Sleeping in separate rooms isn’t always a sign of a bad marriage. If one or both of them snore, for example, it could be enough to want to sleep separately to get a decent nights sleep. Not defending this particular marriage but just another perspective on that point.

He's not speaking to his wife at all on the call. Asked several times if she's awake, he says "I don't know" but still won't use her name to try to talk to her or keep her "awake".
There have been many examples of guilty persons passing a lie detector test, and many innocent people failing them. The exact reason they’re not admissible in court.
Absolutely. The polygraph isn't an accurate detection method for lying. Some research suggests its accuracy is somewhere around 50%, but it depends on the person admistering the proceedure. This makes its accuracy around the same as a coin toss, which of course, is more or less worthless. The use of it is mostly to elict a confession from someone who believes the polygraph is detecting their dishonesty. This is why it's always best to refuse a polygraph if asked, regardless of your guilt or innocence.
The police do not even want them to be admissable. This way they can threaten and pressure you with them, but you can not use them yourself as evidence if it ever comes to a trial.
The guy is super unlucky to be having a texting affair then his wife gets randomly murdered in her bedroom after asking for a divorce. Random killings of spouses nearly always have the other partner having an affair. So folks if find out your partner is having an affair be vigilant as you probably going to be murdered by a stranger.
Now that you mention it, you’re so right. It’s insane at how many of these cases the spouse that lives is always having an affair but it’s never them that did it. The only thing they did wrong was the affair 🥴🙄

It happens here in Seattle all the time. I'm on the neighbor's app and see people trying doorknobs constantly and they can actually see the person in home in their living room at times
That was a real surprise that the son was arrested for child rape and molestation 18 months later. That, along with the husband in jail, raises even more doubts about what went on behind the scenes in that household.
It makes me wonder if perhaps the son, Jacob, was the actual murderer. 12 years before the murder had occurred, Jacob was arrested on suspicion of child molestation but charges were later dropped. 4 years before the murder, Jacob had to register as a sex offender for being caught molesting 2 young girls. He was also fired from his job as a highway patrol officer because of this. Makes me wonder if the mom perhaps had anything to do with him being caught and maybe he held a grudge against her for “ruining his life” or something. The Dad might have even had an inkling that his son could be responsible, but didn’t want to throw him under the bus since he wasn’t for sure…and this was his son after all, who he loved. 2 years after the murder, he had to spend 180 days in jail for molesting a little boy. And then a couple of years after that is when he r*ped a child and was sentenced to prison for 26 years.

Let's not forget he passed a lie detector. That proves 2 things: one, if you're ever asked to take one to eliminate yourself, you WON'T be eliminated so don't do it, and two, law enforcement doesn't believe they are valid at all either so they must have another plan, like lie to you about the results to trick you, so again, don't do it.
Polygraph machines (as well as the Reid technique in general) are basically a non-physical way of beating a confession out of someone. And the former is nothing more than a crude reaction detector that can be fooled by clenching your sphincter. The repetition they use can and does gaslight innocent people into falsely confessing.
What you said is so true! They will absolutely lie about you failing the lie detector. Quite a few years ago, I was working at a restaurant when I came in one morning to find that money was missing from the night deposit. I was the one who found the missing money. I contacted my supervisor to let them know. They ended up having all the managers and assistant managers having to take a lie detector. After I took mine, for over 2 hours the police kept telling me I failed the test and they know I was guilty. I said I am the one who found the shortage! They said you are smart enough to do that to try and not be suspicious. 5 days later, I found out from my supervisor I had actually passed the test. I learned a hard lesson….never trust the police!
polygraphs aren’t usually upheld/taken seriously in a court of law because there’s a 10% inaccuracy. So if anyone thinks they truly passed one, they didn’t.
Imagine what this poor woman went through behind closed doors. I'm sure the extended family did believe he was a good guy, because his wife and kids probably hid the truth very well.

That's such a fucked up thing to do to your own kid. When I got to that part of his plan I couldn't believe my ears. What a narcissist! That poor kid had to feel like if he'd been a few minutes quicker to get there he could've saved her, and maybe he still does.

