If i am not mistaken: Dragonfang = M249 Nykorev = PKM M249 uses 5.56x45mm PKM uses 7.62x54mm Stats should be switched; The Nykorev should raid and take high cal instead of the Dragonfang.
I think that a x3 health raise to structures and making brick buildings upgradable to a theoretical lv4 with enough metal would have been enough. Raiding is cool for the raiders, but is not fun for the guys that took months to build a decent base, so buffing the defenders a bit makes sense.

Raiding opinions: -I honestly would not put any blame on p9 for the raiding update, because tbf i think everyone wanted it to happen in some capacity. I'd put more blame on the more "ex-veterans" who are adamant on "vanilla" being so good despite refusing to play the game themselves, there's plenty of those on the subreddit, forum, and even YT to an extent. -I think everyone was kind of confused by the way the raiding nerf was carried out, i think the only good thing to come of it was including the detonator in the horde beacon recipe. Other than that, nobody expected the nykorev to get neutered or the hell's fury to get some ugly ass recoil pattern. I still hear a lot of the "newer" generation of players complaining about this update to this day, I think the prime example would be a polish youtuber "retu" who's expressed his distaste for the update several times in his videos. And of course there's also P9, who literally quit for a couple months after the update, which is why I think it is unfair to criticise him for this. He was impacted pretty much more than anyone else. -IMO it would've been sufficient to just simply to do a 2x HP buff for all buildables, and I think this would've made everyone happier. Video opinions: -Chapter 2 of the video kind of drags on in my opinion, you seem to repeat yourself and I don't really see a point in including pretty much the whole horde beacon fight. i feel like a new tier of building material would be nice to fix it, upgrades to built structures could be nice you use a hammer with metal baricades or something on a wall and its health goes up you wouldnt be able to tell if and how much its been upgraded so raiding a base would take more prep time and an actual reason instead of "we got killed once when fullgear". Guns that where raiding guns could use high caliber then it would be acceptable to reintroduce them as raiding guns. A better way to farm could also fix it by making bases easier to make raiding would be less of a necesity since you would just lose the ability to do so for barely anything rather keeping gear for raiding specific bases would be the meta.
I still use nykorev with bipod, ranger muzzle0%, crossscope, adaptive chambering. It is just terrifying making a suppressive fire and chopping tree(with hiding full gear behind it), so I have found good tactic for it, BUT I will want it to get buffed
If you really want to play casual I just got really good at the makeshift rifle which can two headshot most armors so you can snowball although I have played unturned for a really long time
I am using a hamachi server for me and and my friends to play and its been a blast adding mods and just dicking around, I think casual players need more lobby making capabilities for the game to be revived. A way to make a server for them and their friends *only* so they can play how they wanna play

Chapter three: You can get the Dragonfang in the Airport Tower, it’s rare drop but occasionally, it’s the first thing you can get when just joining a server and it’s hilarious. What are YOUR suggestions? Screw what the others think and present YOUR ideas to be implemented. I have my own server which is pure vanilla survival but few players come. I don’t play high loot servers with TPA and HOME, so it looks like we share the way we like the game.
sportshots are the best and if i find a detonator I make charges instead of horde now also when you said dragonfangs only spawn at deadzones and airdrops they also spawn in horde beacons on russia

