I am 34 years old. 25 years ago, I thought Donkey Kong Country 2 was the best looking game ever made. If the PS5 Pro was the limit when we stop trying to push the visual boundaries, I would be fine. 8 years to make a game is too much.
RU-vidrs always do this it's hilarious. Happens all the time with Pokemon content creators, they'll play a rom hack, get a bunch of views then act surprised and outraged when TPC shuts it down.
youtubers are mostly the reason these gets shut down. RU-vidrs should maybe put a limited time notification in youtube community tab for a bit and then take it down, so people who sees it can check it out without giving it too much attention.
@@Finnishmanni No, the ones responsible for the shutdown are the creators themselves for posting on their social media that they are developing something using an IP that doesn't belong to them
My favorite is when he has a video labeled, 'So.....about this game' with a concerned look on his face and yet the game is a banger. Anything to stir the pot!
Well RU-vid content creators reporting on this GTA 3 DC port is what is going to get this shut down. It's kinda hard for them to lay low, when everyone's putting them on blast.
For real. “Cool mod that’s 100% going to get C&D?? Better make a video showing potential 3/4 of a million people the mod.” There should be enough gaming news that you can avoid bringing it up.
Well… if it’s willingly publicized, and it expectedly blows up, that’s just what happens. Like what really do ya expect 😐 Not really an ethical issue from that side imo. But from here I think the only option is to completely minimize any more attention through updates or whathaveyou until it’s basically done and can be dumped for eternal use before the usual legal docs are sent.
If the developer of said project didn’t want a DMCA takedown Then they would of not shared progress in the first place They would rather just release it and be done with it no teasing nothing That’s how you guarantee no one will just knock the door and take it down Maybe another approach finish it then tease it for a week or 2 to garner attention then release
Hmm🤔.. nintendo fans are not allowed to have opinions, your 8 bit console costs a few dollars less than ps5, so that’s y nintendo fans opinion doesn’t matter, honestly
I believe graphics are capped. I believe we need more feature packed games. Like BG3. The possibility and the way you interact with everything in the game, is what I’m looking for in other games.
Yeah we're pretty close to that wall of what's physically possible with the type of hardware we have, wed need a significant breakthrough, like quantum computing to seriously change how realistic graphics could get, regardless though these hyper detailed games we have are only getting more expensive and time consuming to produce for often underwhelming products that aren't actually fun to play. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if we're heading towards the second video game market crash cause it's just not sustainable
I was really hoping for them to mention something like 120fps at a system level, with more games holding a frame rate above 100 fps with no issue. The thing I’m upset about is from they way Mark Cerney explained it, I’m guessing we will get 3 modes overall, 30fps fidelity, 60fps performance, and on pro we will have a pro mode on PS exclusives which really is just 60fps fidelity. That sounds nice, but to someone with a 4K 120hz LG C2, it sounds like I’ll just get 67 fps in Spider-Man 2 Pro Mode with the frame rate unlocked, which isn’t that an improvement over the regular PS5 besides a higher resolution. While I want an above 1080p resolution on PS5 at 60fps (Cause Spider-Man 2 is something like 1016p in Performance, sometimes closer to 720p because they use ray tracing and even double reflection which NOONE NOTICES) I’m not spending $700 on it and even $850 after disc drive and taxes
Lmao people being overly dramatic in the comments as usual... How is it a failure? Do you not think it will sell out? Just because you won't buy it doesn't mean it's a failure dude.
While I don’t disagree, I also believe it was a smart move by Sony if they present new games at TGS and show what the Pro is capable of, potentially creating new hype and demand for the Pro. Doing it the other way round would have over shadowed anything new they show.
The 3DO and PS3 were consoles I never had at any point. I couldn’t justify the price. I didn’t buy a PS4 pro until price dropped. Same thing with my Fat Disk PS5 and XBox X.
The amount of characters in dragonball games is always such a cheat. 180 characters !! (10 different goku's, 10 different gohans, 10 different vegeta's, ...)
Consoles should start introducing ways to upgrade internal parts separately. Why would anyone pay $700 for an upgrade that's barely noticeable? Make it so we can upgrade the gpu/cpu when the changes are worth it to upgrade.
Exactly. If they don't want us owning our games, then they need to bring arcades back. Give us a place to go to, interact with other people, and experience games in a way that we can't at home. Otherwise, I want to buy and own my games, like I buy and own my movies.
Except what happens when you don’t have a choice anymore? Are you gonna quit playing games? No. So they don’t really care because big companies can force you to turn the tide. Just like devices without headphones jacks for example. You can say I won’t submit and will only buy devices with headphones jacks. Except what happens when a big company starts removing headphones jacks and every other company eventually follows and it gets phased out? You don’t have an option anymore except to not buy a phone. It’s already happened with physical movies. Now no one is collecting DVDs and the younger generation don’t care because they grew up with Netflix. Honestly we don’t have much control besides quitting our hobbies (in this case movies and video games) to show that we don’t support their product, and that’s just not realistically happening. Money talks and complaints don’t really matter.