Yeah I agree with Becky here, I believe he meant it in a way that he's sensitive to making sure she isn't disturbed. But Yeah... Nah, not sensitive enough to be chatting away with an old High school flame??🤔 Sh*t don't make a lot of sense to me. I actually think the slip-up during the interragation that the second Prosecutor pointed out was a lot more telling then the 911 call debate. Either way, this is one of those cases where we will never TRULY know exactly what transpired. I hate cases like this because as a fan of true crime, you always want to know with certainty who the Killer is and in this case we simply have our opinions. My opinion is I believe he's guilty... I think he killed her... but I would NOT want to be on the jury with this case because Idk if the prosecution gave me enough to say beyond a reasonable doubt he kill her?? If he DID kill her, he's right where he belongs. The fact that his biological son is a twisted sicko.... only strengthens my opinion on this guy.
If an intruder did come through the window, the blinds would’ve been disturbed either when he was climbing in or when he left in a panic after he stabbed her. Moreover, there should’ve been screams or noises from a struggle and Mark should’ve heard it. If lets say the intruder killed her without her making a noise then there’s no need for him to leave in a panic. He would’ve ransacked the room at the very least. Mark murdered her so he could be with another woman.
Yeah there's something fishy going on with that family seriously. It's clear he killed her, like you said, the blinds would have been disturbed, the way they demonstrated the blinds not being disturbed, Someone would literally have to contort their body, not be in a rush.
The 911 call done for him. Not so much the fist sentence but his inability to tell 911 if she’s awake, breathing or able to provide the help 911 is asking for on her behalf. Why wasn’t he shouting her name? Why can’t he describe her condition at all? The timeline is suspicious as well with the crime scene looking older than when he describes hearing screams

Wow this is definitely a weird one! I almost wish that I didn’t know about the son being convicted of child rape. I know that it’s not right to judge the father based upon the son’s crimes but I cannot stop wondering if there’s more to this family then they want to people to see. I just don’t know if I can form an unbiased opinion on this one.
@@___DRIP___ Being a murderer doesn’t do much in the way of bolstering his credibility in regards to other suspected crimes. Heck there may even be an argument that he killed his wife because she found out that he was a sexual deviant. So my guess is that the comment was made with the belief that someone that kills his wife after 30+ years of marriage may be just as capable of harming children as he was capable of killing his wife. Or at the very least had some dark secrets that he didn’t want revealed. That being said, I am not 100% convinced that he did kill his wife.

Add in to have a corner sent..It means both 11 meaning possible fatality 44 meaning send coroner... (I'm not trying to be a smart aleck) just wanted to add the full meaning of that code for that area..

I say he's guilty because of what he said to the girlfriend. If the talk was so innocent why would he even make the remark about "something terrible having to happen". I think he was saying his true feelings that day and either killed her on purpose or rationalized killing her in a moment of anger. Everyone saying they were so happy, that's like the worst reason to think he's innocent. Those "tight" mormon communities are usually alot of people trying to appear perfect for God but really for their own self righteousness! I believe that environment makes people suppress their real desires and do what's "godly or expected" of them. They were together since high school, that marriage was probably "suggested" by the "elders".
Maybe he meant, something would have to happen before he would ever leave his wife. How many times did he go meet her? How many times did he sleep with her? Are you even capable of rational thinking? Don't ever be on a jury, you're not capable of a fair judgement. Nothing they presented showed guilt. If we went thru every message of phonecall, what could we make of it? You honestly believe that it's just a coincidence this man started "being friends" with a woman he jokingly said some suspicious stuff to, then his wife died. A woman with no enemies, a burglar who didn't take anything, and him being the only one home was a coincidence. He said he heard a cat outside but didn't hear his wife struggling with a burglar? So was she silent the whole time? She didn't "yelp" like most of us do when we are surprised huh? This man showed very little emotion and gave the dumbest alibi. There was no urgency to save her life. There was blood everywhere and he says "I found my wife sick". This guy was counting on people like you to be on that jury. Yeah, let's just forget the human side of this case, he didnt text his girlfriend that he was gonna kill his wife so lets ignore all the convenient "coincidences in his story. I get that it wasn't enough legally, but seriously who else did this?

