Wow after reading him in the books I realise now how PERFECT Julian Glover is at playing him!! Not exactly how I imagined him but his take on the character is GOLD I swear!! GOOOOLD!!!!
He is actually Qyburn. Pycelle found some of qyburn's notes on necromancy and through his own intense genious and endless study figured out how to transpose brains between two bodies. While Cercei was imprisoned he used this scientific insight to kidnap Qyburn and swap their brains. The Qyburn we see after Cercei's walk of shame is actually Pycelle and vice versa. So when "Pycelle" dies, that is actually the real Pycelle killing Qyburn in his body.
Pycelle s advice to not sentence clegane and prevent war was actually good advice. Especially since in the books it s most likely that the riverlanders were burning their own villages
@@wcsdiaries It's the "scorched earth" tactic many ancient powers used. Basically, you ravage your own villages and towns so the enemy can't ransack them, meaning they can't steal and stock up on supplies and crops off your land, since you already burned it. Not only does it make the enemy nervous, since you keep drawing out any battles and run away, but you also slowly starve them if they don't have any supply chains of their own
Pycelle didn't know that Jon Arryn was murdered so he did not think it was valuable information he was giving out. The only ones who knew were Littlefinger and Lysa. The latter poisoned her husband for Littlefinger.
Janice Slynt and Mary Trant are… were knights and soldiers who should have been brave and noble but were a far cry from anything a warrior should be, Pycelle was a Grand Maester and likely earned his position, even possibly through political backstabbing and conniving. Mary and Janice were scummy, cowardice buffoons. Pycelle was a snake and cowardly, but was no buffoon, he had everyone believe he was a doddery old fool and played the game to a ripe old age. I think Pycelle deserves more credit than those two useless idiots you mentioned.
22:55 - 24:20 This scene is just pure political theatre. This was all worked out behind the scenes and they're acting out the roles before the court. Later GoT and also HOTD are missing these kinds of scenes sorely.
"on the other hand , rober baratheon , a great warrior , but it is not the same to conquer a kingdome than to rule a kingdome" Pycelle says a lot of great shit xD sadly for dumb & dumber he was just a joke just like any other character
