional change the devs made from a 'boys and girls' outfit catalog to a 'masculine and feminine' outfit catalog. It would be nice if they had more feminine options that were business casual, but reducing it down to 'Feminine = for women and girls' and 'masculine = for men and boys' feels very reductive and I believe misinterprets the whole point of the categories being called that. What I think they should do is perhaps leave more emphasis on the fact anyone of any gender can wear clothing from either section for any reason they please, because lets be honest, pieces of fabric don't care about their wearer's gender. Of course, this is just how ~I~ feel about this. I respect your view and do hope they add more feminine business attire so that characters can more easily present feminine and still dress for their career.

This is so true, I have known people who are the age of 6 who play this game and I feel that these young kids should be able to dress up as a business woman or a career person. I believe Royale high should add some dress or other things for business people or woman. Look at some of Jenstines characters for example she has a lot of business woman and I to believe that you shouldn’t have to go to the boys area to get something for your female character. I agree with you Jenstine, business outfits for woman should be added. 💕
they do have dresses for like business things but they don't have things like business suits and such. I agree too that we should have it as Royale high was working on stuff like that I can tell you because in sunset island they added another type of gender on the board o they were clearly thinking of that category but must have blind sighted this since they do have so much they are working on such as the new school, Halloween and ect. hopefully after though they do add it as soon as possible. I'd say it's worth the wait of the new school if it means we can have more formal business attire that aren't dresses
What isn't the game like 8+?- when I was downloading roblox or any other game I look at the age in the playstore but I agree with u young kids after playing they will be like 'business carrier is not for women' but am not trying on rh but they should add some business clothing in the femine section because as they see this, they will understand that business is not only for women but everybody! :)
i can rlly relate with this video. when i was younger i would always go into the “boys section” for clothes in royale high bc all the others were too “girly” for me. even though i’m not in the rh fandom anymore, when i was i never saw anyone talking about what the game needs to work on. thank you for making this video i think it’s great that ur using your platform for the better
I would do this too when I started royal high I was "going through my tomboy phase" (2017) and I would only wear the boys clothes with no makeup or skirt. I felt so weird going into the "boys" category. To be honest now that my style is more "feminine" I feel better playing royale high which is so weird and that should not be the case its honestly sad
Yeah but I don’t think they have to change because royale height is literally a dress up princess fairytale game so it shouldn’t matter if that’s what it’s centered around because that’s what it’s meant to be centered around! Are you gonna get mad that it has most of the buttons in pink? Pink is a signature girl color! And just because there are only suits in the mens sections doesn’t mean that the game is being misogynistic it just means that typically in fairytales men wear suits and girls wear big frilly dresses! You don’t see me going around any other day wearing a petticoat and laced back bow! That’s reserved for dances and formal events.
This is why i am so happy that royale high finally added the december's dream set, it is the first set that finally has pants, jacket and a suit like shirt!

This is so true. I feel like women aren’t counted as being associated in a business. Most people forget what women can do to make a big change in society and we need to change people on how they look at women. Everyone can do what they put their mind to so we need to stop stereotyping and start believing!
I completely agree with this comment, currently I'm in high school and enrolled in a business class. I feel like women really should consider options for career outside of the stereotypical ones that outside media promote.

You have to understand that this is a dress up game not a role playing game ect. Women and Men belong to all areas of jobs, but yet again this is a dress up game and you have to understand that they cannot add every single style of clothing.

