I think there's abit of a misconception about Blackie. Some people think hes a jerk and doesnt like his fans. Not true.. He's a very bright man and loves baseball. Big Yankees fan. I met him back in 96' and he wasn't very engaging with fans and with good reason- if they weren't obnoxiously shoving stuff in his face to sign they kept asking the same wasp questions he's answered a million times. I bring up the Yankees? He talked my ear off . Even signed my Yankee hat. Blackie is an awesome guy
I understand what you mean but it's not a reson to ignore your fans. You're a rock'n'roll legend so answering the same questions is a part of you freaking job. Don't wanna do it anymore? Write an autobiography! That would be awesome and it will give your fans a lot more new questions to ask.
@@Idollisimo It doesn't matter who or what you are. everyone tires of doing the same thing over and over. So jimmys question was a breath of fresh air for him
I agree, I bumped into him, Chris and Johnny Rod in (I think) 1989 outside a hotel in Manchester. He, and the other guys, were really cool and chatty and had no problem signing our jackets…this was pre-mobile phones unfortunately so didn’t get a pic
Anyone who made their career being a godless rock roll animal who is also a weak assed baseball "fan" is a pathetic fake loser. Fuck baseball and fuck this "born again Christian" asshole. He made his fame being a sinner, now he wants to "go to heaven" , fuck him.
Super smart extremely well cultured guy having played so much overseas and having a huge fan base overseas He talks about a lot of things he likes intelligent questions which props to VIP greet people who have been asking great questions not childish stuff. Also people grow up over time we all do. He isn't the same 21 year old rocker with anarchy attitude and Ego and all that comes with being young and fuck the system attitude if he was he would be faking it. He seems like a happy dude now more appreciative of life long fans. Also sometimes people confuse being a good business man in a ruthless cold industry with ego brash etc. In the music industry to get ahead you gotta have a little Gene Simmons in you unfortunately or fortunately your pick lol
Blackie seems like a decent guy in these recent videos. Over the years he has gotten a lot of flack from others for being a jerk. Maybe it’s his return to his faith in God that changed him.
It has NOTHING to do with his "faith". It's all about his arrogance, and not acknowledging his supporting cast. Why do you think he's gone through 30 band members over the years???? Think about it....
At least he didn't bitch about anyone like Chris does. Can't wait for him to release his auto-biography he is releasing once he finishes it. Also Blackie is an introvert and very shy, some people don't relaise that about him so may come off aloof at times.
That was a good question I went to see that movie when I was a kid only because it was the village people and I appreciate the fact that you gave me some knowledge I saw this once I never new blackie was in this
Blackie's my favorite singer. I appreciate vocals from gods like Geoff Tate, Rob Halford, Ronnie Dio, Sebastian Bach, Mark Boals, Dave Coverdale, Axl of course, but Blackie's vocals are by far my favorite. My all time favorite song is still "Kill your pretty face" from the KFD release. That track, and "The Horror" are beautiful.
The moodiest person I've ever encountered... I came early one day to the venue where WASP were about to play and here comes Blackie from a car walked right passed me without looking at me at the eye or say Hi back. I was carrying a record hoping he'd sign it. Never the less big fan
Was wondering the same thing! Maybe he didn't recognize him because his hair was a lot longer then, and I don't think he normally wore glasses either (you can correct me on the latter, Doc, if you want!).
I wonder if anyone asked him about being turned down for the terminator 2 movie Arnold complained blackie was to tall for the position so the liquid metal man was originally gonna be blackie but was to tall
If this was 1979, was he even known as Blackie Lawless then or did he still go by Blackie Goozeman? Also, that Village People movie would've likely been between Sister breaking up and Circus Circus forming, so at about 3 years before he formed WASP.
I suppose that he should have probably got some exercise in his later years. The Gatorade, he might as well drink water from east palinstine. Gatorade is banned in Europe because of the chemicals in its Google it. 😮
Oh come on as a life long wasp fan we appreciate these side bits its a side you rarely see. And believe me this man is very articulate and intelligent much more than you'll ever be
F****** me and the horse I rode in on now I'll tell you a f****** funny story wasp are my favourite band and funny enough when I was a kid I was in to glam rock in the UK and soul music and I freaking loved YMCA I cannot believe that the big man was in it I've got to download another copy of that and watch it that is just priceless I'm fantastic that big daddy is having so much fun
