@@JnEricsonx Gabriel say “You been with a woman, Zophael? It's like dying... you moan, cry out. You get to a spot that has you begging for release. Once, I was an Angel of Death... now, I die every day... when I have the cash.”
That film had so many good lines - love this one: Joseph: Look. I've had four gutted hermaphrodites burn to black pitch right under my nose. I've had one cop, my best friend, driven insane by the angels shrieking in his head... before somehow spontaneously combusting in a madhouse he had mistaken for a monastery. A pretty young woman, now dead, knocked up by a stranger who left her three months pregnant in only 48 hours. And just yesterday, a young man, allegedly her son, shot up six ways to sundown, crawled out of a drawer and waltzed out like Lazarus. So yeah. I'm pretty much open to a -buffet-of possibilities.
Absolutely Professor. He pretty much plays every character he's cast as... perfectly. _The Deer Hunter_ is still haunting all these decades later... *one shot* ❄chills❄
@@OpenMawProductions Yes, Christopher Walken has that effect on many of us. Including me! And btw another actor, somewhat lesser known, but massively talented and always in great films is Christopher Lloyd. Even if he is cast as a buffoon he still kills it. Could it be the name Christopher 🤔🤔
Gabriel hates Lucifer with a fuckin passion maybe because they are cut from the same mold. In storyline. Which makes a blind spot because they are so similar he thinks they have the same boundaries. They do not. Lucifer definitely wants to burn heaven and kill You Know Who
I love seeing Gabriels interactions with people compared to how he treated them in the past movies. He treated them like houseplants, and heeded their lives very little, but here he's smiling, and really coming to understand the joy of life. How he grins and jokes with the detective, actually engaging with him, and complimenting him for doing well.
I've always thought that the first three Prophecy movies (the last two don't really connect, IMHO) were really Gabriel's story. In the end he comes to see that everything has it's place in the world, and that the importance of the angels isn't truly diminished by the role of humans.
He is the only one with a true character arc through all those movies. He goes from Villain to disgraced to sympathetic to truly redeemed. He is the pin that holds those movies together. Lovely
Went from constantly appearing and Vanishing in a flock of black birds as he turned his Grace's from God in the first two films, to vanishing in purely light like birds after returning to the grace of God. Freaking awesome story arch for a character.
Angels can not return to grace... When he calls Daniel "The Word"...he is in essence calling him Jesus. And for all the flash and dash bullshit, they do tell you some small truths.
@@jeffmorin5867 I guess you missed the entire story of this trilogy, but that's okay. The trilogy is, in the words of the ones who WROTE the movies: "Gabriel's fall and redemption in the eyes of God, and his renewal of faith in God's Word". He did lose his grace at the end of the first movie when Lucifer brought him to Hell. And he lost his mark as well, which can clearly be seen in the second and third movie, until he got his grace back from God when the mark is back. Chrstopher Walken also has stated much of the same, but what do we know, right? It's a fictional trilogy about an army of beings we know nothing about except small tidbits in a work of fiction (the Bible). What angels can and cannot do, what they lose and can regain, who knows? We know nothing about it. But in this particular universe where the movies takes place, they can regain their grace with a renewal of faith in the Word of God. I recommend you watch the entire trilogy again and pay attention this time.
"In the end, there is still the Word. Everywhere. In heaven and its angels, the Earth and stars; even in the darkest part of the human soul. It was there the Word burned brightest, and for a moment... I was blinded."
I personally think the best part in this movie was when he was with the injured Maggie and held her hand. That was such a sweet moment. And shows how far the character had come
I love the Prophecy Gabriel trilogy. The films were really about him, and his fall from grace. The ending really captures Gabriel's enlightenment. "Finally, after a Gazillion Years. I get to find out what the Message is." Even for a powerful Angel such as Gabriel, he wasn't the one chosen to fight Pyriel. One has to Wonder is Lucifer ever fought Pyriel.
They say "Dont judge a man until you have walked a mile in his shoes" I giess Gabriel after many milenia of seeing mankind as inferior and benoef him, it took becoming one of us to realise that life as a slave is painful and uncertain.