I feel like this topic is extremely overlooked, people usually focus on scamming or online dating and just mostly player behavior but some of these problems do have things to do with the developers as well. While, I’m not saying the developers are ruining royals high or anything like that because they play a big roll in creating such an amazing environment for players, though as this video states they do need to work on gender representation.
Another problem with the outfits for the girls is that a lot are a “short” styles or revealing outfits. I can understand in the swimming category if there are more short tops and styles, but the fact that there are so many in the normal outfit column is quite concerning. I know that most of the rh players don’t actually use the skin outfits that often, so it’s easy to over look such issues, but there are younger children playing and this gives them the wrong message. I actually see a lot of new players wearing colourful (pink,blue etc) colours or the classic blonde hair with a slightly too revealing outfit. It just shows a really bad stereotype :(
And it doesn't really affect kids they will just wear what they want to wear in the game if their parents don't teach them what it's ok and not ok to wear at their age and they don't have to wear skimpy clothes to be pretty then that's on them
in the roblox catalog, I was looking for a nice Shirt for my feminine roblox avatar, and literally EVERYTHING was a crop top. Same with Royale High because I looked there and saw the same problem. This is an annoying issue amongst the whole Roblox platform in my opinion.

Please remeber that RH is a fairytale game not a modern day game.Donr hate on the developers.They know what they are doing.If you are making modern related content,play rp city games not RH because RH is a game about fantasy and fairies and I don't think it is about modern day style and about the boy clothes,that is formal wear to the ballroom not for business since the ball is the only formal place.

In real life, I lean more towards the "tom boy" section for my style and without much representation for my style in the Royale High catalog, it discourages me because I have to search through the masculine category which is not ideal. Thank you for bringing this up, because most RU-vidrs only talk about trading values and how things are so expensive.

yes, but it makes creating characters a little harder. Let’s say, I wanted to make a male character, so I go to the “Clothes” section and I find skirts and dresses and outfits with female parts on them. Wouldn’t that be super confusing? I think they should keep the masculine and feminine but just add a “tomboy” or “formal” option on there.

What bothers me is, theirs barley any casual clothing for the feminine side, like light blue casual rip or non rip jeans, like the ones where you buy stuff with gems, likes skirts but instead of skirt make a category of jeans instead in that area, fashionable. their should be a section for beautiful jeans for women and for male separately,they expect only girly attires, like no room for tomboy or city attire without always a skirt?! Theirs more glam more makeup more pop of colors less casual colors for people who don’t always want to have a colorful outfit or a goth fashion outfit example of this would be light orange, long shirts at the market place color could be light yellow with a small orange in the front, same with Y2K outfits, try a bit of cargo pants that are brown or green top it off with a white shirt, trust me it’ll look good! At the gem shop, not to expensive and not to cheap in the middle, like you said theirs no businesswomen Clothing, only for men. theirs less likely to change peoples faces, a less makeup look and more of a soothing, calm natural face look but still hints of a hit of makeup where you can just go to the category on faces to find something like that, their should be a balance of less makeup and what I said before, but still have a category for a very makeup face, for me it be less, it’s be a nice toned with nice blush and lashes gloss lips or just neutral lip color very light shade of eyeshadow brown and that’s it.

Masculine doesn’t mean man. Women can wear masculine stuff, and are exactly as much of women as before. And you don’t “give up” femininity when you wear masculine attire. It’s one of the nice things about them changing the names from boy and girl to masculine and feminine, it makes it clearer that anyone can wear anything.
Okay I can see where your coming from, but Kids won't look at the outfits this way, either they will pick from the girl section or boy section, they don't think this deeply. I started playing royale high as a young kid, the age most players are today, and my friends, family, and I who all played never though of this that way.
Think about it. Why do some kids scoff at men wearing dresses? It’s because the subtle details the have been taught to them subconsciously. Most parents don’t have a talk about how women can’t be in generally male dominated careers, but if their parents make one subtle comment about a women in that career, it will stick with them. It’s also a matter of low representation. Kids will disapprove of something if it hasn’t been shown to them before because the human instinct to stick with familiarity, so imagine how never seeing women in business clothing would effect their opinions growing up. Royale high could positively effect so many children’s life if they just represented a more diverse selection of clothing, which sounds crazy to say, but you wouldn’t believe the impact it could create.

