Just got into the protein works and I have to agree with the packaging, I’m fine with it screaming protein but it’s not very clear which flavour or instructions. Great vid.
How do you find the texture of them I’ve always preferred a thicker consistency but with TPW 400ml of water makes it too runny for my liking any ideas for a thicker shake?
I've just ordered the vegan complete 360 4kg As much as I want to control my calorie intake and make sure I'm getting the right amount of nutrition on a day to day basis, cost per meal also matters and I just find (with the various discounts on offer) the protein Works is best for price per meal as long as you stick with the bigger bags that is. Oddly enough there was a bigger saving to be had on a vegan 360 then the normal 360 with their current offers. Can't wait for it to arrive 🤞 P.s thank you for this great review 👍
You're so welcome! and you're right - they're definitely one of the cheapest! Did you see my full round up of all the options? Let me know how you get on with it!
They must have took note, I love the packaging now. I’ve just started on the diet weight replacement shake from protein works. The flavours are amazing
The meal replacements are meant to substitute 1-2 meals a day or as i do, use them as healthier snacks. Youre still supposed to eat substantial meals, but i feel theyre a good tool to monitor your calorie and macro intake. Try them with 200ml almond milk and 100 ml water... Makes them much more filling. The best flavours for me are cookies & cream and dark chocolate raspberry. I prefer them over Huel.... The flavours are less sickly. Great review!
Thanks for the tips! The website makes it difficult to work out exactly how they're meant to be used - they recommend 2-3 servings a day, but don't seem to say "in addition to normal food" - so was just a little concerned about that - you're right about the idea of snacks though, I like that! dark chocolate raspberry sounds good - not too sweet...
Just came across this video. Ive been using TWP 360 and diet shakes for a while. Not generally to lose weight but i sometimes have issues eating and if i get into a depressive stage, i find it hard to make meals so making a quick shake is good to atleast give me some nutrients. Ive been a lot better now tho as im working out and need to fuel my body and im tracking my macros. Just bought the savoury meals as easy to take a portion to work and just add got water and saves me forgetting to make sandwiches for work and ending up eith a tasteless meal deal. But i don't think I'd change from TPW, easy to navigate, lots of sales and discount codes and top cashback, lots of variety, fast shipping and tasty
From reading their webpage you can replace 2 meals a day with 2-3 servings then eat a healthy evening meal so you you could have 600 calories plus your evening meal
Hi all 👋first of all thank you for awesome quality video! I just started using The protein works recently and I find it easier to dilute little bit with milk,it does keep me full for about 6 hours I start seeing the benefits around my waist without exercising (due to work as living in carer 24/7 with client who is terrified of going outdoors,I don't have chance to exercise as I use too...) I also using waist twister disc but not sure if that will help 🤔😆❤
I’ve only just started to try meal replacement shakes, and went straight for the new Bulk 1 complete food shake, which is also vegan. I’m not vegan but I thought the ingredients list looked better than some of the alternatives. Have you tried that yet? I don’t really have a comparative but it’s quite a strange texture, although better after being refrigerated for some reason 🤷🏼♀️ Not too sweet either. I do find it keeps me full for a good 5/6 hours and that’s with quite a physical job and where I’m on my feet all day and moving. It’s 400 calories and I just have one through the day and a normal evening meal. Very informative video and thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks so much for your info - I'll look into the bulk 1 complete food shake - that will go onto the list for future reviews! I've found a lot of them are better for being refrigerated, though I'm not 100% sure why either...
I'll have to try that - with the lack of gyms etc at the moment, I've not been doing lots of working out, but when I'm back on that track, it'll be in the basket!
@@LittleTipple chocolate orange swirl is my favourite one if it's not sold out but their salted caramel goes great with a Starbucks cold brew (my gym is next to a Starbuck drive thru) I would also recommend their clear whey isolate if you don't want a milky shake
I got into Huel after viewing your original Huel video and lost 70 lbs since first lockdown. Been on 100% Huel since then with just one cheat day on Saturday. I tried The Protein Works just recently and just couldn't get into it. The most annoying site to order from, which is often like buying stocks and shares with their random pricing. My student codes never work and totals change once I get to checkout. I find most of their products are super sweet, almost too sweet. I tried a mixture of powders. The diet breakfast smoothie and diet meal replacement are okay, just too sweet. The Vegan shake was just medicine, not good. And avoid the Super Greens Extreme like the plague unless you like swamp water, lol. However, the snacks are nice addition to my Huel Bar and Huel Complete Protein Collection. If I was asked to sum up the two brands, TPW is very synthetic tasting and good for those with a sweet tooth, whereas Huel is more natural. Well, for me anyway. Have you tried the Huel Complete Protein yet?
That's amazing - incredible work! And i agree with you on pretty much every point about TPW. Haven't tried the Huel protein yet, but it's next on the list!