I would like for there to be someone who is very skilled to have each jury member show they understand why they are entering the verdict they decide upon. To be able to express how they eliminate any reasonable doubt. Because most will only end up with well I think there's a good. Chance he did it, I mean who else could have done it? Find out who else,. Cause as long as you have that question, it's not guilty.
Common people, how many times have we heard that story of the burglar who walks in, kills the occupant (instead of just tying them up...) then leaves the scene without taking anything even though the occupant is now dead thus no longer a problem...? Plus, the husband is sleeping nearby and didn't hear any of the commotion and possible screams of his wife getting stabbed in her room...? Plus, at the beginning of the call, it sounds to me like he said: "I stabbed my wife, sh*t"... If you listen to it with headphones and loud, it's definitely a "st" (stabbed) sound, not a "f" (found) sound... Be real people...
Actually, that's very strange. Because this video claimed he said "I KILLED my wife, shi*" Or "I found my wife, sick" NEITHER words were 'STABBED', like You heard! Also, they've literally done studies on this Exact thing, where READING and LISTENING to audio can change your perception of what exactly you're HEARING. In other words, You listen to audio, trepeat what you've heard. TheN, they will have you READ different words and the audio changes, the words change to sound like what they're telling you, that's what your ears pick up, what words are flashing on the screen. I don't know if any of that made sense, but essentially, it sounds exactly like this video. And I am not saying that's either here nor there, but just pointing it out.
I heard “found” the first time listening (maybe the subtitles), but after going back and listening to it again, I can’t not hear “killed” every time now.
You don't need to decipher lies from truth, you just need to observe the evidence and ask yourself if its able to prove the case without reasonable doubt.
These people are so deeply entrenched in the insanity of their cult that they would rather embrace murder and child sex abuse rather than be humiliated within their religious community.
My opinion is that it is more likely he said “I’ve found my wife, shit there’s blood everywhere”, than “I’ve found my wife, sick there’s blood everywhere”. The first sentence makes sense for someone who found a loved one dead, the second does not, particularly if someone was trying to deceive the 911 operator.
I guarantee everyone heard the first one . No one hears "kill" unless you put the word in front of them as it is played. It's a trick on the mind. It used all the time. There was a entire episode of "Brain Games" based around it.
I know he did not say I killed my wife. Especially if he had supposedly killed her hours earlier according to them as med was trying to get away with it. So dumb.
Even if he did say "sick", it's not exactly a stretch. At times of high stress and trauma- which is exactly walking in on your spouse covered in blood with no explanation for what just happened- you can sometimes have a difficult time finding the right words. "Sick" doesn't exactly describe what's going on but in your mind, you've had the words "sick, hurt, etc" classed together since childhood. The fact that everyone tries to take everything so literally- even from someone under extreme, unexpected and traumatic stress- is ridiculous.

I agree totally. I don't think there was enough evidence for the prosecutor to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he killed her but I believe he is the one who killed his wife so he pursue the other woman. Too much circumstantial evidence to think anyone other than him killed her.
@@ccchhheeennn2 I'll tell you what I think the most obvious indicator is that he's guilty: He wants us to believe he was in bed, his son came home, went straight to bed, and then, pops apparently hears cat noises which lead to him discovering the body. Let's look at this. Granted, some people might get out of bed to the sound of cat noises. Not me. I'm 43. I'd heard enough cat noises by the age of about 25 to know it's a couple of cats unexpectedly meeting in the alley out back, and not the demonic uprising it sounded like. I roll my eyes and go back to sleep. I think the man in this video was at least my age, if not older. Yet cat noises had him jumping out of bed? And according to him, because he didn't want them waking up his wife? Why? I've known many wives to wake up in the middle of the night. Not one of them died as a result. In fact, 100% of them just... went back to sleep. There's a couple of cats in the alley, who gives a fk? It's like something a man would write as a scene in a movie: The burglar jumps out the window in a panic, disturbs a cat that was resting on the ground outside (who had somehow, coincidentally, chosen that exact spot after the burglar had entered FROM that same spot). Cat noise, meowwwwww! Charles Bronson rushes to that room, aims his gun out the window and plugs the bad guy. Opening credits. Boom. See what I mean? It sounds made up. If he'd let her lay there dead all night and found her in the morning, I'd understand. That's normal, believable behaviour. But just after your son gets home, goes to bed, you hear cat noises? Leading you to the body? Oh really now? 🤨 It's not solid proof he did it, but it's enough for me to dismiss claims he was definitely innocent. But I admit, this is a very hard case to know, one way or the other, at least based on this video alone.
@BlackBannerProductions why is there no murder scene beyond her dead body as if someone carefully cleaned themselves up after killing her? If someone had stabbed her they definitely would've gotten blood on themselves and it would've shown on the way out the window but that isn't there. Also it looks like he did the one slash in the screen and didn't even climb through it to make it look like anybody had. It wasn't torn from the frame or anything and it doesn't take a lot of weight on a screen to pull it out of the frame. It's way too clean of a murder for it to be done hastily by a would be burglar. Also why would some cats wake him up but not his wife struggling with her murderer? As well as the fact that the on scene firefighters said the murder scene looked like it had taken place hours beforehand.
Mom was a college professor, one son a firefighter, another son a highway patrolman. Family was connected in the community who would of course back their own. Not surprised by the mistrial followed by conviction. Eventually, things hidden will come to light. Like the dark deeds of the highway patrol son of theirs. I am sure a lot of people in that community were second guessing their ability to judge character and how well did they really know people after the two familial convictions.
Often enough. And you can't convict someone because the alternative is "unlikely" we don't send people to prison because "statistically its usually the husband so just jail the husband and call it a day"