@@rabbitautopsy Personally, I haven't either, but maybe that's due to me never leaving the house. I was more talking about how some people are judged, in royale high, for wearing traditionally feminine clothes. I also think if you are taught not to judge others at first glance since you were young, then it would make sense you wouldn't have those thoughts. Though, most times, this isn't always true. Representation is important, and if you only see women wearing skirts and bright pink clothing ( Not that there's anything wrong with this style) it'll make you ease into the idea of women only dressing this way. I don't think this is a reason to dislike the game, but I think diversity in clothing would be considerate. Similarly to how they included multiple pronouns in the beauty pagent, it could make people with not so traditionally feminine styles more welcome.

I agree, this really is a problem. Even my channel logo outfit had to come from the masculine section, as i could not find anything that was just a casual jeans and black t shirt I really hope one of the developers see this!
I never really thought about how royale high had “masculine” and “feminine” clothing options. Now that I realize what’s going on, I see that this can have a big effect on people’s futures. I think that royale high should eliminate the “feminine” and “masculine” categories and just have the clothing and makeup sections on their own. Lots of kids all over are playing this game, and I think kids should grow up thinking that it’s ok for women to wear suits, it’s ok for men to wear dresses, etc. thanks for having me think about this today.
But feminine is more of like girly and dresses and stuff and masculine is more boyish and suits . masculine doesnt always refer to men as a girl can also be masculine while a boy can be feminine also it most likely wont impact a childs its more of how the childs parented than a game with lego people. I agree with this for the most part, but remember that the clothing sections are called "feminine and masculine" not "boys and girls" anymore. obviously there are some feminine variations of feminine suits/business attire, that devs should consider adding, however feminine doesn't equal female. a woman can wear masculine clothing and nothing would be taking away her femininity. suits are mainly classed masculine clothing, not just in royale high but in the real world too. royale high isn't trying to tell us "girls wear this boys wear that" but simply categorizing clothing and feminine and masculine. remember why they changed the labels from "boys to girls" to "feminine and masculine" in the first place

Short story: I let my mom make a rh outfit. When she went in the feminine section it was just VERY VERY short dresses so she was kinda confused about that. That was the moment I realised it too!

There was one time i was roleplaying and i wanted to be the principle but i couldnt find anything that a principle would really wear so i just settled with a big fancy dress. it was ok but i would have prefered a blazer or something💖
tbh this whole problem is for roblox too. like honestly, every. single. thing. for girls is a crop top. for me to find a blue sweatshirt that’s not a crop, it took days and me searching for boys blue shirts.
i am feminine and im obsessed with royale high's skirts / fem sets / etc. , whilst my girlfriend is masculine. she isn't into royale high and i think it would help her a lot if they added more masculine sets or things for people who identify this way , not just items that are masculine = boys ( if that makes sense ??? ) she could just not be into the game , but when we did play together , i noticed her struggle picking out clothes to wear ( especially during the prom event ) . she would end up wearing a tux , and i dont really find it fair that ppl like her have to dig hard for an outfit they are comfortable with.
They also re did a clothing set. The corset was very normal looking, it wasn't insanely skinny too the point it looked unhealthy. But you wanna know what they did? They re-did it and made it much more skinnier.
I can actually agree with this, I used to be a royale high player. At first I was sad without having anything good, and about a couple months later I had nice stuff, until my mindset changed that. I wanted a halo, I played it 24/7, I started getting diamonds and everything I got my dream shoes and soon realized I did it for nothing. I then tried to gain it back, and then made a stupid trade because I was upsessed at getting my things back, after that I was back at where I started. And seeing this video makes a voice, and I agree with you 100%. I also once I played another game on Roblox, I was expecting the royale high avatars and all, and I realized that was only one game of a trillion that I would get to wear that. I also have quieted royale high and all, maybe if they did what your thinking Jenstine, I would probably start playing it again to be honest. No hate but, it’s a fairy princess dress up game. Little girls don’t want to be business people in a school setting with magical beings all around them. It’s called Royal High, not Business Simulator. If they wanted to pretend to work then they’d play a different game.
This is why I quit royal high, there are tons of bad massages in it. Also always thought it was weird you could buy different accessories that would make your chest, legs, and other body parts different or what they say (glamorous). Thank you for brining this up
I have noticed this, and one of the worst parts is that a lot of the devs are women, so the fact that I can find a tshirt and jeans without it being super feminized is kind of sad.

