The topic is to Discover Islam. Brother Nouman is doing his best. I believe he knows what he is doing so please refrain from commenting about mixed gender here. Too early for these new comers who are already interested in learning something new.
And if you don't open your heart up to the Quran, you will be kicked out of your home and land, enslaved, mutilated, murdered and/or (if you're a Christian or Jew) forced to pay a ransom tax (Jizya) to buy yourself the great privilege (as they would have you believe) of being humiliated daily as a "second-class" citizen for which Muslims are free to publicly torment you and treat you as inferior to Muslims in all matters of life and law. All this, of course, so that one day, after more humiliation, dehumanization, abuse and life under apartheid, than one can endure, you will eventually break and “open your heart” or “choose” to submit to Islam and accept it as the superior religion and it’s “utopian” ideology. Islamic Sharia law , by it’s very nature, is a form a apartheid against non-Muslims, women etc that cannot be whitewashed or excused. You are free to believe what you want, but at least acknowledge the fact that Islamic law is inherently an apartheid system that has a separate code of law and inferior legal status for non-Muslims and women that is bigoted, misogynistic and unequal at it’s fundamental core. In other words, if you don’t open your heart to the Quran, It will rip your heart out from your chest and open it for you, figuratively and literally.
Sallam ibn Mishkam are you taking any medication for your verbal diarrhea? Didn't Jesus say in Luke 19/27 bring those who don't believe in me and slaughter them ? Are you aware of the charter of privilege given to saint Catharine monastery in the Sinai desert by the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) promising protection and the absolute freedom to practice their faith ?
Ya Nouman, Thank you for your effort in teaching and your insightful speeches about the Qur’an. I hope it is possible for you to carry a small audio and recording device for consistency in audio quality. When you rely on your hosts sound system at times it is hard to follow the khutba and many of us would not like to miss any of your beautiful khutbas brother. Thank you though, I and many others really appreciate what you are doing. Jazakallah
My favorite is when you explain the "killing the disbelievers verse to someone" and then they're like, "that's total bs" What? xD so now you have the authority over every scholar who's been studying and living this religion for the past 1400 years? lol
+MeinLebenmitVideos88 Okay, I find myself in agreement with you that the Quran is a “history” book. This opens up another can of worms. In view of contradictions relating to science and beliefs one is tempted to ask how much of the history found in the Quran can be attributed to Allah or is simply of man’s origin and can be categorized as true? Likewise, it is being claimed that every word in the Jewish/Christian Old Testament represents the word of God. As you know many passages in the Quran are relating to the Old Testament with references to Noah, Moses, Pharaoh and more. I do not consider that every word in religious scriptures has been inspired by God, but are simply man-made inventions. For instance obscene language as can be found in the Old Testament, in the book of Ezekiel, chapter 4, verse 12-13: “And thou shalt eat it as barley cakes, and thou shalt bake it from dung that cometh out of man, in their sight. And the Lord said, Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their defiled bread…” In the Quran one finds passages threatening unbelievers with disgusting, unimaginable sadistic torture by a supposedly all merciful and gracious God. Chapter 22:20: “As for those who disbelieve, garments of fire will be cut for them; and boiling water will be poured on their head.”
Dear samiha, I am not sure if your message is directed to me or not. Anyway, I don't see how anyone who realizes a message to be true would reject it. If someone told me that a certain message is true then this implies the possibility of rejection by the receiving person. God bless
Nauman Khan. We are living in the age of Science and Technology. No one can mislead us. Mullahs had been telling us about Adam as the first human being on the Earth who according to the Bible appeared six thousand years ago. But Pharaoh and his people were there much before Adam like ten thousand years ago. Is God telling lies?
No. That is the bible writers telling you lies. Bibles (for there are many) are not the true word of God. Misquoting Jesus. Even the story about the stoning of the prostitute is a lie . ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pfheSAcCsrE.html
So Ali starts by saying the order and placement of the Koran verses are out of order and he couldnt understand it when he read it. He never overcomes comment exept to say in arabic it sounds poetic why? Is it jumbled up to sound poetic but that makes it hard to understand.
I may be wrong but I don’t believe any of the Quran has been abrogated. Let’s take the intoxicants example. First it said don’t come to prayer while you are drunk. Then is said don’t take intoxicants altogether. Which people say abrogated the first ruling. I say the first ruling still stands as you might after getting drunk feel guilty about what you did and decide to pray for forgiveness or even be crazy enough to go to the mosque and disrupt the prayers there. Which has been taken care of, with the first ruling so even if you do the haram and get drunk stay away from prayer until you are sober. Which you never know you might not want to ask for forgiveness then, as you are back to your normal self
Peace be with you! Nouman is not in a Muslim country. With this being said, he has to obey the instruction in the Quran and to convey the message (36:17). Also, the prophet instructed us to teach the people even if it is only one verse. Some people dont always see practicing muslims so by having this class they can learn the truth about islam. I do see your point, but if this is at the islamic center it can be structured so that interaction between the sexes is controlled.
