Anne Boleyn had at least three mottos at different times. Her first I believe was something like ‘Grumble if you like, it is what it will be’ but perhaps this seemed too defiant. She then adopted my favourite one of hers… Me and Mine. The Most Happy was used on a commemorative coin struck with her likeness, probably when she was pregnant and there was hope of a son.
Great information! Thank you. It’s always so interesting to look at these women with their mottos. It is hard to pick my favorite wife. You can see why Henry was attracted to each one of them. Anne Boleyn with Catherine of Aragon/Anna of Cleves my second!
Hands down Anne, She inured so much even prior to her downfall with courage. And she was brilliant, talented and a reformer of the church . We also have stories of her being generous to the poor. She captivated the attention of the King for seven years before marriage and was a woman "ahead of her time " in so many ways.
Just typical of Henry that most of the mottos were subservient to him. I think Anna was brave to marry him after he’d had Anne B murdered. I think she may also have become the richest woman in England at one time. She also had to learn English double quick! Can’t help but admire Anna the most. Great video 👍
