@@MelokeiOfficialMusic I'm not going to lie, battery life has never been a concern for me. it bothers me people want a light but powerful PC on their face and then complain about 2 hours battery life. the rare occasions I do go above 2 hours, I'm either seated (I can charge) or I'll just reload my bobo battery packs 😂
299 is sweet with Batman and meta plus with upgrade I tried the quest 3 the pass tho was kinda grainy the mix was cool and fun at times but did not blow my mind the lens only saving grace I really like hand tracking as cool as eye tracking I think the psvr2 is worth it if you have a ps5 I say zero reason no it the best price for the bang if you have o.g then no I agree on the more Memory 3s is kinda pointless it like go with o.g or psvr2 and 3s get Metro, behemoth and alien on psvr2 they will have midnight walk also hitman 1 to 3 in vr its the high graphics i would recommend wacth game clip then the meta quest Exclusive with 3s and use it as tv on the go or Browse the Web. All of them is good besides the 3s 256g it will have enough room for Batman
The 128GB is back in stock for 799, but I'm not sure if its' worth it at this point, since the 512GB model is meant to soon drop to that price. Although this is Australia, so who knows if the price drop will actually happen.
best part of the 3s is the fact that it is perfect for getting into PCVR due to the fact that you store games on your pc. It does not even need any storage at all for it to be good.
So more people can play. So more people buy games....so you can enjoy better games. 2 sold 20 million headsets, 3 has sold around 2 million so far... Ideally 3s sells 20 and 3 sells 10 by the end of its life😊
Some people don't like the pancake lenses. Also the biggest why is price reduction. (If youre not a fan the 3 is very much still a thing.) Plus you know how these companies are, they gotta justify the price for the 3 being how it is. They can all definitely afford to charge less for all their models but, companies like Apple inspire a lot of Greedy business practices and get away with it so many other companies mirror that to try and get a piece of that pie too.
Steve, that is crazy and unexpected, at least for me, that Meta did this. I bet once the 256 GB or was it 128 GB Quest 3 base model is gone, Meta might just get rid of either the 128 or 256 GB Quest 3s to streamline things even more and then you have either a 128 GB $300 Quest 3s or a 256 GB $400 Quest 3s and the 512 GB $500 Quest 3. I think it makes sense to have a lower end and higher end to satisfy two different kinds of people, the more budget minded and is okay with the Quest 3s and someone who wants more storage and a Quest 3. I hope that makes sense. I already have the 512 GB Quest 3 model and know it was the right choice as I already have used more than 128 GB of storage. Asgard's Wrath 2 alone is a huge game. Thats some big news. Thanks Steve for sharing that. 😊
Such bs last time I ever buy a newer released product. Selling the 512gb for the price I paid for my 128 gb quest 3 is such crap. They could of just done that from the get go obviously but no greed comes first. So sick of meta amd thier shady business practices that don't seem to inivate vr ever. They just want to own everything so they can manipulate pricing n value. Don't get me wrong still cheaper than other options but that always comes with small issues that I consistently see with my quest 3. People who bought the 128 should be compensated for the major price change or offered some sort of free cloud storage cause 128gb was never enough for q3 since the games are much larger than the q2 versions.
Do have to have meta quest acct if so I sign up for one 2. Can I watch RU-vid videos, sync my photos videos on my phone to watch in VR 3. Can I use my recorded spatial video and watch on meta quest 3s 4. What free things or content I can do on the meta quest 3s 5. Can I use with eyeglasses I wear eyeglasses 6. Can I use external storage drive thank you!
My son will be happy Christmas morning. This might be the hot holiday item that is hard to find if you wait too long so I preordered today So now we'll have a quest 2, 3, and 3s :)
Seems to me that the Q3s should have at least come with 255Gb for $299, maybe $199 with 128Gb. This would make it a more sensible budget headset for new users and/or those who want to upgrade their Q2. I preordered my Q3/512Gb last year and now feel a little ripped off that it cost me $150 more. Still, not as ripped off as when my preordered QPro went from $1,500 to $1,000. Oh well, that's the Meta VR business for you; delight, then disappoint, lol!
You understand the tech that goes into these things right? $299 for all these cameras, sensors, top of the line chip, good ram, display, lenses and more is a very good deal. They're selling these at a loss already, no doubt about it
@@Master.Jedi.Kenobi Ya, the 3s is still pretty good value. I just feel sorry for new 3s users needing to put up with a lower res single panel screen, fresnel lens, poor IPD adjustability, and lover fov. As long as they still get a good VR experience, that's the main thing though.
@@tomc1380 Yeah, many people think the Q3 is too expensive so this is a good product for those people. Eases the access price to VR while allowing games to stay at the exact same quality as Q3 thanks to the MR, same chip and ram. Sad about the shortcomings but if they wanted all that they'd buy the Q3. This is a good product at a good price and I do hope it expands the VR market a lot
@@SteveKnows ok price drop now seems to be live, not sure bout the play now pay later thing as I wasn’t signed in on my tablet so couldn’t go to checkout.