I feel that it’s likely he did it, but cannot understand how this was “proven beyond a reasonable doubt”. Serious problem with the justice system if you can get convicted on that little.
If I was ever accused of something, I wouldn't have a jury trial. So many times you hear jurors say " I wasn't quite sure, but this one piece of circumstantial evidence changed my mind." That's not beyond a reasonable doubt.
Circumstantial evidence. He said he was in the house the whole time. How could he be on the living room couch and awake after hearing "cats" while she was being stabbed to death in her bedroom? He proved he was there, heard something, was awake. Probably the best circumstantial evidence I’ve seen. The trial was quite good, especially the coroner.
He did it. I used to be a herion addict and I broke into homes over 200 and I came across sleeping people and if they woke up I ran so fast that window blind thing I would have jumped through it and it would be destroyed it would look like someone jumped through it. And I have gone through just that same window situation and because the window in low you can I have many times you do it slowly and you don't make any noise you just move it as you slid in it's so easy and no one will hear a thing or see damage. But on my way out if I had met a waking person I used to run like a freak I jumped from a 3rd story window and broke my foot in over 30 places it was so damaged I still walk with a slight limp. That was over 30 years ago and I did 4 years in prison for 18 burgs. I never went back to drugs. The way he cut the streen is another thing I did that as well, but it's a problem because it's very loud, I had a knife and each single mm cut makes this big noise and he cut it the wrong way you do the bottom not all the way just a foot on the bottom and two or less up so you can squeeze thru. Try it at home in night and feel how wrong it feels cutting the screen. I worked out the best way and I used a blanket and it muffled the very loud sound of the cutting. Why if yr there to do a burg and a woman is there would you kill her. I had that experience many times and I simply ran out. You want money for herion you don't want life in prison. It's absurd. He found her and like most men that try to stage a crime they want another family member there because it helps with the acting. U do not cut a screen like thst it's so ridiculous as someone that's done it a lot. Somtimes I cut a foot by foot like a L but you only need a little flap you don't do the whole window from top down that's so noisey and just stupid. And you know this the very first time you have to cut one. It's common sense because it's loud as f***. He killed her that's just how it is. I should restate something, you don't just not kill a person in a home you broke into not just because you don't want life in prison but because you do not want to kill anyone ever, yes you are a junky on a slippery slope of moral decae ,but to kill a human over drugs or money to me is the most evil thing possible. I find people that kill for money worse than a person that kills for no reason or the reasons in his head,. I used to carry a knife and many homes there were women alone , and I'd get in so quite that they don't know but then you walk out and you find out and you bail so quickly. IV never thought to confront them. It's me doing wrong I ALLways knew this and I ALLways knew I'd pay big time. I once got caught red handed because I broke into a empty home and I went straight to the front door because I got in the back door to make sure the front was an escape but it was dead locked and it couldn't be opened and a car pulled in the driveway at the back door that I broke into and I had a knife a skrewdriver and a crowbar, I quickly ran upstairs to smash a window and get away and I thought Robert you can't keep running ,it was like a voice in my head, you have to change or you will suffer so much. And I went downstairs and a woman came in and saw me and she was so afraid because I had a skrewdriver and a crowbar in my hands and she was shaking but I didn't move then her husband came in and he was frightened as well because I didn't say anything yet and I could have easily said get out of my way or I'll do whatever and they would have done what I said. So he's scared and I saw both frightened just looking at me and I dropped the things and I said call the police and I sat down and I apologized to them, and then the man got smart with me once I submitted, I found that funny. And I the police got me and I had only been out of prison for a 4 weeks or something and I'm glad I got out in prison because I deserved it. Those people don't deserve to be treated that way. IV had my home broken into 3 times over the 30 years and I understand the feeling of being violated and not feeling safe in yr own home, it's horrible. And I did that to so many people. I still feel a deep sense of shame.
@@allisonj905 you would hope so really, I have made progress in areas and then there are things that I still feel weird about. A crisis of meaning or a existential crisis. I have not stolen a thing since I got out of prison last and I am ashamed that I was so selfish. At the time I really did not care if I killed a person or I killed myself. I was a nilhistic pathetic child. I have learnt that drugs are so destructive, they can make a good man bad really easy. I have a strong sense of ethics and morality, because I lost my way and I allmost died so many times. I hurt so many people and thus is something I still feel guilty about. I invaded so many people's homes and businesses and it's a wicked thing to do to strangers. IV tried to make up by being kind and generous and I'll never go back to that hell of herion and prison. Knowing that you have caused so many people to feel horrible is something that weighs on my conscience. I wonder if I can balance the bad IV done with good deeds, IV been trying for over 28 years, to be a selfish egotistical brat is something I never thought I would be. I have to forgive myself or I will never get over it. I do volunteer work I feel it's like community service. I'm so ashamed. I'm lucky beyim alive and I have the opportunity to change and to make it right. This life.