shut up! nouman Ali khan don't seem to have a problem else he would of stated " NO CHILDREN" he's child friendly(being a baba himself) and knows woman & children should learn besides u stuck up idiots thinking ur the only one who has the rite to learn. Get a grip.. Allahu A'lam. Astaghfirullah
the children are well behaved.. please don't refer to them as "little brats" ..It is reported when Prophet Muhammed (salallaahu'alaihi wasalim) used to pray sometimes when he went to sajdah he would lengthen it because little children climbed his back and he allowed them to safely come off.. He (salallaahu'alaihi wasalim) never forbade children in the masjid.. Today unfortunately people and imams get angry with little children in masaajids.. If only we behaved as the Prophet (salallaahu'alaihi wasalim) did and emulated his merciful ways.. ..then perhaps the masaajids would have been completely full from fajr to Ishaa prayer.. due to people brought up upon mercy and love.. and love for the masaajids.. ingrained in their innocent hearts since their childhood..
9:5 Slay the idolaters wherever you find them. 9:6 Those who submit and convert to Islam will be treated well. (Those who don't submit will be killed. See previous verse.) 9:7-9 Don't make treaties with non-Muslims. They are all evildoers and should not be trusted. 9:11 Treat converts to Islam well, but kill those who refuse to convert (see 9:5). 9:12-14 Fight the disbelievers! Allah is on your side; he will give you victory. 9:23 Don't make friends with your disbelieving family members. Those who do so are wrong-doers. 9:29 Fight against Christians and Jews "until they pay the tribute readily, being brought low." 9:33 The "Religion of Truth" (Islam) must prevail, by force if necessary, over all other religions. 9:41 Fight for Allah with your wealth and whatever weapons are available to you. 9:42 Those who refuse to fight for Allah (claiming they are unable) are liars who have destroyed their souls. 9:73 Fight the disbelievers and hypocrites. Be harsh with them. They are all going to hell anyway. 9:81-83 Those who refuse to give their wealth and lives to Allah will face the fire of hell. 9:85 Those who refuse to fight for Allah will be treated (along with their children) as unbelievers. 9:111 Believers must fight for Allah. They must kill and be killed. Allah will reward them for it. 9:123 Fight disbelievers who are near you, and let them see the harshness in you. The religion of peace, Yeah right!?
dear brother, please cite the entire verse instead of cutting them into pieces so you wouldn't alter the full message and context from the beginning of the chapter 9. peace be upon you :)
classic illiterate - trying to take things out of context conveniently to satisfy his ego! where is verse 1 to 4? not only that, the deceitful translation is also of islamophobe!!!!! 1: [This is a declaration of] disassociation, from Allah and His Messenger, to those with whom you had made a treaty among the polytheists. 2: So travel freely, [O disbelievers], throughout the land [during] four months but know that you cannot cause failure to Allah and that Allah will disgrace the disbelievers. 3: And [it is] an announcement from Allah and His Messenger to the people on the day of the greater pilgrimage that Allah is disassociated from the disbelievers, and [so is] His Messenger. So if you repent, that is best for you; but if you turn away - then know that you will not cause failure to Allah . And give tidings to those who disbelieve of a painful punishment. 4: Excepted are those with whom you made a treaty among the polytheists and then they have not been deficient toward you in anything or supported anyone against you; so complete for them their treaty until their term [has ended]. Indeed, Allah loves the righteous [who fear Him]. 5: And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. 6: And if any one of the polytheists seeks your protection, then grant him protection so that he may hear the words of Allah . Then deliver him to his place of safety. That is because they are a people who do not know. 7: How can there be for the polytheists a treaty in the sight of Allah and with His Messenger, except for those with whom you made a treaty at al-Masjid al-Haram? So as long as they are upright toward you, be upright toward them. Indeed, Allah loves the righteous [who fear Him]. 8: How [can there be a treaty] while, if they gain dominance over you, they do not observe concerning you any pact of kinship or covenant of protection? They satisfy you with their mouths, but their hearts refuse [compliance], and most of them are defiantly disobedient. 9: They have exchanged the signs of Allah for a small price and averted [people] from His way. Indeed, it was evil that they were doing. 10: They do not observe toward a believer any pact of kinship or covenant of protection. And it is they who are the transgressors. 11: But if they repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, then they are your brothers in religion; and We detail the verses for a people who know. 12: And if they break their oaths after their treaty and defame your religion, then fight the leaders of disbelief, for indeed, there are no oaths [sacred] to them; [fight them that] they might cease. I think 1st 12 are enough to defy your cut and paste!!!!
