This was annoying because I am very pregnant and was sick of cleaning the pee going under. I asked them to send me a whole new unit and haven't had the problem since.

They sent you a new unit? Ours arrived today & it's cracked! I emailed them. I'm hoping for a replacement. It's going to be a pain to send this one back, but I don't want to pay that kind of money & have it arrive cracked.

We just got one in June of 2023 and it comes with a very nice shield now. Cats hopped right in too! We’re already enjoying the benefits and plan to remove the original litter box tomorrow after just a few days with the new one. Yay!

We have the older litter 3 and are very pleased with it. So is our kitty. I had an issue with a safety sensor so I went on the Litter Robot forum and found an easy fix. I was surprised a company rep read my post and contacted us for a follow up and offered free parts and advice if needed. Impressive.

Interesting, I got my LR 4 in Oct 2022 and it did not come with the "upgraded" shield with plastic. I contacted Customer Support about how to prevent the urine from going underneath the globe, and their response was that I should try different clumping litter and make sure the litter levels were appropriate 🙄

Between this and the delay on the litter hopper (claimed to be an option for the 4 before launch but at launch still in process) as well as issues a friend has with it glitching and not functioning automatically, I'm pretty happy with my 3.

It's true they sent out 3D printed shields with the 4s. We've got 2 of the 3 connects, which are an upgrade path if you want shields where the 4 needs it so they're included. I have so few complaints about the 3. Most of those were solved in the 4 and the 4s only real issue is one of working too good almost and sometimes the dirty little will be shaved off the top of the drawer into the bottom chamber. Easy fix with a handy vac. Thanks for your videos they helped us decide to try the 4s

That's disappointing to hear. I gave up on them after my LR3 tray sensor failed about 3 months after the extended warranty was up. After back and forth troubleshooting they told me the only option I had was to ship it to them to be fixed.

what was most bothersome to me was the fact that due to the litter robot 4 not being sealed, it attracted flies inside of the poop drawer, which resulted in a maggot and fly infestation that seemed never ending and was difficult to battle. I had to power off the robot, dismantle and clean it (gross maggots and eggs inside big time) and use it as a manual litter box, scooping regularly until the issue was resolved. Has anyone else had this issue?

YAAASS!!! The urine getting underneath the litter robot 4 is AWFUL!!! Apparently I have a cat that is a terrible entry way pee-er and it seems like I am having to take my LR4 apart every couple of weeks because the smell is so awful. I have to sop up the pee and continually spray and soak it up. It is in a portion that holds the wires so you cannot spray this down to get it really cleaned either.

We got the LR 4 today, set it all up, my cat used it right away, which is great, but then my daughter noticed it's cracked on the side. I'm not happy. These are way too expensive to arrive cracked. I did email the company, so hopefully, they'll respond soon. How's customer service?

That is a very expensive piece of equipment and there is no way that there should be design flaws like that considering that that was the fourth iteration of it lol. I have to think long and hard as to if I want to pay that kind of money for something designed poorly.

I have 3 cats using my litter robot 4. Occasionally I get a glitch in the system but made sure I synched with my cellphone so I know if the clean cycles are working properly. So far it’s 85% better than a plain litter box!

Constant over torque faults. Done all of the trouble shooting. It just doesn't seem to want to move litter around.

FLINGS THINGS OUT My LR4 flings things out as it cycles. This has happened multiple times - - where I've found an incident or literally watched it happen. Its not my cat pushing things out, but the lr sending something flying as it is cycling. There needs to be an update asap that makes the clean cycle run slower. Anyone else have this issue? I've tried with the guard. Without the guard. Even tilting the robot back a bit. Commenting this everywhere so i can get a fix faster.

I checked the Tuff+Paw out and was shocked at the price of plastic boxes but was grateful they explained why it costs so much. Thanks for sharing what you like. Knowing folks get paid to tell what they "like", sometimes it's so hard to find what really works.

Im very disappointed in the litter robot 4. I really hoped it will help. It scooped the litter okay, but now i have another problem: it is soooo dificult to clean. In the last few days the roboter got stuck twice in the wrong position and my cats still used him so the poop and urine was not where its supposed to be. To clean this whole mess up it really is time consuming. Recently ive seen an add for furoomate. It really seem like a really great litter roboter. Lokks easy to clean. Is open. Only flaw it isnt out yet 😅

My cat just goes to the balcony to it's litter I was so sick of breathing in that smell everyday. So far it's been working just need to make sure my cat can access the balcony at night

A small chance. The LR4 sensors are fallible, so there is a possibility that the cat detection could fail and allow it to turn while a cat is inside. The nice thing with the LR4 is that it has multiple sensors to protect against this, so more than one would have to fail at the same time for this to occur. In the LR3, the weight sensor requires a cat weighing 5+ lbs, so it could move with a kitten or tiny cat inside. However, a pinch sensor is intended to stop the globe if a cat is stuck inside. Again, sensor malfunctions are possible, and this is just one point of protection that would need to fail. So overall, there is some risk, though it overall is engineered with safety in mind and seems to be quite effective in this respect.
