I thought Getrude was a class act. Instead of trying to win Andrew back, she recognized how much Margaret meant to him and basically told him to go after her in a roundabout way . . .

I didnt interpret it like that. She saw her second chance and she went for it. I think he made the choice to let go of his past flame and go after the women he was truly in love with. I think it would be realistic of the ex to try to rekindle what they had after seeing his marriage fail At the very least, she would want to comfort him. I think it would be unrealistic for her to step aside, that's just my take.

NOT FUN FACT: There was a big deal about Betty turning 100, and was on the cover of a major magazine. She sadly passed at 99 and 11+ months.

i read somewhere that she lived thru a bunch of leap years.. they added up the extra days (all the 29ths of February's thru-out her timeline) & it equaled to her being 100 years old when she passed. That gave me such peace when i heard it. RIP to the incomparable Betty White. Our favorite bossed up Centurion.

@@AceVenturaaa But that's... not how leap days work. The full cycle around the sun is 365 and a quarter. The lost quarter is made up for by the leap day once every 4 years. It's not an additional day, it's a day that was subtracted from the other years in pieces.

This movie is my mom's favorite, Betty white was her favorite and she loved her The Golden Girls. She lived a good life ❤ rest in peace, Betty White 🕊 She would've been 100 in 2022 but she passed 🥺😭 33:14-35:07 was her favorite part, it always cracked her up 😂

That's really what marriage is: dating the person you love forever😊 My hubby and I have been married 14 years this year and still in the dating phase, because in my opinion, that doesn't stop after you say "I do!" 🫰🏻❤ Great reaction!

Hey. I just found your channel. Cool reaction, love this film. I've seen it before and its one of my favorites but to be clear, the reason Andrew's character hadn't been home in so long isn't because of Margaret. At 23:40, he's talking to his dad and his father is pressuring him to take over the family business, something Andrew has no desire to do. Andrew wanted to find his own way in life and being a book editor and reading books makes him happy. That's why he left to New York and didn't come back for years. And that was before him and Margaret ever met. Margaret didn't publish his work because she didn't want to lose a reliable editor, which was kinda selfish when think about it. Margaret's character didn't prevent him from going home, his father did because he's a drain to be around. Controlling, he even got involved with the immigration officer and took the officer's side. The father was so vindictive that he'd rather see his son in prison all because Andrew didn't want anything to do with the family business.

So I love this movie, and actually my wife and I went through the exact process they show at the end. They changed the law back in 2005, you can’t just marry and get citizenship, you have to go through those interviews.

i've seen those proposal videos of women asking their men to marry them and though still uncoventional, it kinda makes sense. whoever is ready to commit can ask the other i suppose. i've been in a situation where i accidentaly discovered that an ex was going to propose and i wasn't ready and it kept me up thinking how i was going to say no to a marriage but yes to a continuing relationship. it was dreadful and so i just came out with it and told him i knew what he was about to do but i'm not ready and i don't want to embarrass him in this public grand gesture he's planned so why don't he let me propose when I'M ready. eventually, we broke up and though it was amicable, that could've been an expensive and stressful divorce instead.

While You Were Sleeping, The Lake House, Miss Congenitality and Hope Floats are my other fav Sandra Bullock Rom coms. “Il Mare” (2000) is a Korean film that inspired “the Lake House” in America. It’s got the main guy from Squid game, Lee Jung-Jae. He’s about to be in the Acolyte too in Star Wars. One of my favorite Ryan Rom coms is “Definitely, Maybe.”

Net Zero, Netscape, MSN, AOL, Sprint, Earthlink, are all dial ups from way back. And a few more date night movies I can recommend that Devin can enjoy. another Rom-Com with Ryan Reynolds is "Definitely, Maybe." It holds up very well like this movie. "Man Up" with Simon Pegg is a funny one as well. Some that are not Rom-Coms for date night are "Bad Moms" "Grown-ups" (audience still good if at least one person hasn't seen it.) and "Baby Driver" as a #1 recommendation for Date Night.