LightUpon Light Is it "atom weight of issue". Now read the following: Casting Evil glances is clearly forbidden by the (نص قطعی) clear and explicit text of the Qur’aan. Allah Ta’ala says: قل للمومنین یغضوا من ابصارھم “O Nabi (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) Tell the believing men to lower their gazes.” (Sura Nur ; Ayat 30, Juz 18)
LightUpon Light The one who casts evil glances is cursed by Nabi ﷺ. Nabi ﷺ says in a Hadith mentioned in Mishkaat Shareef: لعن اللہ الناظر والمنظور الیھ “May the curse of Allah be upon the one who casts evil glances and upon the one who presents him/herself to be looked at.” (Mishkaat; Pg. 270)
LightUpon Light If casting evil glances was a minor sin, then Nabi ﷺ, being a mercy to mankind would not have cursed its perpetrator. The curse of Nabi ﷺ is clear proof that this is a very despicable crime. The meaning of curse is to become distant from the mercy of Allah. Imam Raghib Isfahani mentions in Mufradaatul Qur’aan that the definition of لعنة (curse) is: البعد عن الرحمة “To become distant from mercy.”
LightUpon Light Thus, he who has become distant from the mercy of Allah Ta’ala, cannot gain salvation from the evils of his Nafs. Only he who is under the shade of Allah’s mercy can attain salvation from the evils of the Nafs. Allah Ta’ala says: ان النفس لامارة بالسوء The Nafs abundantly commands evil.” (Sura Yousuf; Ayat 53, Juz 13)
LightUpon Light Now ponder and think that is this an atom of issue. There are other great scholars of quran who do more work than nouman ali khan without addressing to mixed gender. He should arrange seperate room for them, like Dr israr used to do.
+Imran Khan May Allah guide you...for you not know what you say! Do you have proof that Mohammed made up the quran? Can you point to a specific part of the quran which is wrong?
You have a great way of explaining Islam and what I appreciate equally is that you do it without shouting, like many others do for some reason. Thank you!
Mashaallah Brother Nouman Ali Khan is amazing and so active in the community. Im still in my teens so I could Insha'Allah keep up and catch up with him and do the same (and more inshaallah). I wish for everyone else who is determined the same thing Ameen.
+журналист what are you talking about learn more before you even say a word and make your own research. Slavery, rape are not allowed in islam and how can you even say something like that when you absolutely don't know nothing about islam. Learn
www.thereligionofpeace.com/pages/quran/slavery.aspx Slavery (including sex slavery) is 100% permissible under Sharia law, and you know it, taqiyya liar. This includes sex slavery (rape) which Muhammad himself happily and frequently engaged in.
Tom Jones If thats what youre claiming, read the Quran and see what allah says about this .and please stop commenting these kind of things,if you dont like islm, why did you comment too much?Go on,live your life,we're living ours.
As salaamu alaikum. How do you think unbelievers were taught at one point? The onus is on Bro. Khan to lower his gaze, and so long as he is modest, where is the harm? If you said this isn't Science lecture , then it seems you are okay with this setting on a secular level. No disrespect, but giving you another perspective. Peace be with you
Men are the protectors and maintainers of women because Allah has made one superior to the other and because they spend to support them from their means. Therefore, righteous women are obedient and they guard in the husband’s absence what Allah orders them to guard. And, as to those women from whom you fear disobedience, give them a warning, send them to separate beds, and beat them.” explain this one in context please.
Islam was never taught in this format..to non mahram women via men in open..this is quraan..not some science lecture.. For quraan to have effect..the aadaabs abd etiquites must be adhered to..may allah give us taufeeq
how do you all muslim who claim to be peaceful explain the part that says ''throw fire into the unbelievers...melt their skin'' part of the Quaran(atheist here)
nafis nafikos where is it said that , it's not muslims who suppose to do that is ALLAH hereafter will throw the unbelievers to the hellfire not only islam said that all the religions say it but what's funny u talked about melting the skin but if you continue to read the verse ALLAH said that he will replace the melting skin by another every time it melt so he's telling us that the skin is responsible of the feeling of pain isn't that amazing how mohamed (pbuh) knows that if it wasn't a revelation from the creator
ALLAH DESPISES JEWS AND CHRISTIANS “O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for friends. They are friends one to another. And whoso among you take them for friends is indeed one of them. Verily, Allah guides not the unjust people.” (Chapter 5:52)
+Kurt Ortmann Reading this verse out of context is foolish. To understand the quran you have to learn the reason/cause event that the verse responded to at the time of its revelation. If you just read it and argue that Allah despises the jews and christians than what will you say to Quran (verse 9:5) "Kill the disbelievers wherever you find them", will you say that Allah is unjust and violent? So, please read the quran in context, thats why muslims read the quran translations of scholars that explain in detail the meaning and context of the verse as it was revealed. And to show that your understanding of the verse is faulty, I would like to share this "Those who believe (in the Qur'an), those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Sabians and the Christians,- any who believe in God and the Last Day, and work righteousness,- on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve." Quran. 5:69 What would you now say about Allah and the Jews and the Christians? That He now changed and loves them?