Hi from Quebec Canada, I am interested in more details on your routine with the products ( which ones you used, quantities and frequency ) and other things you were doing to lose that weight. I also have 70 lbs I would love to lose. Thank you kindly ;-)
I love the salted caramel vegan meal replacement extreme, much better than a lot of the other flavours I have tried, I mix in the vegan protein powder and it is like a thick shake
@@LittleTipple that's an idea, I turned it into ice cream the other day, with some birthday cake protein powder... Ice, almond milk and a little bit of guargum, it turned out really well so iced coffee sounds good to me
Going to use them as I like the sound of their extreme 360 protein powders. Will use your referral code as well thanks for the honest review 🙏 Edit (won’t let me use your referral, do you have another one I can use?)
I don’t think I’m special enough to deserve special treatment, so I suspect they send them to all customers - might be a new customer thing…? I didn’t get any in my second box…
@@LittleTipple haha, I see.. Saw a special sale on their website, but I think I’ll stick to MyProtein for now.. if you search well, you can find excellent sales and trustworthy reviews for snacks and protein flavours. Thanks for the quick reply! I’ll watch out for your videos !
@@christinam935 I’ll add myprotein to my list of future reviews - thanks for the heads up! And the sales are pretty good - but as they’re around so often, it makes me wonder what the real value of the products is!
@@LittleTipple true, the sales are definitely a marketing scheme, so wait till you see a good sale in whatever you want to try. I have a lot of myprotein snacks and protein shake flavours, so might do a review (More like description and review of flavour and textures) sometime since I found them so helpful. I’ll let you know if I end up doing them! (And for me, I only really buy the snacks if they are close to €1 each, otherwise they’re asking too much compared to their sale periods.)
Been on Huel Black and have just got TPW Diet Meal Replacement taster bundle. So far I’m finding TPW flavours very sweet don’t know whether to order TPW Diet Meal Replacement EXTREME I like that you say it keeps you fuller for less calories. Is the Extreme just as sweet or would you suggest I stay with Huel. One more question is it ok to drink coffee between Meal replacement shakes. Thanks Great Vid.
I'm addicted to the millionaire shortbread flavour and can't get enough of it. I would use skimmed milk for a more fuller shake and have a couple of fruits between breakfast and lunch. Tides me over to dinner with a gym session included. I drink a protein shake after the gym then an hour later its dinner time where I cook myself a regular meal
I think the diet replacement meals are 3 a day plus a balanced diet of normal food on top of it and not just eating 600 calories a day of their product as your entire nutrition.
Yeah, they’ve definitely updated their website since I made this video - the original copy was more vague - it just said “use to replace meals 2-3 times a day” originally - the current advice is far more concise…
It's not 3 meals. You can use the shakes to replace meals, but it is still important to have atleast one full balanced meal a day to get enough macros. I will have one for breakfast and lunch and then I'll have a good tea. But I track my macros so if my calories are too low, I will have some snacks to bring my calories up depending on my activity for the day@@MetalheadAndNerd
I found this really informative. I have just bought 2 bags of the Meal replacement 360 in Strawberries & Cream and Chocolate something or other, was 88% off! I'm not massively overweight but, I do want to reduce by 8kg or so. So I thought as you did, shake (with lid on) for breakfast and lunch then normal meal for supper. I set myself a target of a month so will see how I feel then.
@@Fatnippies Well, I've only been going a few days but, so far ok. They both taste palatable and I have been strict with myself about cutting out biscuits, chocolate etc. I don't tend to eat fast/processed food. I'll report back in a couple of weeks.
@@therealtyjr Well, I’m at 74.5 atm but I haven’t done any fitness work. I wanted to see how much weight I could drop just by reducing calorie intake. Back in the turbo now and so would expect weight to drop down to 70 now. I can still recommend the 360 Complete shakes. I only tend to buy at 80% off and in bulk to make it worth it.
I decided to try these myself for the 1st time, went for the Vegan complete 360 banana smooth. God, i'm not happy with how it tastes at all, there's just hardly any flavour in it for my taste buds, not sweet at all. Not sure how i'll get trough the 2kg pack of it XD I DO NOT recommend the banana smooth flavor, maybe the others are better.
@@LittleTipple what are your opinions on slimfast as an alternative? It seems that may have a smoother texture. but i know nothing about these kinds of products
Yes, but you'll need to think about how many extra calories you're putting in with the milk - drinking these on their own won't help you lose weight, they just help track your calories, so you can make sure you're taking on less than you're putting out.