@@-Stinky_Pinky When No more options exist another option is usually Created, For example look at what Nintendo has done with their Consoles, the Nintendo Switch is unfortunately completely Depending on its Battery becuase there's no Battery Bypass and then Nintendo Made it impossible to Play the Games Downloaded from their Eshop on multiple Consoles with only the Micro SD card as an option (unfortunately micro-SD cards Don't age very well) and Yet 141 Million Consoles have been sold, So What's going to happen once the Battery in All those Consoles Go out??? Do you Really think people Are going to dump the Console they have Put So much Money Into???? Nintendo Could have very Foolishly Made 141 Million New Hackers and Modders, Aswell as PC Enthusiasts
The low res for Alan Wake 2 is exactly on point. If it originally ran at 720p, 864p is 20% more on each axis, or 44% more total. Sounds right for 45% more GPU performance.
Yeah, that game hammers even my PC with an i9-13900k and a 3090.. I need to tone down all of the settings and jack DLSS all the way up. To be fair, I am using a super ultrawide monitor at 3440×1440
@@Finnishmanni yeah, that's the point of my post. It's a pretty demanding game.. I play plenty of other games just fine, and with might higher settings enabled with no issues.
Jumping $200+ in price while at the same time removing the physical disk-drive which half their buyers will want is quite an interesting (and disappointing) decision. As well as the differences to the base model in Sony’s own trailer being minuscule .
Sony pretending they didn't just create a cpu bottleneck...
2 дня назад
While a cpu refresh would have been great, lots of games aren't cpu bound and still benefit. Its really simple, you can easily afford $700 or you can't. If you can you aren't online clutching pearls over the price, you're taking it or leaving it based on your own needs. Only poors are moaning about the price still. Understandable ofc, but we aren't the target demographic. That's life. If I was making six digits a year I would absolutely buy it, and I'm not going to bs about it just because it is ultimately too much for my budget.
What a dumb take. The "poors" lol. It is the consumers right to complain if the product isnt good or is too expensive. Plenty people who can afford it wont buy it as it looks like a total waste of money. Its not just the price that is bad it is also the console itself that looks poor, $700 for a slight upgrade over the base PS5.
@@XxZannexX yeah but he said CPU bottleneck. If a game is already maxing out the cpu or close to it at 30fps it doesn't matter how good the GPU is or how much upscaling you use it will still only get 30fps
Remember when AI upscaling was supposed to provide better image quality on older hardware? Now companies are using it as an excuse to sell new hardware...
@@mightylink65 it seems to also not fix a thing based on digital foundries fundings so it's just a cash grab by using keywords like fast and strong and AI. Sony is making some odd choices in marketing.
Nintendo essentially predicted this issue of higher resolution chasing back in the 3DS era that it ultimately would kill the gaming market and stagnate the industry as a whole leading to huge financial losses along with just terrible innovations it not none at all.
Pretty much. "Iwata basically states that by XBOX and PlayStation only focusing on power and visuals they will eventually find themselves in longer and more complicated development cycles that don’t really lead to any more meaningful or quality gameplay experiences for people to enjoy and experience." He talked about this in an interview from like 2003. At some point, games fail to feel like games and more like interactive movies, leading to diminishing returns. You can make a great, high res and detailed game, but at some point, taking so much money and time to risk it all on a medium that is already hard to see returns on is not always a good idea. Wukong seems to be a good example of a game that seems to have remembered it's high fidelity but still a game from what I hear at least.
I sometimes feel the term A.I. is thrown out there for marketing when in reality a lot of this is not truly A.I. Can we really consider PSSR A.I.? It is basically detecting performance and adjusting. Auto focus on cameras does relatively the same thing in that it detects light changes and adjusts to get the best picture. We don't really consider that A.I. technology.
I just hope that Black Myth Wukong will get a *PHYSICAL/DISC EDITION* for the PS5 down the line. I'm not going to buy a "code in the box" if that's how they want to sell it.
Imagine paying an extra $200 for a system that needs to use ai upscaling garbage to keep a stable frame rate Also for anyone saying it: I do own a PC but almost never use mine for gaming. This is coming from someone who owns and uses consoles primarily for gaming and isn't some sort of PC master race argument
Something I'm not seeing much is that if you buy the PS5 Pro, the disk drive and a bunch of physical games and you don't have internet in your area...you can't use the disk drive. It has to be activated online. I know people are gonna say "who doesn't have the internet", well... 22% of Americans have no access to the internet. Yet another unnecessary hurdle for the PS5 Pro.