What do you want to know? We only got a small demo so I think we tried to big games, Batman, behemoth and metro. At least I did, the same productivity features m at quest 3
Awesome! I'm gonna upgrade my wifey from my old Q2 to a 3S ASAP. Thanks Steve. you told me all I need to know without having to listen to that Zucker-muppet. 👍 💪🏻 P.s It begs the question: What will be the point of dropping the Quest lite next year.... or is that now cancelled?
@@Holo_siight of course it makes since it’s $200 cheaper. Most people don’t care about the fresnel lenses if they did the Quest2 wouldn’t still be outselling the Quest 3.
The way meta see it if you have a Quest 2 or jumping in for the 1st time them get a Quest 3S but if you already have the Quest 3 then your covered Meta said in a interview
Pretty spot on! The Quest 3S was supposed to be the Quest 3 we got told, but at the time they couldn’t afford it so they upgraded somethings and went premium for the enthusiasts
Just as a hint, the quest is not available worldwide - Frustratingly, it is available in Spain, but not in Portugal for example. Meaning that when I bought my Quest 3 from amazon, the price wasn't the 649, but quite a bite higher, somewhere around 730€. That might justify going for the quest 3s 256g instead, if the prices scale.
Ok so from what I see the Quest 3s is just an upgraded version of the Quest 2 with the capabilities of the Quest 3 so for anyone who ain't willing to pay for the Quest 3 buy this but don't complain that it's the same as the Quest 2 because of the lens because that's the point of it , to make it cheaper to make for all the casuals that may or may not have a quest 2 collecting dust somewhere
Wireless no delay not sure is possible but wireless solutions that don’t use Bluetooth and use a 2.4ghz band are pretty amazing I was able to play expert beatsaber using those style
@@SteveKnows ya, i have some of those too with the dongle… just pretty shit for someone who os trying to save money… i mean i have my quest 3 and wired headphones or the usb c dongle ones, but if im trying to convince my cheap friends to upgrade its just a stupid hidden fee basically. And limited options
Fantastic video Steve and hoping to get my Quest 3 at the cheaper price now to not only have a good day, but the best one. Keep up the fantastic work you do so well!
if i buy the meta quest 3 now or next month i'll get batman arkham shadow for free(once it comes out) or only when it comes out the offer officially starts?
Literally happens in every industry. I know it suck because it happened to me with a gaming PC. Trust me I get your frustration but that can literally happen with anything a car a TV, PC, like me ect.
@@steffendetrick I guess it wouldn't be so bad if they didn't do the same thing to the Quest 1 we bought...They really need to stop pumping out hardware and let the devs catch up..
Quest 3 has more pixels and larger Field of view. So games look better on Quest 3 than on Q3S. altough, i think the new 3S might be able to maintain a higher refresh rate because of less pixels.
you get more battery from the 3S, and same chipset but slightly less resolution display and fresnel lenses but when you are playing you don’t care or think about it 3S is a great budget device
It can do both. Mostly you use the Meta Quest store for games installed on the device. But you can hook it up to a PC and use something like Steam to play your PC VR games. I've got the old Oculus Quest 2 64gb. While not a lot of space with 64gb on it I have plenty of games installed on it to play w/o a PC.
@@MrMynameisjonaz I was looking into this and it seems you need something like a virtual PC. Because the cables don't come with it and there's Oculus you have to install. But I dunno. Can that take it away from me buying one? I thought I could just play some VR games on steam on this. But if that's not the case what VR should I get that does that. And will it also still do all the other fancy things like emulate the PC or watch movies.
Quest has somthing to stream the games from pc free but people prefer the virtual pc app because it works better... You will enjoy just buying games without pc and watching movies from the headset just fine ubless there is a specific game you want that only on pc... Like half life alyx
Very much depends on your face shape. Additionally, a lot of people don't know you can adjust the pressure by angling the strap. I'm on the same boat; the default quest 3 strap is fine. The comfort still doesn't come anywhere near any of my pcvr headsets though.
Dude what the fuck are you saying its LITTERALY the quest 2 replacement. It's for the people that dont want to cough up $500 on a headset and want to either get in vr Or upgrade their quest 2, I for one will be getting it as upgrade to my quest 2 as i quite like frensnel lenses and just want a hardware upgrade and not cough up an extra $200 Side note If you are an enthusiast or HAVE the quest 3 ITS NOT FOR YOU STOP BITCHIN.
@@hoganzeros3572 I hope a lot sooner. But well I understand I am not the averige consumer. I read somewhere else that the ar glasses cost 10k, what is why they don't release. Thats a real shame because I would not mind paying 10k for those glasses.
$100 extra gets you 128GB you’ll never get close to filling anyway. $100 more extra gets you some of the best lenses in the market and half a TB of storage you’ll never fill. I’m not exactly complaining but man the 256GB 3S looks dumb. Like they’re *trying* to do the Apple price ladder thing but you need an actual ladder guys this is the floor, a cardboard box and standing on the table.