@@samsamcupcakes6476 yes and no, when I had herion in me I could plan, when I'd be desperate and crazy I did not care if I was caught, I wanted to be stopped and put in prison because I had been to rehabs as a juvenile and I was in juvenile prisons about 10 times and that was the only time I stopped using because it wasn't in there. But when I planned things there was nothing to stop me, no door metal or wood can stop a crow bar. This is in the 90s and on a job I did were I got into a jewelry store and the safe was open and I took so much and the man that owned it went broke and the shop was closed. I felt bad for that when I was clean. I took small safes I broke into safes I stole 6 purses in 1minit at a gym. All the women put them in this small room and I took out the small thing with the money and cards and put them all down my track suit pants and walked out past them and it looked so ridiculous. I got into a funeral home and I opened the cold rooms and there was 3 dead body's in there and they had a small cash tin and it had 4700$ and I was happy but I cut my self on the glass and left my blood and DNA and when I got out of prison about 3 years after the detectives came to my house to get DNA and I was so afraid because I only got caught for about 15% of the crimes I did, but they never came back. I guess they assumed because I did so many different crimes that I may have a rape or a murder. But I never hurt people that way I didn't even see people I am not that kind that can put a gun in yr face, I like creeping around and finding the way in, I felt I was proving that I was clever. But cunning is not intellectual it's what animals have. If someone came in when I was in there home I snuck out, I once stayed all-night under a bed of a man and woman and it was hard and scary because I just felt they knew I was there but they both left for work in the morning and I'd been under the bed since like 9 pm and I needed to wee so bad. I found a gun in his wordrobe but it didn't work I found a slug gun as well and knifes and I took them and I found in her draw the same draw that was ALLways the place women put money. I took a guitar a Martin because I play the guitar and it was worth about 8 grand and I got sick and sold it for 100$ that's what herion does to you. That guitar was unbelievable, a accustic electric. American made. I was ALLways hoping to find a hand gun so I could bury it and if I needed to kill myself I just wanted it burried. Because I knew I was going to get caught and I wanted it and I was afraid of prison and how much time I'd get .but there are not many guns here thank god. Or I could have been shot. The best thing for a herion addict is to treat them like a health issues instead of locking you up because you get so angry in there you want to destroy. Now here they send you to rehabs if yr crimes are not violence, mine were not, just stealing to get herion. Back then they didn't give you methadone or Suboxone you just had to go through the sickness. Now they put you on methadone or Suboxone the day yr in custody. So you don't have to go through the pain. I think the pain is good because it's hard and you remember how bad it is and I never went back to herion. I did it the hard way but it worked for me, it didn't work for anyone else I knew they just got much worse till they robbed banks and got guns and robbed dealers and hurt a lot of people. I knew this guy that in 2 weeks he got out of prison he robbed like 14 banks and other buissnes and he got 27 years. He was just 21. He did home invasions were he stabbed people to give him the druggs, he became a violent offender when he wasn't before. Prison can make you worse or change you for better. He was crazy, he shot a drug dealer as well he was on a rampage every day all day and night. He only had 2 weeks if freedom. There were many like him. Many bank robber s back then. And guys that blew up with gas cash machines, and they got a lot of money. They would pour a gas into the machine and then light it and it blew the whole thing out and they took the cash boxes. One time they blew up the bank by accident and got nothing. They also blew them up then put chains or cable arond it and drove off with it behind a car or small truck. They all stoped around 98, 99, when banks put into place extra security and measures so the machine could not be taken, . There were at least 10 gangs doing them almost every day. A gang got 3million in cash and got away with it, it's unsolved and it was one of the smartest armed robberies on a bank truck. They had road workers digging up the road this truck took in Sydney and lollipop men with signs to say stop and they had on all the gear looked legit but there was a car with the gunmen in it waiting and they didn't have to hurt anyone and they got away with it. These men are not herion addicted they are full criminals. That do it as a way to make a living. Very different from me, they are very smart and disaplined like army soldiers, they stay very fit in prison and no one messed with them and they didn't talk to people, I became friends with one and he never once talked about his crimes, he tried to train me in boxing and weights and he taught me that the way I was going I'd be in and out of prison allmy life. He only got caught once and got 12 years for a bank. He was called a mastermind by the judge, it was one of his co-offenders that gave him up. He got out before me and he said he will never do crime again and he didn't. Boy was he a hard man. His dad was in veitnam in Australian army and so he had that hard edge, his dad came back messed up and used to drink and beat him. He was a very intelligent man, well read, and could get a well paying job. He helped me change. The way he was respected compared to drug addicts, if anyone tryed to put the bounce on him he was a brutal fighter. Very intense man but he saw something in me of himself when he was 18, and he told me the truth. I was a bum. He was right.
From what was shown in this video, interrogation, and other clips I totally don't understand how he was convicted... I'm not saying he's innocent - I have no clue, but I didn't see or hear even one piece of evidence that would prove him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt! ⁉️🤔⁉️
for sure... like the "when I..." is obviously just a false start for a sentence. he was likely going to say "when I found her" in regards to that gash not bleeding. I do this in normal circumstances, just completely switching my sentence after starting another. usually because I forgot what I was going to say. so I couldn't imagine being in a situation like this and NOT making mistakes like that.

