Gidle did so so so so great in Queendom. The impact that they gave was IMMACULATE! And yes, the Finale in Queendom is like... A comeback of each group who's in it. Soyeon started working on Lion since they started Queendom (ep1 of Queendom, she started writing, making demo, Producing and arranging) Once you see Soojin, specially on stage... It'll be IMPOSSIBLE not get attached to her. IMPOSSIBLE. Hope you'll react to their other Queendom intro, Latata (Queendom Version) and Solos... Like Minnie (Instagram Cover), Soojin (Senorita Cover) And yes.. I cried so many time because I was so so overwhelmed! Gidle is just... I'm proud to say that I stan them. I'm proud.

They didn't win Queendom but their 'LION' performance was the most watched performance up to this day.

Re: Put it Straight: You guessed it right, they are totally going crazy over something. The original song was a sad B-side ballad that Soyeon totally rearranged for Queendom, adding rage, grief and madness. The song is about a woman who is faced with the reality that her partner might not love her any more, and she is torn. The lyrics alternate between “Tell me you love me” (좋다고 말해 johdago malhae), that it isn’t true, that we can still be happy together, and “tell me you don’t like me” (the Korean title of the song, 싫다고 말해 silhdago malhae, but it can also be translated in other ways), that the love really is over, so that I can finally know for sure and start healing. Shuhua was the one who started Lion (after Minnie’s narration). That want people crawling after them at the end, but all the animals - lions are kings of the animal kingdom, after all. Sorry - queens!

All their queendom performance are legendary

They came in third in Queendom behind Mamamoo and Oh my girl. They were still rookies at that time, so it was expected that they did not win with that many seniors and bigger fandoms to compete with.

While Idle didn't win Queendom, I think they had one of the best stories through the show. Lion, to me, will always represent the heart of Queendom. Not just because it's a great stage of a great song. But because it said "We are already queens. Neither the results of this competition nor the denials of others will change that. We don't need mnet to crown us because we've already done it ourselves." For a show that is about testing the artistic limits and competitive spirit of girl groups, I can think of no clearer statement of victory than this fierce performance of a self produced and written song about breaking confining prejudices and overcoming adversity.

The only weak link in Idle is Cube.🤔

It's been a long time since i watch their queendom's performance, so watching you react to this gave me the same goosebumps back then i feel while watch them. You got it right about the put it straight stage, they totally can portray what broken heart really mean and they can deliver well on that performance.. Love your reaction. very relatable lol I really recommend you watch My bag performance and Never stop me. they are both from the recent album I never die so who knows they might perform it in Kpop flex and they're honestly so good. as for their older stuff I really recommend HWAA and DUMDI DUMDI also "I'm the trend" which is like a fun song for the fans and it has a fun music video

Gidle did not win the queendom. But if you watch the whole episode you’ll know how gidle won many of the viewers heart. Mamamoo deserves the win. They are legendary. But gidle performances were always something everybody looked forward too since they were not afraid to change and play all the unwanted concept in the idol industry. They are known mostly by international fans but they are not that popular in korea before queendom. Yes they did win monster rookie award when they are starting but since they are not the usual k-idol per se, they usually just on mediocre when it comes to winning music award. After queendom, their brand reputation skyrocketed. They are always included in the top 10 every month, mostly on the top5 in korea. They became one of the best 4th gen idol and even won lots of music awards since then. So i guess it is safe to say that they may have lost the battle but not the war. But as the saying goes, “ sticks and stones are only thrown at the fruit bearing tree.” Accusations and scandals followed them resulting in soojin’s living the group. 💔

Queendom uses a backing-track. All the groups did it, even Mamamoo and Park Bom. Although Bom did use her live vocals to overpower the track and Soyeon's rap verse are live the same way.

Im a Danity and I also like IDLE so much. They won the Queendom, and became much more famous after that show. They deserve it

Don't worry if you're still pronouncing the 'G' in (G)I-DLE, it wasn't the official pronunciation but it's also widely accepted in the fandom. There were cases that the group even embraced the pronunciation of 'G' when they were promoting overseas. (G)I-DLE or I-DLE is totally fine! I've been a fan of them ever since debut but I still pronounce the 'G' up to this day.

Sadly, they did not won the QUEENDOM since it was voting system, and IDLE isn't even 2 years old by that time. But that only showed how great they are in song and performance since they can spar with tenured groups. And for them, especially Soyeon, they care more about their growth as individual and group when it comes to music and artists, rather than winning awards. ~~~ PUT IT STRAIGHT is one of their bsides on their 2nd album "I-MADE". This is the Nightmare version (obvi), but they also did a special choreo called the HALLOWEEN VER. where they wore costumes. Soyeon (SY) actually suggested to use this song for their performance, but some members, especially YUQI, doesn't want to. It was logical to be honest and YUQI said that they should use a title track that is known for the audience to sing along with. BUT, Put It Straight is a ballad song, let alone a B-side, so not only it is "boring" performance-wise, it was not that known to the audience. SY then explained to them that she will recompose the song into a more intense one, and even added the rap verse. They voted once more and Yuqi agreed. SY is then again the "rebel". Idols, especially women, should always dress good, makeup to the fullest, great accessories and shoes, etc. But, on this performance, they did the unorthodox. They wore simple red dress, light makeup, danced with no shoes, danced crazily, smeared their makeup, and just uacted 'un-idol like". SY said that "They can show that they can still be beautiful and dance even without shoes on." (non-verbatim). (side note: When IDLE talk about a song or performance, they will always have a meeting and should have a unanimous vote. If not, they will get a chance to explain and defend it. If the answer is still NO, they will set that agenda aside, and move on to the next. But those "unused" song ideas can still be refined, used for another, etc. And since they create their own songs, they don't have a lot of wasted ideas since it will always be shared to the group to help them with their compositions) ~~~~~ In LION, indeed this was the first time hearing the song since SY created it for this contest while in the contest. FUN, or rather SAD FACT: SHUHUA cried so much after the performance and awarding. She was tearing up on stage, but when the crowd shouted her name congratulating her for the intro performance, she ran backstage. She was bawling her eyes out when the members came in and Soojin comforted her like a mom, and SY toughen her like a dad. SY also admitted that she messed up the lyrics on her rap part. SHUHUA cried because she thought she didn't performed good enough in the intro and on her parts.

you are spot on abt the put it straight performance!! the lyrics of the song do talk abt the heartbreak after a breakup and the 'nightmare' version with soyeon's added verse (the original song has no rap and it's very sad, whereas this version has an undercurrent of insanity) is specific for queendom only! they did do a special halloween dance practice for Put it Straight nightmare version and their costumes were very well done!

Gidle is one of my favourite kpop groups...but after soojin left...its just not them..i still like the songs and love the girls but they are not gidle anymore...of course they made it to idle now but still...soojin is my bias in the group...so i miss her so much and it feels weird not seeing her on the stage..on thing that i am happy though is that shuhua got more lines cause she has a lovely voice i love her so much
