I think that a big difference between how Mathew and Saberspark reviewed the films is that Mathew is looking at it as a "kid's movie" while Saberspark just sort of reviewed it in regards to his own entertainment, that is - without judging how appropriate it would be for children. Neither of them seem to appreciate the sexual assault jokes, but Saberspark was definitely lighter on the animation, performances, references, and dark stuff.

Yeah, I was glad SaberSpark released that review early to warn the rest of us...but, while I didn't hate his whole review, I felt like Saber tried to make light of the 'Grab some puppy' jokes too much. I mean - I get it, sometimes all we can do is laugh *awkwardly* whenever something disgusts us. But...reviews like Matthew's do a much better job at putting their foot down and saying "This is NOT acceptable, not even in a so-bad-it's-good way" to the film makers. I was also a little baffled and disappointed when Saber said he 'wasn't going to get political' in his review...I mean, it is kind of impossible *not* to at least mention Trump is a sexual harasser and express he's a horrible person for that in a KIDS film which features the very man himself, really. I'm glad Matthew wasn't afraid to just say it.

@jbiehlable I get that - I wouldn't ever expect him to make a full video ranting about Trump. But - Film Brain here for example isn't a political content creator, he's a pop culture/film critic. And...it is impossible for a film critic not to criticise such quotes as 'Grab some puppy'. If a film gets political - it's becomes impossible for a film critic to not follow suit and at least offer a quick two cents. Film Brain called out Trump being a sicko without the whole subject having to hijack his whole review - I was only disappointed Saber didn't offer as much. I feel reviewers are just trying to keep both sides of their fanbase happy in that situation - but again with movies containing politics, it's impossible for a professional critic not to go into a *bit* more detail with their own honest thoughts on it.

This was my second most entertaining 0% rated movie I've enjoyed since Kronk's New Groove

The only two explanations for why he decided to do this was either he got drunk and accepted it, or he needed a paycheck and didn't care what he did.

@@davidjames579 No, although I didn't get counselling from others, I did write a scathing review on Facebook and Instagram as therapy afterwards. I'm an adult who saw The Queen's Corgi all by myself and was cringing at every single inappropriate joke on-screen, and this 86-minute film felt like it went on for two and a half hours. I saw a mother and her children walk out of the theater halfway through the movie, and although I couldn't tell whether they were just having a bathroom break or actually leaving the auditorium, I could guess it was the latter.

And Detective Pikachu is a legitimately good movie, with charming characters, genuine heart and actual effort put into it, unlike this poorly-written, hateful, terrible piece of garbage.

jbiehlable Okay, calling the film hateful was a bit drastic and I may have been jumping the gun, but regardless, the Queen's Corgi is still a bad movie, with a boring, bland "character has to find his way home" plot, direct-to-DVD levels of bad animation, a wasted voice cast, and uncomfortable "jokes", about female-on-male sexual assault, and many more that Film Brain already mentioned in his review. Sorry about my tangent or if I sounded like an overprotective parent, I was just venting my emotions out. By the way, even though you're not the hugest fan of Pokemon, what do you like about Detective Pikachu, for example, the cinematography, acting and so on?

As far as I know, the MPAA haven't rated it yet. But it is absolutely meant to be a kids film, it is just full of jokes of a questionable nature.

No, I expect them to care about sexual harassment jokes in a kids film. IMO this is awful. And pretty much the reason I largely stopped doing low-quality, poorly dubbed animation from Europe.

But why even have Trump gag's in a film aimed at kids [who won't get them] at all? Similar to parodying films they [hopefully] won't have seen yet like 'Fight Club' [which was also 20 years old when it came out]. The film got 0% on Rotten tomatoes so it's was universally disliked by critics and looks really cheap.
