Because if The Puzzle Place: Finders Keepers, Family Fun, and Cute is as Cute Does would release on a Cookie Jar Entertainment DVD, a bonus episode: Rip Van Wrinkle would be fun!
This show is what ethnic/cultural diversity in children's television looks like when it's done right. Multiple backgrounds appropriately represented and nobody questions or makes a big deal about it.
I know, I had forgotten about this show until recently, and I realized how "Woke" a lot of our childhood entertainment was by today's standards. I miss that
In a perfect world but until Ben’s only speaking roles are apologizing for being a straight white male, and Jody isn’t allowed to talk to Leon due to her “white girl privilege”, Skye calling everyone “colonizer”, as well as at least one of the characters being forced to be LGBTQIABCDEFGHIJKLMNOP123+-~:$/@& even though they’re children, it’s not happening in 2021.
Companies today would rather do reboots than introduce the old versions to today's viewers. That's not always the case though. Allegra's Window and Eureeka's Castle were recently added to Paramount+, hinting that they don't have a problem with today's preschoolers watching it. Perhaps Bear in the Big Blue House will be on Disney+ someday.
Me too! My mom passed away recently and it made me remember growing up and all that she went through and this show just playing for us while she went through it.
We had in our days... we had... -The Puzzle Place -Eueka's Castle -Pinwheel -Reading Rainbow -Mr Dressup -Mr Rogers -Classic Sesame Street -The Friendly giant -Lambchop's playalong -Fred Penner -Polk-a-Dot Door ...and what do the kids have today... -Doc McStuffins? -Daniel tiger's Neighborhood? -My Little Pony (The worst of the word) ...Sighs, the poor kids of today
@@DakariKingMykan Does The Puzzle Place: Family Fun and Spooky release on a Sony Wonder DVD, Eureeka's Castle: It Came from Beneath the Bed release on Sony Wonder DVD and Paramount DVD, Mister Rogers Neighborhood: The Environment 1618, 1619, and 1620 release on a Playhouse DVD, Lamb Chop's Play-Along: Fighting Fair release on A&M DVD, and Fred Penner's Place release on Casablanca Kids DVD too?
Wow when u are a child sometimes you miss the lessons your fav shows are trying to convey to you. This show taught problem solving skills I.e when Leon thought of different ways to make everyone happy with the pizza toppings. It showed diversity acceptance tolerance and creativity. Why does the world seem to be moving backwards from such an era that was once so ground breaking in its efforts to establish a more cohesive world
It only appears like we’re going backwards because you were a kid when racial issues were worse. It appears like it was better back then because you didn’t realize how bad it really was at the time.
Of course not! The puzzle place was on cookie jar TV from 2006-2010 just like Barney’s musical scrapbook on hit entertainment DVD and on the LionsGate DVD with an Easter basket on the front!
Man, what happened to educational tv programs. I swear educational shows were shoved down our throats growing up. I loved every show that came on from cyber chase, zoom, wishbone, and the list goes on.
You mean like the puzzle place: finders keepers, family fun, and cute is as cute does are released on a cookie jar entertainment DVD in august 8 2006 with a bonus episode: rip van wrinkle just like WimZie’s house?
You mean like Julie, Kiki, Ben, Leon, Skye, and Jody are in front of Loonette and Molly’s big comfy couch before they’re in puzzle pieces on the puzzle place intro re-airing on KidZone from 1996-1999 just like the entertainment tonight logo after WDAY news @ 6:00 pm is before bob Goen and Mary hart are entertainment news programmers in the world in 1998?
3:30 - Leon: Hey! One of those kids said pizza! I know how to make that. Skye: (laughing) Wait a minute. You know how to make pizza? (laughing) Yeah, right. Since when, Leon? Leon: Since dinosaurs ruled the earth. Ben: Ooh. Leon: Since the dawn of time. Ben: Wow. Leon: And since i got this videotape on how to make it two weeks ago. Hmm. Watch. Insert. Play.
I used to love this show. This brings back soooo many memories. Gosh. I'm feeling super nostalgic. I wish we could back to these days and these tv shows.
You mean like Julie woo says, “That really is important!” In the beginning of responsibility from kids for character re-releasing on Lyrick studios DVD in October 14 1997 and Ben OlafSon having nuzzle knocking over his popcorn on his face on the puzzle place intro re-airing on KidZone from 1996-1999 just like the entertainment tonight logo after WDAY news @ 6:00 pm is before bob Goen and Mary hart are entertainment news programmers in the world in 1998?