I just order the extreme shakes I got 3 and some cookies as I don't eat breakfast so it will help to probably eat something before workout. I have git the vegan ones, hope they taste nice I get addicted to protine shakes, on the extreme can I nit just have 1 for breakfast as I find that for a women it's 2500 calories but I don't think I consume that much I have issue eating in the morning sometimes I have breakfast and other times I skip I don't like smell of food in mornings I get sweet tooth so hoping this might help. I didn't know what extreme meant omg, 3 shakes 600 calories each well I don't eat heavy a lot or eat out so I think it would be good. But can't you just eat what you normal eat regards the calories of the meals you have, I was vegan before but not any more but I don't consume a lot of meat, if I eat my normal meals and have a shake on the extreme will it still be alright. I will take caution just incase your review is really informative great video Thank you
2nd video of me watching your channel after searching for a review on Hule. I've started a diet a few days ago and I'm doing really well (already lost some kgs, need to lose another 18, I have a long way to go) and was surprised by how many good things Huel had. Anyway, I have to say a few things: 1. You have an extremely good editing and quality you're very good at it. 2. I could see many reasons people would be interested in your channel with your traveling videos and some knife videos you have 3. If you could advise me anything on Hule that would be super appreciated. And at last I'd like to say that it's not the type of channel that I would watch, but I think instead of 4 digit views you could have consistent 6s no problem in the future. I don't know why I did this whole comment, I never do this, but you seem cool and hope you grow if you're really into RU-vid. Greetings from Germany. :) Sry for the size
Never apologise for a long comment - shows you care! Thank you for all of that! How’s the diet going so far? Sounds like you’ve done well, so keep up the good work! And thank you for your compliments, that means a lot! I’ll be doing a full Huel alternatives comparison soon, so hopefully that will help!
@@LittleTipple Hii! My diet is going amazing (I'd say crazy) so far. I have 13 more to go! These days were so crazy because I've had previous diets, but I just couldn't stop eating my favourite foods after 3-4 months. And you cannot imagine having a fit body and losing it because of your "love" for food. But hey, at least I enjoyed it. Maybe by the end of the month I'll finish this diet, but I don't get anything for granted, I'll just keep pushing as I do and will (self motivation right here =D). This will be the last one and I'll be waiting on your next video to know what I should get!
They do say it's less sugar so they won't taste that sweet I got the extreme not arrived yet just placed order today I'm wondering instead if going along with instructions in terms of calories would I still benefit with my cadio workouts and yoga. sorry my mistake I read 200 calories per shake on the extreme does this mean you can only eat 200 calories a day wow that is extreme, I can't do that. would it still benefit me as like eating something instead of snacking and just eat my normal food what ever I want. I think I should email them and find out, because I don't want to lose weight on these by reducing my calories I need to eat I can't stop food it's important that I eat as I do t already know how many calories I do consume but it's not even 2500 which,h is for women I probably eat less and burn enough so I still have some calories thier so I don't put on weight. I have lost some weight in 3 weeks just by going gym and eating normal but no unhealthy stuff. I wonder if this is long term on these extreme shakes with weight as I don't want to make my body think it's for long weight then I gain it back is it safe to consume them just for the sake of not snaking as luv cakes and chocolate crisps but recently don't purcahse no more that often. if you have any information advice please can you let me know it will be highly appreciated Thank you for sharing
So, I’ve got a video on the rundown of all the main ones I found so far on my channel, but having produced that, a lot of people have recommended others, so I might need to do a follow up!
Hi I like your video and your daughter is so cute .my name is Bernadette and I have just started with my protein works in a night carer and I started with a shake in the morning and I go to bed then I have a normal meal then I go to work and about 00:30 ish. maybe later I have another shake I'm 11:00 stone ish 🙀but my question is would I benefit better having the extreme or stick with the normal diet replacement shake Kind regards Bernadette Ps I'm buying a exercise bike for my days off
That’s amazing stuff, and thank you for everything you do as a night carer - that’s important work! The big difference between the regular and the extreme is just the calorie content - the extreme is only 200 - so you’ll lose weight faster, but you may also feel hungry quicker… I hope that helps?
@@LittleTipple thank you for your feed back sorry spelling was off as I had done 6 nights in a row and working with Dementia is sometimes difecult . So if it's only 200 calories I can get some grande protein bars and have 1 for a snack if I get hungry may I ask how old is your daughter I have 4 two girls two boys all adults now as I'm old 😆
thanks for your question - for the intro, I used a Nikon Z6 and 50mm f1.8 lens for the main shot, and a nikon d500 with a 18-35mm f1.8 for the secondary (product) shots. I used a basic amazon lavalier mic plugged into a Rode Wireless Go, to avoid wires everywhere, and then for the testing portion, I just used my iphone, as it made set up a whole lot easier, and let me just tell the story!
@@LittleTipple Awesome thanks for replying I have been on the look out for a quality camera. I'm guessing the Amazon lavaliere mic I got was a dud I'll try ordering a different brand. Really appreciate this reply ^_^
I’m not 100% sure about Keto - I don’t know much about it - what I would say is the website has a really helpful FAQ section, and all the products have full nutritional breakdowns, so if you know what you’re looking for, you should be able to find it! Let me know how you get on!
I started using these having breakfast (what ever I crave) then these shakes lunch n dinner. 3weeks I’ve dropped over a stone I’m happy with them I find they r very easy to drink and blend and they take away my sweet tooth. Enjoyed the video they r like DFS lol 😂 getting email everyday about sales amazon does really cheap bags of this stuff as well.
you're supposed to just use water, but you could definiterly add it to a smoothie - it'll thicken it up a lot, and obviously it'll add extra calories, but it should work!
