The Number 28 in Hebrew Means: Times and Seasons
Is the number associates with the beginning and the end of certain God given time-lines.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 list 28 times and seasons for every purpose under Heaven.
To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:
2 A time [a]to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted;
3 A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to gain, And a time to lose; A time to keep, And a time to throw away;
7 A time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence, And a time to speak;
8 A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace.
• Twenty eight times the word “weeks” shows up in scripture. It is a measure of time.
• The phrase “day and night” shows up 28 times in scripture.
• In God’s calendar, there are 28 days in a lunar month.
Calendar years usually follow a 28 year cycle. Since there are seven days in a week and leap year occurs every four years, a calendar from 28 years ago looks the same as 28 years ago.
• So, 28 is definitely connected to the calendar. In fact, 28 days is the number associated with the shortest month in the Gregorian Calendar. February has 28 days except in leap years when there are 29 days. All twelve months of the Gregorian calendar have 28 days regardless of the year.
The word “Cross” shows up 28 times in the Bible. Jesus Christ saw to it that He personally guarantees our victory in every time and season in life.
The term “end of the world” shows up 28 times throughout Scripture. A definite picture of a time line or measurement.
Matthew 28:20, Jesus said, “and low I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”
Jesus is with us when we march off His map and go our own way like the Prodigal. He is with us in every season of our life.