The way Nelson went about doing this nerf definitely wasn't the best, but imo there was a need for it. Raiding in Unturned WAS too easy; it was so cancerous to the point that if you made a base it WOULD be gone by the next day just because some asshole blew all your shit up overnight and didn't need to put in any effort to do it. Not sure why you're painting this as if nobody asked for this but those two youtubers.
Late to give an Opinion but yes. Nykorev is half decent or half trash on Sentries or Horde Beacons. Or as a "Defence" Weapon. I played the Kuwait map and I did a horde beacon for a mission. It was only good around 10+ Sentries with Unlimited Gen...
Call me the minority, but I think raiding is completely fine the way it is now. Having two lmgs and a minigun in the horde beacon that could all raid along with the snipers was definitely overloaded, so spending your resources on a gamble that can actually fail now is a good change and keeps the RNG aspect of looting in tact. Bases are actually allowed to exist now on the floor instead of being held at the skybox and last for a couple of days so new people who can't devote that much time can actually spend time to upgrade and spend time on the game. The thing I would've changed however is maps loot tables and how they're balanced. On the smaller maps such as pei and Washington, you grind at a bandit location and receive rockets and rocket launchers while on Russia you'll find the same HOWEVER locked behind a deadzone requirement. Raw explosives feel much more rare on the larger maps despite the upscale whereas Washington I feel like every 10th zombie will drop some of it. The Nykorev change is great as it lets you put the second highest capacity gun in a sentry without someone throwing a grenade at it and using it to counter raid you, preventing offline raids that much more. If I had anything to add, I'd make military frag rounds more viable for a raiding standpoint and allow them to be filled with high caliber military ammo, or more rare vehicles with the HMG on top for low caliber raids with the risk of your vehicle being blown up. Vanilla feels more rewarding while semi vanilla (home and tpa) is just impossible with zergs skybasing above high tier loot areas, preventing anyone getting supplies for 12 hours a day because they can funny home right back into their shit shack. This is written by a FULL VANILLA perspective. But yeah make the Russian Nykorev able to raid walls that's a little rediculous.
Horde beacon zombie health is based on how many players in the same clan are doing the beacon so that’s why they took so long to kill. That loot sounded just about right. This video is just an opinion and so is this comment. Unturned is still the same
I think the main problem with raiding is actually how building is implemented in unturned, hiding loot in walls, floors, ect. No gravity meaning skybases galore, ect. Bases go up way too quick too, chopping down one tree gives you 2-3 walls. It's just super hard to balance raiding when building is so spammy and when people are always implementing guerilla loot hiding techniques. The only game I can think of with semi-alright base building/raiding is rust and that games base building/resource gathering mechanics are completly different from unturned. Not that rust doesn't have its own problems either.
I just wanted all the guns to be nerfed. Make LMGs good for PVP and make C4 the main way to raid, is it that hard Nelsone??? I dont raid often but I do get raided often, and theres just nothing you can really do.
i have 2600 hours this game got boring when the vannila server would allways die but what i didint like about unturned the most is base building even tho it had so many options and fun problem was that it took way to much time to build get resourcis while in the mean time rading tools were 10 times easy and and time consuming to get the amount of health of the wall and doors are stupind you cant have metal walls and doors the same amout of hp - rust did the right thing with raiding , too this day i still think after the nerf it is easyer to raid and get raiding items then building a secure protected base
Personally I think the raid update is needed but this is not what needed to change. What needed to change was how ridiculously easy it is to craft C4, as the only hard component was raw explosives. So you have this issue where you have a super long and boring grind to build your base up, only for it to take like an hour to get enough materials to raid most bases if your group is well coordinated. I used to host a completely vanilla server on Russia, after this patch, and even then, your base could be a metal fortress up in the sky, and if even a semi large group (4 people) wanted to raid your base. They can EASILY do it within a day starting from scratch. TLDR, Base building takes too long comparatively to how fast you can get the materials to raid said base. The only viable places to build bases are underwater or above deadzones. I think C4 should be a rare object you find in military zones, like how it is on Yukon, with standard C4 being instead replaced by a makeshift satchel charge. Wooden structures should also be destroyable by certain melee weapons but at an extremely slow rate. This way you cant cheese a raid by repairing everything with wood easily.
Well the raiding back in the day was super easy you could raid in like 2 hours and that was fucked up if you had a 7 man group you could demolish a base that took a month to build.. The horde beacon was an ok nerf but they buffed the walls thus nerfing the raiding weapons too and charges and rockets its really hard to raid a big base now even with a week of grinding plus on top of that people on vanilla log off with gear and play like rats lol Would be lovely if they at least buffed the rockets because they take so much and dont do shit lol
The mega zombie are getting stronger depends on how many are you in that place if you put the horde beacon in military base and there is 20 players there it will be god mode.

The way I understood it was that Charles thought that because YTers were doing raiding videos (and were asking for it to be changed? didn't clarify how, Charles) was probably why Nelson changed how the raiding goes. So when you did reach out to Nelson, just him mentioning youtube you linked that fact to the already existing thought of "hey it's this thing that was already in my thought-scape", but Nelson listed a plethora of other sites. Reddit and the Unturned Steam workshop/comments/complaints/threads is what I personally think affected Nelson's decision. A ton of 12 year olds crying because their 2 by 1 or 2 by 2 by 2 (if they bothered to play more than 2 hours) was raided. I did think it was too easy to destroy a base that takes 6 hours to build with loot you can get within an hour or two. The ratio is too steep. What I would have done was nerfed the damage, not taken it away entirely. And if I were to take it away it would only be for low cal mili and ranger ammo. To do something like Rust does, but instead of explosive ammo just have a dragonfang box/nykore box loaded with high cal ranger ammo.
Ok here's some stuff I don't agree on you can get dfangs, matas, ekhos and hell's fury for defending from horde beacons but also horde beacons cap out on multiplied loot and strength for zombies at 8 players so you had so many people that a lot of the loot got goblined i make hordes whenever I get extra dets ofc and I'm pretty sure you can get dfangs from military gun box spawns megas and some of the maps deadzones I do agree about the nyko its pretty stupid tbh. well that's all I could find to type about. Well also you didn't even completely get a answer from nelson himself
Also you could just go for charges plus people mainly play modded now because vanilla has gotten a bit old I've spent about 500-800 hours on vanilla, and I have 3.3k hours just a lil bit extra stuff
The only way to make unturned alive again is putting in RUST features Like the building style in rust Explosive bullets that work in only semi and auto rifle weapons And a wounded system when shot down...like in rust ..etc EDIT....MAYBE

make building the same as in rust makes way more sense and its way simpler give more hp to walls remove lockers add storage containers fix placeables hitboxes make damage on weapons based on their tiers or the bullets they use make all the good guns more rare same with the armor IMO
