The Quadrille - VINCY DANCE ENSEMBLE 

The Quadrille

The Quadrille is one of our traditional dances in SVG. It is also referred to as the National Dance of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The Quadrille has 5 basic figures. Figure 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 with a grand entrance where figure 5 is also considered the grand finale and serves as an exit as dancers dramatically add their own creativity through improvisation to exit the dance. This particular presentation of the Quadrille is not only a shortened version of it where figures only 3, 4 and 5 are pronounced but it is also a stylized version of this Quadrille where the usually traditional fife and drum or boom drum music which accompanies the Quadrille was substituted by 2 local songs.
