The Prodigy's Liam Howlett posted this tape on the bands website, which featured official demo tracks from 1990-1991. The demo tape was released online around the time of Their Law era. A rare listen to some of the early versions of Liam's tracks.

Some dismiss the Prodigy/liam Howlett as being to one side of the "proper" early rave scene, being too mainstream etc, but this tape is worthy of being played in any of of the clubs during that early breakbeat hardcore era.

Мне кажется это из-за более низкого нынешнего порога вступления в муз сообщество. В те времена чтобы дойти до демо-записи, нужно было целую жизнь прожить, целое приключение испытать, с целой кучей людей перезнакомиться. Коллектив того же scooter, лет восемь шлялся по всяким неизвестным клубам, прежде чем они стали scooter)) И так везде, не всё сразу. И к демо-записям прилагали все усилия, на кону был большой риск и большой труд. Волей-неволей а добьёшься качества, жизнь заставляла потому что)) --- Хотя в принципе, было и много неизвестных музыкантов)) И их демки, конечно, были куда хуже)) Всё-таки на то Лиам и редкостью был, что не каждый так делал, как он.

@@superidea-channel Лиам с детства обучался игре на классическом фортепиано. Отчасти поэтому ему удаётся сделать чуть более интересно, чем тупо колбасня ради колбасни как у многих других либо с очень примитивным (не путать с простым, просто не значит примитивно) либо с очень "размытым" мелодичным посылом и аккомпанементом.

Do you know if any of these were on the original tape Liam gave to Keith? I suppose a full year is a hell of a long time for Liam to be reworking tracks and writing new ones so it might be completely different but I'd love to hear what was on both sides (assuming the original story is true of course!).

I'd have to jog my memory or have a look later, but I'm wondering if Keith's copy was the same one that the late Kean got hold of. He played the bongos at one of the Prodigy's gigs on stage.

This was the tape which was given to Tim Tam and XL I think. The one with Demons could be the one which was given to Kieth since the A Side would have a DJ mix Liam did.

I don’t know if this is Kean’s tape but Kean was my stepdad and passed away in ‘09, what you wouldn’t gather from Liam’s description of him was that he was 6ft 2 and built like a brick shithouse but the loveliest bloke going, he used to live with Keith and I’m fairly sure the flat they lived in is actually shouted out in the liner notes of a Prodigy release (could be completely wrong). By mad coincidence my great grandma from my mum’s side - Gwen, was apparently a nanny for Liam at one point when he was a child (from what I’ve been told, could be complete bollocks)

@@jiltedgenerator he did indeed, I have a picture of him with his bongos and in the video of The Prodigy’s set at Stretham Eclipse 91 he’s the one with the white N-Joi t-shirt at 12:48. My mum’s told me his and Keith’s crew were known as either the 32 or the 42 Posse (she can’t quite remember which), I’m a casual fan of The Prodigy but when Keith passed that hit me a lot harder than most celebrities because of that connection, by all accounts Keith was a lovely bloke. RIP to Keith and Kean.

Anyone know the mixtape that has Android in the mix with the woman complaining about being stalked! .... по факту все его железо на тот момент это голый Roland W-30 с паком семплов из ПЗУ и еще некоторых дернутых из других треков/семпл библиотек. у него тогда вообще почти ничего не было. весь What Evil Lurks это W-30.

@@severebraindamage_med он уже тогда работал диджееем и сэмплы переписывал с пластинок. помоему у него еще был отдельный сэмплер акай и аналоговый синт муг..или это уже позже..

@@ruslanboldareff7676 семплер он купил в районе 1991-1992 года, ибо его звук W-30 уже не устраивал, основную часть железа он купил ближе к релизу Experience. у него конечно был муг продиджи, но у него тогда было очень мало железок, а на этих демо он этот муг вовсе не юзал, эти демо записи полностью вмещались на одну флоппи дискету (по одной на трек) для в-30.