LOL! I like how everyone else in the world rejects they are slaves. I asked for people to be free an they gave me 2020 vision on what happens without them.
The picture tried to show spiritual war human don't see or recognise blinded by material world created. All is about souls and people choices of good and bad.
@@theartofflying3108 Not so much actually. It is the underlaying foundation about the humans in this trilogy, but they take second stage to the fall and redemption of Gabriel, whom is the true story of the trilogy. The trilogy is all about him seeing what the Word of God is really about, why the creator chose to put his grace on humans, and why they are, in the eyes of God, perfection. When he finally realized why that is, he renews his faith in the Word of God, and he gets his grace back. Its an amazing character arc that spans three movies, and is perhaps one of the best arcs in a mostly Direct-to-Video trilogy ever. Kinda also makes the new Star Wars trilogy amateur hour in comparison.
Gabriel is a powerful angel who have 600 wings and yes he can come in a human form and in his original form he can blocked the horizon, his main job is communicating with prophets , that s the truth .
Blow Gabriel blow Go on and blow, Gabriel, blow I've been a sinner, I've been a scamp But now I'm willin' to trim my lamp So blow, Gabriel, blow I was low, Gabriel, low Mighty low, Gabriel, low But now, since I have seen the light I'm good by day and I'm good by night So blow, Gabriel, blow Once I was cited for hell Once I was headed for hell But when I got to Satan's door I heard you blowin' on your horn once more so I said, "Satan, farewell!" And now I'm all ready to fly Yes, to fly higher and higher and higher 'Cause I've gone through that brimstone and fire And I've purged my soul and my heart too So climb up to the mountain top So start to blow, Gabriel, blow Go on and blow, Gabriel, blow I want to join your happy band And play all day in the promised land So blow, Gabriel, blow And now I'm all ready to fly Yes, to fly higher and higher and higher 'Cause I've gone through that brimstone and fire And I've purged my soul and my heart too So climb up to the mountain top So start to blow, Gabriel, blow Go on and blow, Gabriel, blow I want to join your happy band And play all day in the promised land So blow, Gabriel, blow
And I did enjoy!!! TY so much for uploading this! I have only seen the first movie so this was a nice treat. I think playing Gabriel was one of his best roles but... I'll watch anything with the great Chris Walken in it! TY again!
Why do the angels even try? They know God is real thus his Word is too. The Word states Lucifer and and all fallen angels will be thrown in to a lake of fire. It seems kind of hopeless for them
this is good question, though. They didn't know prophecy and future I believe as this one is not written for sure - all could be changed. When fallen one sinned by his will and rest went after him - they lost contact with God Father and become blinded for the true - they are lost in this choice forever. This believe is cause.
A) atleast in the first movie god COULDN'T intervene B) I don't think that angels met god personally C) if god is omnipotent then he won't intervene as it would create an inbalance but i dunno then again it can be assumed that if they know god and still fight him that god is either 1) god is cruel and they have to atleast try or die trying 2) they know that they can win or 3) they simply have to prove a point that god is evil so that everyone would see.
First, its a movie and yes its half truth, half fiction, based on the word(bible!)! This story portrays how gre8 it is to be a mortal ,with body and soul itself as a gift from god!!! Any creature not human would be of envy and rebEl against him(GOD)
Gabriel's army tried because God didnt talk to them anymore. He even said so. They didnt want to rule anything. They just wanted to be loved again. The Devil does what he does out of spite. He knows his fate and wants to take as many people into the pit with him because he knows ruining God's favorite creation is the closest he can come to hurting God. Forcing him to punish his children. He is that petty.
When I first saw Sparky I thought it was going to be a typical snarlfest where they build up the main character by "owning" people. Instead it became a conversation that I wanted to go on. So snappy and friendly.
Chris Walken gives new meaning to how many angels can tap-dance on the head of a pin. And BTW, has nobody in four movies thought of asking them which religion was right?
I didn’t see the Sun in the movie or is it in the first section they always cutting something out and later on you watch the movie and you finding out this 10 which is missing its change everything
