Interview with Joan Johnson, a member of the Society of Friends (Quakers). Hear her tell an amazing story of the contribution of the Quakers to the Irish people during the "Great Famine" and beyond. Interviewed by Dermot Power
Thank you Sean,it's a history that needed to be told of the heroic effort of the Quakers to alleviate the suffering of the starving Irish during the Famine and into the mid 20th century. Glad you enjoyed Sean
This is absolutely fascinating and I am very grateful to you both (Joan Johnson and Dermot Power) for taking the time to do this. The Quakers help make Waterford such a wonderful city and county. I'd love to hear more stories, I must visit some of their burial grounds to pay my respects
Hi Carmel thank you for your kind comments.i did another two videos with Joan, but unfortunately there was a problem with the sound. I have that sorted and hope to redo the videos in the coming weeks.
O Allah, send a perfect prayer and complete greeting of peace upon our master Muhammad - the one by whom problems are solved, and anxieties are relieved, and needs are fulfilled, and aspirations are attained and good endings are received, and by whose noble face the clouds give rain - and upon his Family and Companions, with every glance and every breath, by the number of everything that is known to You. All praise be to Allah in every circumstance.
