In the early 60s I used to go to the mom and pops little market place as a young teenager in Ashland Ohio and read up on nascar in super stock magazine. Always a petty fan. Richard is the king.

Another great video! The 1972 style also made a comeback in 1996 as part of the STP 25th Anniversary celebration-long before the Darlington retro thing. Your collections are very impressive! You must have had some talented tailors to do the embroidered Ford and STP logos. The truck series uniforms were really cool, IMHO. It's too bad that there aren't embroidered Petty logo shirts for sale to the public anymore-I managed to get my hands on one back in 2019-and a couple of others since. Keep the great stories and videos and memorabilia coming please!

I learned something again. 50 years old and I have to be the biggest Kyle Petty fan. I never knew he drove a Ford for Petty Enterprises. I have always thought he went from the 7 Eleven Pontiac to the Wood Brothers. Love this! I always learn new stuff! Keep posting! 🏁

I remember a STP show car at a little mom and pop fruit stand near my house in the early 70s in Ga

As a lifelong Petty fan l have rather large amount of Petty items. I have what I think is a Maurice crew shirt. It is a dark blue western shirt with STP patches and an Esmark and a Gabriel patch. Maybe late 70's or early 80's.Also with a name label on the shirt tag that is hard to make out but starts with a M. Had it for about 20 yrs.Framed and on display in my basement.Would be interested what ya'lls shirts would go for if made available in an auction. Or maybe place them in a museum where fans can see them.

In the picture from 1979 of the crew wearing the Pirates style caps, the guy on the far right, Aaron Dudley who I believe was the gas man, I went to school with him and played football together. He was tough!!!

Yep Sir Richard won Riverside's first race in 69! Great duel with his old rival David Pearson. I was 8yrs old & sitting in the stands with Pop, at the start/finish line! Alway's been proud of the fact that I've been a HUGE Petty fan since 1966, before anyone ever called Richard "The KING" 😉 Thank's for another great video guy's, please keep these coming, cause I absolutely love them! 👍

After the 1981 Daytona 500 win,Dale left the team, later that year at the Fan Club Convention they auditioned Dale’s uniform shirts. I was fortunate enough to get one and still have it today. It has Dale embroidered on it. It is the pride of all my Petty shirts.

My only piece of Petty apparel I still have is a replica of Richard Petty's uniform from 1989. Real nice looking jacket, too. But I liked that nice little display you guys showed us. Let us see the evolution of the Petty pit uniforms. We all want more videos from y'all because I enjoy hearing those stories.

@Petty Brothers Racing Can you imagine, how bad it would have been, if they had no inside pit wall at Darlington in 1970 when Richard had that bad wreck? Lord have mercy.

Obviously not as cool, but l have Richard Petty t-shirts, hats l bought over when Richard was racing. I have kept them and put them away.

i have Frank Anderson's 1986 and 1992 uniforms. I'd like to think at least some of ya'll know who he is.

Great stuff Petty Bros. I didn't think a vid about uniforms would be good but you've got a real "goldmine" of the cool old shirts etc. (It's not really a "uniform" but i got one of The King's wet rags (used) that he left in the seat of his Pontiac right after a race at Nashville back when they'd let the fans come into the pits after.) The rag is/was stained red like maybe Koolaid ? There were unused rags folded ,red like Koolaid there in a cooler too.

I have a 80' 7 time champion crew shirt found on eBay. I now believe it's original as it's identical to the one shown. I'm happy 😊

After we had our fire on pit road at Atlanta in 1989 where Robert was badly burned we all went from a regular cotton pit road uniform to a Nomex fire retardant one piece jumpsuit for the 1990 season. I have photos of some of the uniforms but don’t see an option to post photos.