Dear +Said Almasi , Good observation. However, I can not accept this "out of context" excuse. The verse stands by itself and has little to do with context. Same applies to chapter 9 verse 5 which is actually in context with the verse preceding and following it while mainly dealing with idolaters. And how about chapter 4 verse 90 telling Muslims to kill unbeliever wherever you find them unless the submit to Allah? Does all of this sound like the Muslim God is unjust and violent? It sure does. The Quran is not a history book nor a novel but must be taken at face value as it was allegedly handed down to Muhammad. I fully understand the predicament Muslim scholars are confronted with and of course they had to find ways to "interpret" particular verses in certain ways to make them more acceptable to the human mind. But once we start interpreting this or that statement by saying: "well this is really not what it means" or "it refers to conditions during the time of Muhammad" then we are moving away from the original which comes first.
+Kurt Ortmann There are people who spend their entire lives studying the Quran, which instances was the trigger for the revelation of each verse and how each verse was interpreted and how this interpretation was understood by the early Muslims. If these studies are irrelevant to you and you insist on "each verse standing on its own" then I will be forced to ask, are you a scholar of the Quran? Which school of Tafsir do you subscribe to? Are you really reading the Quran to find the truth of Allah or to find fault? But for purposes of this discussion, I would like to refer you back to Quran. 5:69 which I quoted in my above comment. Why did you ignore it? If these two and other verses stand on their own, why did you present only the one that may feed your negative argument? Why did you not consider the one talking about Jews and Christians following the scriptures and having no fear? And if you were a reader of the Quran you would also have read 2:193 which clearly says..And if they (The disbelievers) ) desist (from fighting you) then there should be no transgression (against them), except against a people who are oppressors. And other verse...And if any of the Disbelievers seeks refuge from you, then grant him refuge so that he can hear the Word of Allah, then escort him to a place where he is secure. refer the discussion in (www.askmufti.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=585:verses-of-the-quran-ordering-killing&catid=30:answering-objections-against-islam&Itemid=30) As for 9:5 or other battle/war verses they should be taken in the context of war. When people go to war the kill their enemies that is war! So muslims are urged by Allah to fight to kill as they are being killed. Read Quran (2:191-193) - "And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah [disbelief or unrest] is worse than killing...but if they desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah [disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allah] and worship is for Allah alone. But if they cease, let there be no transgression except against Az-Zalimun(the polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.)" refer the discussion in (answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080315121456AAbaBj0) As said earlier, the Quran is a book of legislation and guidance that was revealed bit by bit as the circumstances demanded. Hence it should be taken in that consideration. There were times of distress and fear, there were times of war and times of peace...times of weakness and times of strength...each verse was revealed in this contexts. So if you are at war, fight your enemies and dont turn your back..if you are not in war, be peaceful and dont spread corruption in the land! Thats the reality of life! Furthermore Christians and Jews lived under the Islamic Khalifate peacefuly and without harassment. About paying jizyah, this is tax everyone pays, muslims pay zakat which is compulsory on them, but non-muslim are not obligated to pay zakat so they are required to pay jizya. But lets also look at the god of the bible is he violent? (1)They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.  (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB). (2)A whole town should be killed if one person believes other the god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT) (3)Kill women who are not virgins on their wedding night(Deuteronomy  22:20-21 NAB)
+Said Almasi , Thanks for your reply. Rejoice! I am not a learned Islamic scholar. To understand from where I am coming from the following comparison may be helpful. Look at me as an alien being visiting planet earth investigating various religious beliefs. This means I have not been influenced be any kind of religious doctrines designed to interpret certain original texts in a way that makes them acceptable to human minds. This enables me to see things more objectively. What I have found over time is that people tend to believe a "fact" which fits their views even if it's clearly false. For instance, if Christians believe that Jesus was God then this is unacceptable to me because God has always been and never dies on a cross. For instance, if in the Old Testament we find that the Lord God ordered Israelis to bake barley cakes with dried human dung (Ezekiel 4:11-13), then this is not acceptable because this verse is clearly a human invention and not God's words. For instance, if the Quran claims that Allah created earth in two days while it took him for days for placing mountains therein so is this unacceptable to me and to be looked at utter nonsense. (Chapter 41:10-11) For instance, if in the Quran I find, that there should be no compulsion in religion (Chapter 2:257) whereas Chapter 22:20 declares that "For those who disbelieve, garments of Fire will be cut for them, and boiling water will be poured down on their heads", then this to me as a clear contradiction. If this is not a compulsion then I don't know what is. I really don't like to write long posts. My best.
