打鐵加硼砂是因為能幫助鍛造者去除金屬表面的雜質。硼砂是熔劑，就是火法冶金中能與礦石中所含的脈石氧化物、有害雜質氧化物作用，形成低熔點渣層，從而把要提取的金屬分離開來。在高溫環境中，硼砂熔體中含有酸性氧化物三氧化二硼，能溶解金屬氧化物，便於人們淨化金屬表面。

In my country, it is call kerambit pamor. Pamor mean "natural picture from metal combination".