“I’m a considerate guy…” I know people react differently to trauma but if your wife had been murdered, and you found her, I don’t think attempting to sway the police interrogating you that you are considerate would be thought or stated if you were innocent.
Imagine: you find your beloved wife of 30 years dead in a horrific scene. You call the ambulance and police, trying to save her. You find out your wife has passed away and even worse, murdered. You want to help police find the killer, you answer their questions. And slowly as the questions keep coming you begin to realise that they think you've done it. You know you haven't done it, you want them to find the person who did. What do you do? Trying to convince the police I didn't do it would be on my mind, I have no idea how I would convince them. A gut feeling shouldn't put anyone in prison.
it's hard to say for sure. to me it doesn't make sense at all for him to kill his wife for a woman he never met in person. as suspicious as he sounded at times, i do feel it overall doesn't add up for him to murder his wife unless there were deeper issues between them that never came to light. then again...the burglary story seems highly unlikely too. all this doubt though is exactly why his conviction is hard to stand by.
This is a tough case, for sure. I find it odd that he says he heard a weird noise, then found her in the bedroom after checking outside- I don't believe the killer would've gotten away after that short amount of time between him checking outside, then going to the bedroom. It's also weird that the screen was facing inside of the room, but if said killer escaped, they would've had to yeet themselves back out quickly before he walked in to catch him, plus the fact the blood at the scene was determined to be hours old. I don't think there was actually another person at the scene.
This RU-vid channel does such a great job putting these videos together! I could watch this channel's content all day and never feel like I wasted my time. As for the case - I won't say he didn't do it but if I was on the jury and this video was the only information I was allowed to consider I would not be able to vote 'guilty.'