@@deiradinnpeople with no access to the internet have bigger issues than worrying about the ps5pro disc drive being difficult to connect. If they don't have bigger issues to worry about, they must be awfully resourceful, and I'm sure they can figure out a way to use someone else's internet for a few minutes to connect a disc drive.
This isn’t a budget conscious console for everybody. This is for the enthusiasts that want the best PS5 experience possible. It’s a pretty simple concept
AAA developers pour billions of dollars into fidelity, resolution, and post-processing, meanwhile AA devs just learn how to design a character that isn't butt-ugly.
Someone can perhaps provide me with more information, but is it not misleading and false marketing for Sony to claim they can do HD 1080p and 4K at 60fps if in reality they are hitting between 800-900p resolutions?
The consoles HDMI port supports HDMI 2.1 which is capable of outputting 1080P and 4K resolutions. output resolution is different than rendering resolution. so even though the game has an internal rendering resolution of 720p, it can still upscale it to 4K and then output 4K to the TV. there are also plenty of games that do natively render and output at 4K, although they aren't technically demanding and usually not from Sony. I guess you could try to take them to court for this, but I don't think you'd have a strong case.
@@Pib31995 thanks for your comment, I definitely see that rendering resolution is more important for a better fidelity but can also be more graphically and computationally demanding specially at 60fps. I do wonder if we can get to a baseline of HD 1080p and 60fps with the ps5 pro across all games, as that would really be my incentive for purchase
Technically the console CAN, in games like COD or Minecraft where the games are optimized to actually run at those resolutions. The HDMI ports bandwidth are where that 4K 120fps comes from. Most customers don’t understand that and think just because the console is in 4K 60fps mode, the game is running at that resolution when in reality even a lot of PlayStation first party games like Spider-Man 2 run at more like 1500p-1700p rather than than 2160p. Hopefully in the future we can get a 1080p 60fps as the standard for single player games and 1080p 120fps for competitive multiplayer games
@@HairSaves "Hopefully in the future we can get a 1080p 60fps as the standard for single player games and 1080p 120fps for competitive multiplayer games" This has been standard on PC for years now, even prebuilts can easily hit 1080p 60fps on most titles. The Series X and PS5 are being touted as the strongest consoles ever and are frequently compared to PCs, but they still can't come close. Part of it I'm sure is console limitations, but a lot of the blame rests on unoptimized games and lazy/incompetent developers. Dragon's Dogma 2 was mentioned in this video and that game's a perfect example. It's extremely CPU heavy, barely utilizes the GPU and frame-rates are tied to how many NPCs are on screen. It's just sloppy game development.
The creator of "Flappy Bird" made a game that used Nintendo's assets, and when it became super popular he realized that Nintendo would sue him into oblivion and "ceased and desisted" before that could happen. Smart move. All this bullshit about "I made something that could be harmful" and "I don't care about the money"...fuck off...He cut and ran before he got caught.
One way to present a generational leap while keeping the development cost stable, is to go hybrid while supporting current technology and including haptic feedback + motion controls. Let developers use their current expertise to focus more on creating unique experiences.
I swear he gets paid by these game companies to rat out modders. Something cool is getting made, he reports on it, it gets shut down, he comes on the next day so shocked that it got shut down.
I'm in a weird mental state where a part of my brain is constantly screaming about how terrible a purchase the PS5 Pro 5 is whereas the rest of my brain has already totally moved on past that, has decided to get one at launch and pretty much thinks the screaming part can go eff itself.
Just get dearrow. it's an addon to reduce clickbait by community submitted titles. It also lets you remove custom thumbnails so your homepage actually looks way less manufactured.
Dragon Quest III is going to be huge in Japan. It will push Switch sales there. I doubt Nintendo will announce the Switch 2 until the hype from that game dies down.
I don't know a lot of Japanese are angry if the legacy being damaged by fools. Removing gender is kind of a big problem for a game that allowed you to pick if you're playing as a boy or girl. Messing with the artist work who just died is a big no.
The collection I really want from Capcom is a comprehensive Ghost N Goblins / Ghouls N Ghosts one. Get M2 on it and include all the different console versions. Then I'd like a nice remaster of the PSP one to make that 2.5D pop. The series really deserves that Castlevania treatment.
Rejoice, my children, a exciting week has begun: This is the week where a Switch 2 reveal is at a all-time high. September 18th is the date that got thrown around a lot, meaning they will probably have a Twitter announcement about the reveal tomorrow. Will we finally see the Switch 2 after 2 years of rumors? Stay tuned to find out!
I do not understand Sony's strategy other than the hope that they can cash in on Sony fanboys and Fomo to drive sales. If they were releasing the PS5 Pro between 600-650 including a disc drive, I would consider adding it to my collection. Just having all the drives scalped engenders an immediate hard pass for me. There is no way I can believe that Sony did not know this would happen.