I think the best solution for this would be to let players import clothing codes. Also I HATE how there isn’t a shirt/plants separated option like the masculine. That’s why I never use the clothes and just mix and match the sets
I have a whole list of problems I don’t see people talk about 1) Body shape. When it comes to set there is one body shape for both male and female. 2) There are no masculine version of sets for girls. What if you like the male version better? 3) people of other gender, you are either feminine or masculine and there’s no in between what does that say for non binary people? 4) It is almost impossible to get large amount of diamonds to buy acces and sets with unless you buy all game passes. Seems like a pretty Shitty thing to do. . Especially since this is a kids game.
Royale high also has the issue of not realising an update or school but we can tell how small the team is so i dont mind that people must be grateful as life is hard also i might be late to this video but i just want to inform about this issue.

I agree. I just feel like they need to add a new category and maybe add new outfits such as formal and some other outfits that aren’t so “glam”, because people can get annoyed and then having to go to the men’s section.
I remember my original plan was to go as Elle Woods in RH for haloween but i coulnt find any formal buisness-like outfit in pink, there were some magenta in the boys's section but nothing was close to pink formal lawyer-ish attire, so i just wore a random outfit for haloween
I total agree with this! Although I do love the feminine clothing, not all females wear skirts and dresses. The same goes for the hairstyles, I usually struggle finding a hairstyle that looks like mine. (I have pretty short hair) So I always end up going to the masculine hairstyles 😅
Yep! I completely agree with you. However I find myself struggling to find any hairstyles in the masculine section that are long. Men can have long hair and women can have short hair, gender does not affect appearance.

Royal high dose not have Business clothes because it was originally made for role plays that includes Princess and stuff so of course it’s not going to be any business clothing’s
When I was younger, I was so upset about the options in Royale high. I grew up too fast and knew about how problematic the options were. And I stopped playing. I’m now in the diversity club in school, and sometimes talk to classes about these topics :)
I was 13 when royale high came out. so I was starting telling myself I couldn’t be a Businesswoman because in sunset island there was the theme “ when I grow up” I couldn’t find any woman Business suits I was super disappointed because I wanted to be a Businesswoman.
Also, one of the problems you said at the beginning about sets being really expensive. I can back up this statement by saying me myself have NEVER gotten a full set before. Grinding the diamonds is something I really don’t wanna do but if I wanna not be an eyesore then I will have to spend a lot of time on it and it’s painful for me ;-;
as a royal high player, many people know like vibe skins- and I saw a lot of players using skins like those. btw Idrc about using avatars like that- I just have a problem with oders in rh. Also, the sitting pose in royal high is like vibe games
I would most definitely agree, this is not a great message to be sending out to anybody. I think Royale high could also do with some more casual sets and accercories, as I find most of the girl clothes are very princess-like, with skirts and corsets. I do understand the point of the game is to be a princess or whatever, but I find I'm always doing slightly more modern roleplays and while there are some casual clothing items in the game, I would still say it's another thing it's lacking so sue me XD

We need more fashion variety in Royale High PERIOD. As much as I love them and it's the gimmick of the game, I hate seeing "poofy kawaii dress number 10,000". It's too overdone and we need more variety. Look to the past, there's plenty of dress and gown designs from the top designers of yesterday that influence the realm of fashion today!! More glamorous gowns, trumpet or mermaid cut dresses, vintage Dior silhouettes, and yes, more business and tailor-made designs as well. I hope the creators get inspired eventually because the recent set was just... egirl fashion. No fantasy to it at ALL. At least Shadow Empress had an interesting take on it, an edgy look for sure but also it looks like it is part of the princess game.