Does Sizzle and Nuzzle be in New York City with a Big Apple before The Puzzle Place: Finders Keepers and Sizzle and Nuzzle be in New York City with hot dogs at the end of The Puzzle Place: The Ballad of Davy Cricket that was released on Sony Wonder DVD in May 9 1995?
I remember being 3 years old watching this. Havent seen an episode in 24 years its crazy how much nostalgia is really locked away in the treasure chests of our brains. Puzzle place definitely has a piece of my heart.
@@bubsimodragon i grew up on pbs shows, learned a lot more from pbs kids than i did from nick, disney, and cartoon network...a lot of people never sat and truly watched an episode of between the lions, sesame street, and/or cyber chase, and it shows. Forget what you talkin bout, pbs shows were perfect, especially the ones i grew up on. Idk what they show now, but when I watched it, i made sure to be in front of that tv whenever my show came on. ESPECIALLY Arthur at 5pm.
Thank you so much for having this on here. You just made a 29 year old so happy!! I found one of the best shows from my childhood that I couldn't remember the name of it. I had to do a lot of searching for this, I literally started crying...thank u
I freakin loved this show. Watch it every morning before school. Better times. Things on tv suck these days. I think the future children would greatly benefit for more programming like we had back in the day. Tv these days is bound to waste so many braincells
You mean like bananas in pajamas re-aired on ABC from 1993-2002 just like KidZone in the beginning of Barney & friends: on the move in 1996 and in the beginning of Barney & friends: caring means sharing in 1997?
Thank you so much for posting this episode of the Puzzle Place! It was one of my favorite ones that I remembered from my childhood! I think this episode in particular was a huge influence on me for the fact that pizza ended up being my favorite food later on at age 5! lol
My childhood 🥺🥺 I never saw a clear episode of this show or Polka Dot Shorts, because our TV in the 90s had so much STATIC 😩 My inner child is healed 😂
I was three. I remember this show in such detail though. My parents were such racist bigots I am surprised I was allowed to watch it. Maybe it escaped them. They were helicopter parents except when I was in my room. I was allowed to watch pbs, movies they approved, and read books to my leisure. I'm so glad I have the memories of this show. I think it turned me into the person I am today.
This Reminds Me of That Very Special Episode on Reading Rainbow, Entitled "Little Nino's Pizzeria" Where LeVar Burton Learned How To Make A Wonderful, Spectacular Pizza.
I'm 30 and liked this show growing up. I had a puzzle place playset. My 3 year old butt thought these kids were so cool. (Especially Skye.) I think I had a crush on a puppet.
I'm 36 now, I haven't seen this since I was young. It taught me about different races. All those voices r flooding back in my head, like it was yesterday. They don't make good stuff like this anymore. Lazytown was similar.
You mean like a white meter with a red hand and colorful words giggle-meter while the letter E’s are pink giggle after the adults tell a silly person’s shoe joke in the JokeZone is before the kids are drawing a KidZone logo on the sidewalk with red and blue chalk at the end of Barney & friends: hats off to BJ in 1996 before lamb chop’s play-along in 1996 just like ship ahoy?
I actually don't blame Skye for being skeptical, if pizza really was easy enough for a kid to make their parents wouldn't have to buy the frozen kind at all. But even a lot of adults find it a bit tricky if not hard to make.
You mean like Julie likes pepperoni, Kiki likes extra cheese, Skye likes mushrooms, Leon likes green peppers, Ben likes onions, and Jody likes anchovies on pizza?
I mean, “Is Leon eating pizza with green peppers on a picture key on a board strip on the play-a-song the puzzle place songs book re-releasing on leap frog in 1997?”
Skye: I said to myself, Leon make pizza?! I DON'T THINK SO!!! Hahaha! (Pizza falls on Skye's head and falls down and get up and looks at us like okay maybe I stayed incorrected) LOL!
@@DisneyPro664 I think Leon is the most realistic member of the Puzzle Place because he can be sarcastic & rude but also apologetic. He knows when he's wrong & he owns up to his mistakes.
U know we are going back into time in a reality no joke this man Ronald L. Mallett making a real time machine and I wanted to reborn again back in 95 so me and my family see it again
We need to petition PBS to revive The Puzzle Place...BIG TIME! Not the old series but a completely new one from scratch with the same puppet characters as the original. Especially in a time like 2020 when racism has reached a boiling point...