@Mr_jz_12 I don't think so. Sony is serious with their ask. And people will pay it without thinking twice because they gotta have the latest of the latest so they can flex on everyone else.
The PS5 Pro just might be the best way to play physical PS5 games in the future as PS6 might be a digital only system so backwards compatibility with physical disc will not be possible but digital purchases will be no problem
Good news about Sparking Zero and DQ3. I would import the MVC collection if I wasn't broke, but sadly an additional import cost, just to be able to own a physical copy is enough to skip the game for now at least.
I really wanted to see Resident Evil 4 on the Dreamcast. A native version. If it can run that game decently, it can run anything from the rest of its generation. (excluding some Xbox games and select Game Cube games, maybe).
If PalWorld sold official dedicated servers as a subscription, like Minecraft, I would go all in. In fact, Microsoft could even host all their servers! Easy way to keep generating revenue and you don't need to sell DLC either to keep the game alive!
Without a doubt my biggest complaint is that PSSR should have been included with the original PlayStation. Everyone including digital foundry agrees that's the big deal here and it shouldn't have been something you have to buy a new console for. Nothing else with this console is anything besides yawn-inducing so to lock that single feature behind a new console is such garbage.
Wait the collection is a dlc?!? I was about to go this week and pick up a physical copy. Glad I stayed to the end of this video. The only reason I was picking up this game was to have a physical copy.
@@Matanumi will double check. I had a couple of collections that you get a disc with one game and the rest downloaded or you just get a code for all games. You literally paying to get a paper that has the code for the games on it.
Personally, I think the PS5 Pro is fine as a system and what it is capable of. It is the price that will keep me from purchasing it. That and the fact that there are no games that Sony has released in the last couple years that make the upgrade worth it to me.
You know what’s really sad? The PS5 Pro is gonna sell out. Its entire point of existing is up for debate but it’s gonna completely sold out. That’s Sony fans for you.
It was hard as shit too. It’s just a really basic high-score game that got popular around a time when kids were playing games like Doodle Jump and Jetpack Joyride on their iPod touches
I wouldn't be that interested in that at this time. It's also a harder sell when the original games are already on the switch. I do think that there could be a updated remake at some point. But not until there is an expectation that the entire story could be made (and finished) in a single engine. (Two releases)
I can’t be the only one who’s still waiting for Sony to kill off support for the PS4. Before that happens, the idea of buying a pro version of the PS5 is ludicrous to me.
That new Switch bundle probably won't include a physical release, right? I definitely am excited for Dragon Ball Sparking Zero. I will get it on PS5. Dragon Quest III HD-2D is exciting; especially since we know I & II are getting a release too soon enough. I hope they do the same for the other games in the series. All of this arguing and debating about the PS5 Pro is silly. Yes it's expensive but relative to other consumer electronics, it could be a lot more expensive. People forget that smartphones can be over $1000 and high end PC GPUs are easily over $1000. So the $700 price tag + $80 for the disc drive is really not that expensive in the grand scheme of things. Also the PS5 Pro is really for tech enthusiasts and for those that have yet to get a PS5.
The more I hear and watch about the PS5 Pro, the less I want it. This console generation has been an utter disappointment, regardless if it's hardware or software. The argument about getting a PC instead of a console had never looked nor sounded better to me.
I mean the base PS5, even at 4 years old, stills offer a level of performance for the price that you CANNOT MATCH with a pc that costs the same price. LTT tried to make a ps5 killer a few months ago, and even using used parts (so no warranty if your GPU breaks 2 weeks after purchase) and a few cheeky shortcuts to lower the price of the PC, the PS5 still outperformed it.
Some of these devs are killin me. STOP tryna push Ray Tracing on AMD silicone (PS5/Xbox/APUs) . STOP IT!!! It's a waste of resources. Shift ALL available resources on the silicone to giving us the highest resolution at the highest stable framerates possible. Problem solved.
But can they get sued for porting an old game to a decades dead system for free? If so, that's an unfortunate precedent. Imagine someone getting sued for porting Doom to a thermostat, smartfridge, calculator, etc.
John you're starting to sound like a PS5 pro apologist. Digital foundry did the same testing on all new games shown by Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony. Why all of sudden you're kinda being skeptical with their findings?
45% more power != 45% more fps. The whole technical specs are linear, pixels/image processing is always at least squared. That's the reason why they need the upscaling. Without upscaling technique they wouldn't gain a lot more performance. And that's the reason why we don't get an upscaler on the base PS5. A shame on Sony
I remember a time when Sony use to deliver game console releases w/ an actual game along w/ all the bells and whistles. Now you pay more and get far less. It really is the $ony Pay$tation, lol.
To be honest this needs to fail, competition is nice and all but they're getting too big for their boots... and this feels like another PS3 moment with pure greed. This pricing will bite them in the ass.