While I’m not 100% positive , I do believe he killed his wife. Having read some of the trial transcript and the psychological tells this man shows I draw the aforementioned conclusion.
He wanted to change in his old model for a new piece of tail and wanted the house, kids and life insurance, he almost pulled it off. Nobody wants to believe their own family would do such a evil selfish thing. Many spouse's have been killed for money and or a new squeeze.
I think the most likely scenario is she went to bed and then came back for something, possibly a glass of water, and she found him using that 2nd cellphone while watching the baseball game. She then found out he was texting the same girl and said she wanted a divorce. He he grabbed the knife on the kitchen block because it was the most convenient weapon.
Why would you say your wife is sick when she and the room is completely covered in blood. I’ve looked over this case before and it never sat right with me. I still believe the son did it and the husband covered for him and ultimately the son got what he deserved

On the 911 call he just doesn't sound like someone that's trying to convince the operator that he's distraught. I think he's probably a weird guy and maybe not very bright, but sounds like he's being genuine

As soon as the video started I was thinking what a weird thing to say “I found my wife sick, I mean there blood everywhere”… it most likely was a slip up and he fumbled the ball within the first 2 seconds of his staged call. These people man smh. The world is a scary ass place. Everyone out there choose your partners wisely. Don’t settle, don’t stay because you’re embarrassed to get divorced or break up. If your partner gives you weird vibes or hints that they’re crazy, believe them and gtfo. Not saying this guy definitely said that or did do it but you can always sort of tell when the spouse who just murdered their partner just isn’t acting right.
By his own confession, this is more overwhelming circumstantial evidence than I’ve ever seen. He was in the living room, heard cats, and was awake. At that time, she was being stabbed to death in her bedroom. Same house. Same time.

This family was all about appearances. Mark resented Karen and felt stuck as their religious cult doesn’t approve of divorce. He obsessed over the woman from high school and only way his twisted, narcissistic mind thought he could have her was to kill his wife. Karen’s family is delusional. Supporting the murderer seems to be a recurring theme for families unwilling to face the reality. The blood splatter on his shorts also can’t be ignored.

Cheating, no matter how pathetic (just divorce) it is, doesn't make someone necessarily a murderer, but I find it strange that the family of the victim would stick with someone who at least betrayed her like that and when there are some clear shady behaviors.
I watched this story on Dateline, and it’s strange that there is no mention of a lie detector test being passed by him on Dateline, or the involvement of the FBI on this case. There are ways to pass a test like that though, especially if you’ve been clean most of your life. The fact that they were sleeping apart speaks volumes. My parents slept apart for many, many years. As children we don’t understand, it wasn’t until we were adults and married ourselves, and we spoke more with our mother, and we asked those HARD questions to our mother, that’s we knew the truth. My mother did not love my father, she stopped loving him at some point because he had cheated on her. She simply stayed married for us…the children. They faked is all through our childhood. Many marriages fake being happy for the kids. But once you sleep apart, the marriage has no intimacy, it’s gone. It wasn’t until I was in my late 20’s that they divorced, and it was my mom who asked for the divorce. My mom was the one who kept the peace in our home, she never argued. Never, she did not like to fight and avoided it at all costs, we never watched my parents argue. That all changed once my mom got a divorce. She blew up, and started speaking her mind and expressing everything that she couldn’t while they were married. My father was controlling. He never wanted her to have friends, or go out, but he could. In every crime show where a Spouse is murdered, and there is an affair by one spouse, it’s almost always the spouse having the affair who commits the murder, or the spouse angry about the affair who kills the spouse having the affair. The screen being cut, who else has a motive to stab this woman? And why? A robber, is not going to go into a house and at least take one item. Something. The robber needs to steal. Even if he kills someone, he is going to take something. Especially if he finished the killing successfully and no one heard it. He’s not going to leave through a window calmly, without leaving no trace of blood in that window and not breaking the blinds. She already knew he was chatting with a woman, they had said that she was upset, and he said he would stop and never did. The woman that he was speaking to stated that he told her that…something bad needed to happen. And her friend stated that his wife had told her that she wanted to end the marriage. She probably told him that, that night and he lost it. The quiet ones are the ones that explode in the end when they can’t get their way. The children need to sit down and think about it. Your parents sleeping apart means that they were not happy. Period. The one brother now in jail for rape? That is shocking. It’s like this family just went down a road of crime after their father went to jail. 😢. Just sad for the family. Please, just divorce your spouse if you’re not happy. It is better than killing someone’s and ruining your family forever.

My fiance of 4 years was found passed away 3 days ago at a mutual friend's home. Had I been there, I'd have been covered and smothered in absolutely every kind of fluid, DNA, what have you, trying to save him. (At this point it is suspected he overdosed). In my mind, the fact that this husband's cleanup attempts had been made and only trace/nonvisual blood was on his clothing tells me everything I need to know. It is my opinion that he is exactly where he needs to be. There isn't possible way that "blood was everywhere" and he was there next to her, checking her, looking for wounds, etc. And not have more than microscopic traces on him. He's a rotten person for even putting their children in the middle of this.

