It's worth noting that Vyke didn't entirely inherit the Frenzied Flame, as he didn't singe his flesh with the Three Fingers. He still had his armor on, hence why we can get the Fingerprint Armor. We remove all our armor to enter the chamber of the Three Fingers, and they singe our flesh, lighting the Flame of Frenzy within our eyes.
That's true. Vyke didn't have fire eyes he just had really intense grapes, evidenced by the fingerprint one. And the grapes don't turn into flames until they burst and leave behind a yellow ember that stays in the eye socket or falls out
The One Great being represented by 5 fingers and then splitting into 2 and 3 is a cool idea, but I always imagined that the Outer god of Chaos created the three fingers as a way of mocking the Greater Will after the Two fingers were an established part of the golden order. It made them out of chaos flame, hence why they vanish after they burn the player, while the two fingers turn to wood after they die. This was a great video!
I think it did I was kinda being metaphorical when I said that but I probably should have worded it differently I hadn't considered the mocking part but I think it's possible either that or it manifested as three just to support its claim about the one great and it giving a visual to the whole them breaking off and going rogue but honestly I don't even know haha
"Quarians of Elden Ring." I hit the like button "Blighted merchants" Double thumbs up My man referenced Mass Effect *and* Dragon Age talking about Elden Ring. That's worth a whole lotta something.
This was the first ending I chose. I could’ve picked any other and had completed the associated quests, but this was the one ending that truly solved the issues in the Lands Between, such as Deathroot. The world is irreversibly cursed. Chaos is the key to cleanse it all.
I hate the ending lol. Poor Torrent. You can hear him crying to try and get summoned before Melina grabs the steed whistle ring and his cry echoes and fades away while the ring burns and fades into ash. 😢
A cool video but I disagree with the order of events. A common belief of many folks is that Shabriri slandered the merchants but I think that Shabriri's actions came after the Merchants were sealed away. The slander that they are talking about was him talking Vyke into going below the capital to seek out the 3fingers. When you consider the trip to the 3fingers it begins to become clear. We had to slay Morgott to bring down a barrier to get started. This means the barrier is post Vyke, Vyke is likely the reason the barrier was put up. This means prior to Vyke there wasn't AS great a concern about the Frenzied Flame. The Caravan were left to their own devices in their tomb which would also explain how Miquella was able to visit them and teach them the song they play. Something to think about: If Shabriri's crime was spreading the word of the 3 around the time the caravan was imprisoned, why didn't they just put him in too. I accept that the caravan may have been infected with Frenzy after imprisonment as a reason not to let them out but why give Shabriri a different punishment. My theory, because Marika ordered the Caravan to be imprisoned and by the time Shabriri was around Morgott was calling the shots. If you look around you realize Morgott is perhaps one of the cruelest demigods. Shabriri got the scoops but Vyke gets imprisoned. This is likely due to Vyke repenting his crime (Vyke in the Gaol doesn't use any Frenzy power but instead uses his lightning) and also a fear of having to answer to Lansseax. Vyke repenting is key here because this is how they would find out about Shabriri because let's be honest they wouldn't have been likely to listen to the pleas of the Merchants as they were gathering them up. But a fallen hero who wishes to repent and willingly submits to imprisonment is more trust worthy. Not to mention they would have probably asked Vyke how he knew to go down there. The other interesting fall out of this, that no one has noted, would have been Morgott divesting himself of the Fortified Manor as an institution, thus it sits pretty much empty and the gates sealed. This location served the purpose of allowing tarnished to gather and work towards the Elden Goal. We're told it use to be buzzing with activity back in the day but now is pretty much empty. Folks never seem to ask why so I offer the above. Along with this came a distrust of the Tarnisheds' "meager flame" (interesting and telling choice of words when we first meet Morgott as Margit). His logic likely looks something like "If Vyke blew it with all of Leydell behind him then clearly all tarnished are trash" As to Shabriri getting a hold of Yura. As Yura dies he gives into despair. In Elden Ring despair is a big path to Frenzy. Yura believed if he could cut the bloody finger off Elenora's hand she would be free and return to who she was. But she instead killed him and this broke the man. As he lay dying he pleads, you can hear the despair in his delivery, for her to return to herself and we then kill her. Frenzy Flame philosophy is pretty much life isn't worth it, and doing something he believed would save his friend didn't work. It would be easy for him to start thinking in those last moments that he gave his life for nothing. And it is this moment I think he became a candidate vessel for Shabriri. When he says he gave himself willingly, Shabriri is more likely referring to giving in to the existential despair. Looking at Irina and Hyetta we can see that dying in despair seems to open you up to spirits with a frenzy flame motivation occupying your corpse.
I had always assumed that since vyke was a Tarnished that came back after the world was already in shambles they weren't organized enough or at all anymore like I had assumed vyke was a dragon knight of leyndell prior to being sent away since he was a tarnished but I forget that he was probably one of the first ones to return to the Lands between so who knows
But I was gonna talk about the bloody fi ger stuff when I do one about the formless mother because I do know why yura did that I just didn't wanna get off topic yet again but I guess it was indeed relevant. This is a great write up by the way
@@TheHonoredMadman Because Vyke was in his armor when he met the 3fingers he never got possessed by the frenzied flame like we do. So he wouldn't need the needle. Also sense he went down there to spare his maiden, he doesn't have the personality of someone who has succumb to chaos. He was just the wrong dude for the job.
Radagon/Marika = male/female Two fingers/Three fingers = order/chaos Radhan/Rykard = honor/blasphemy Mikala/Melania = life/death Godwin/Ranni = body/soul Godrick/Renala = physical/mental power Everyone and everything has a parallel. Thought it'd be worth mentioning
I think the dlc is going to take us back into a pre shattering lands between. Post/Pre shattering = Hidetaka Miyazaki/JRR Martin bringing the game and lore and collaboration full circle
You can tell by the inflection when he says “he gave it to me” and then put the onus on the player by saying “I hope YOU can come to peace with that” that that body was indeed not given to him. Edit: I really just wanted to say inflection and onus in a comment
vyke tore out and left his eye at the chapel too, which his red phantom also drops, thats more likely the source of the initial frenzy there rather than the spear i think
Shabriri is definitely one of the most interesting villians in Elden ring with how many events and situations he may or may not have been directly involved in.
i might be forgetting something thats very contradictory but its possible the land of reed is literally ashina from sekiro, as sekiro is set in roughly the same time period as the technological equivalent of leyndell. the same way the seat of the sun mentioned somewhere could literally be lordran.
it's almost like a dude wrote a book 100 years ago that outlines a set of instructions to sow chaos in order to seize power... some kind of revolution, comrade... hmmmmmm but what could that book be and what would that modern day political party be... well, I'm stumpepd.
Pretty much bu it's gonna focus more on the frenzied flame as a whole but it indeed is gonna cover castle morne, edgar and hyetta/Irina and also more on the merchants and tmhow the frenzy effects certain things more so than others
