after sales need to fix the phrase "memang macam tu kereta ini".. had this problem way back in 2006 with the savvy and stopped purchasing proton since then. will come back again to proton soon with the geely refinement in quality!
Overall love the changes on the AC control panel to a more updated design and all the features added on the Premium S model. But I hope wapcar can bring up this question, 1. Why is Malaysia Proton Saga dont have air con kaki/front defogger compare to overseas Proton Saga? (Pakistan one got) 2. When is Proton going to change the engine use in Proton Saga to a more fuel efficient one? 3. Why no apple car play/android auto 4. Why no built in arm rest
Speaking of the first proton saga, a British friend and I were in KL during the mid-1980s when a Proton Saga demonstration car happen to draw up near us. Remember, this was almost a few months to a year before actual production began, and the PR exercise was just to get Malaysians excited about the first Malaysian-built car. Being fresh mechanical engineer graduates, we took the opportunity to have a critical look at the car and pumped Proton representatives for more details. One thing that caught our eye was that the front and rear bumpers were made of steel, unlike rubber or plastic which was already the standard on most cars then. When we asked the representative why it was still in steel, they told us that they wanted to source the parts locally as much as possible and at that time, there was no local manufacturers who could manufacture Proton bumpers in rubber or plastic. They could only do it in steel. My friend and i was of the opinion that Mitsubishi had really palmed off a decade old car to the Malaysian government to be built and rebadged as Proton. To be frank, we said that the only way they could sell such cars was to make all other cars more expensive and Proton cheap. Sell them cheap and pile them high. Which turned out to be the case. Unfortunately, Malaysia was too hyped up on the Proton as a locally manufactured car. They should have actually followed the Thai model in setting up Malaysia as a vehicle manufacturing hub which Thailand is now. Thailand was wise enough to allow vehicle manufacturers to come in, set up their plants, and then use them to manufacture and sell vehicles to the ASEAN and later ANZAC market. Thailand is ASEAN's vehicles hub, providing jobs for many and local parts sub-contractors which have grown in expertise and volume to provide parts to these various vehicle manufacturers. Malaysia was then poised to be able to do that, but for political reasons, we ended up with Proton, which survived due to tariffs but finally ended being sold to the Chinese. And now, we are stuck with parts expertise for Proton only in Malaysia, and a small base of sub-contractors able to do that. Oh, and that depends on whether Geely continues to honor their agreement to continue using local parts producers as much as possible. I hope the 4th generation Proton Saga would be better looking. If you look at the South African reviews of the Saga there (South Africa being a big market for Proton cars), they actually say it is an ugly car which cannot compare to the other cars there. For them, it is a cheap and somewhat reliable car, which may find its biggest market as fleet taxi cars. If Geely wants to save some money for the next generation Saga, they should just rebadge their sub-compact sedan cars and have it tuned by Lotus (which they own now), and bring back the tuned by Lotus badge. It may get the 1.5 litre 3 cylinder engine which seems to be the only engine that Geely is letting Proton cars use now. To save money, I would imagine it would a naturally aspirated 1.5 and not turbo like the Proton SUVs have now.
Mine saga mc2 got steering abnormal sound since i took the car out of showroom..till now non of problem get solve by proton. mr Desmond said proton reduce 80% of waranty claim.. actually they can reduce because of their service center not doing good for after sale service and SC staff conduct inspection carelessly.. and they said everything is normal even i report my problem and case to proton customer care.
aik...should ask when CamPro engine will be replaced I drive a Saga FLX 2014, impressive handling but fuel consumption & Punch CVT can be killing at times
The only thing I'm impressed with Proton Saga, is their Very best air-conditioning among the best compare others B-segmet car model... Easily Saga Aircon can beat most higher spec car model. Really matching with ours Malaysian weather 👍😂
@zaidkabir7277 nope. Saga is actually a B segment sedan. The current saga platform was based on the Proton savvy - blm -flx which was B segment. They marketed as an A segment just to differentiate it with the Persona, and also to challenge the bezza in the A-segment sedan.
@@JustAnAverageDude-mo4sz yet i still drive with 1 hand, i drive using my right hand on freeways, in places with lots of junctions, i drive using my left😂
Probably not. Saga will turned 10years old this 2026. They might come out with new model by then. They probably wont even bother with the current model anymore since they are busy with upcoming Geely-based Proton.
OLD saga BLM is good after geely took over and bought it on 2019 is super headache every month complaint problem at KOSE none of it solve start from aircond , gearbox , steering rack all issue proton KOSE cannot solve .. they only can say " semua normal bang " i hate proton dont make a car anymore many customer complaint ... i hope theres is a law for LEMON UNIT ! please dont buy proton anymore
Proton Saga MC3 should have a good look.. Geely should take a design by hotcar Dodge Hornet Sedan that not exist yet.. Interior should take from Lotus Emira design that sharing Proton X50 items.. Engine 1.4 Turbo that Geely Binyue used with 6 manual gearbox or 6AT/ 8AT by Aisin is suitable for new Proton Saga MC3.. ADAS safety features is important to have for new Saga MC3.. Or maybe Geely and Proton can take a design from Alpha Saga design.. Modern retro design.. have a EV system.. company Alpha Motor Corporation
Angan2 itu free tp Proton patut menten je dgn platform ni cuma bg better chassis pun dh ckup Engine 1.0T takpun 1.3Na refined dari ni dan menten aisin 4at pun memadai