A perfect example of why nobody should ever talk to the police without a lawyer. I don't care if they say it makes you *LOOK* guilty. Who cares? If you are going to plead 'not guilty', you can not talk to the police. Their job is to use what you say against you. Why don't people understand that? Even if you are innocent, don't talk. Yup! I think if they started teaching this in school, that being your 4th and 5th amendment rights and how they affect criminal proceedings, more people would keep silent when being grilled by the cops. There's countless young adults going to prison just because they had nothing to fear since they didn't do anything and talked to the cops. Even if you did do it, nothing you say will exonerate you in the interrogation room so just save it for court. One caveat though, during a traffic stop, it's probably in your best interest to speak only about things that pertain to license, insurance and the infraction they pulled you over for. Anything out of the scope of that like "where are you heading" should be met with a polite declination. I learned my lesson when I stupidly talked myself into a ticket.
Very true, but people feel like they can clarify the confusion to avoid being charged for a crime they didnt commit. Unfortunately the police have already decided whether to arrest and charge you regardless what you say. They just hope you say something to make their case against you more evident. By the way, what law do you practice? Civil personal injury?
ESPECIALLY if you're INNOCENT. And why people take a Polygraph, I'll never understand. If you fail, they will twist everything to make you guilty. If you pass, "He got lucky". They had numerous witnesses about others, but cops never followed up. Plus, cops have less than a 120 IQ, mostly less. That's the highest you can have. The lowest is 80 or 90. So that's who's prosecuting you. They are not gonna help you. Period! And if they think you did it, they'll make you guilty, even hide evidence proving you didn't.
Reasonable doubt??? Lately you have to prove your innocence. There is ton on reasonable doubt in this case, I don't know if he did it, I will lean to not guilty, but anyone who said there isn't any reasonable doubt is full of shit.

I I’ve seen family stand behind killers before with full evidence.I agree the evidence isn’t great but his interview is completely bizarre and not similar to any interview I’ve seen him of someone who is innocent . I’ve looked over this case before and it doesn’t make me believe he didn’t do it , just that the evidence is lacking

The family are emotionally invested they are the worst people to analyse what actually happened. We know she was murdered. That's an absolute fact. You have a plausible suspect in the form of Mark - without another plausible suspect or version of events it becomes entirely reasonable to assume Mark did it.

I listened to this without watching the screen and that phrase never popped into my head. Only after reading the captions did I realize this it was a supposed confession. If you believe that someone would call 911 and immediately accidentally confess to murder, it's a pretty good indication that you have an unshakable confirmation bias and nothing can convince you otherwise aside from video showing an intruder entering the home. It's beyond ridiculous to believe that someone would "slip up" and confess to murder the moment they call 911.

I am a true true crime fam BUT I can not and will not watch ones about children being abused and murdered. I can't handle hearing those horrific details. Yes it's nice to know those perverted bastards eventually get what some form of punishment (no where near enough in my opinion) but the majority of the time they've had countless convictions beforehand and received a slap on the wrist. Most perpetrators don't go from doing nothing to then kidnapping, horrific abuse and in some cases murder. They start out small and get more confident each time they get away with it. The court system should hand down the harshest sentence possible the 1st time they get caught. Ruining a child's life deserves severe punishment not a slap on the wrist. Then they won't be out walking the streets to abuse more children. 99.9% of the time horrific cases of child abuse and murder could have been prevented if they had been in prison where they belong for their previous convictions. Anyway sorry for the rant lol it makes me so angry please no child abuse videos. Hearing what these poor innocent kids endured is heart wrenching
IMO there isnt any real evidence against him. It boils down to him mis-speaking and people just feeling like he did it, which definitely doesn't qualify as "beyond a reasonable doubt"
@@yourbuddyeric908 is there evidence he cleaned his shirt? Had the shirt been tested? In tests you can see whether the blood is splattered or smeared which would hint at how it got on there. If the shirt isn't tested, what evidence is there?
The clothes were red and black, also, you cant clean off blood under those circumstances and even a dumbass like him would know that the cops would still know it was there even if he somehow managed to wash it away. There was 0 conclusive evidence against him. He was railroaded and i suspect the juries were tainted, because there was a freaking ton of reasonable doubt. Poor guy
