Great lecture! Im at 20 minutes. Looking forward the second part. Funny thing though. The shayk is against kalam theology (he is for quran and sunnah only) yet implicitly uses contingency and design argument which is kalam! The 200 genes minimum exampls means that it is a contingent, dependent thing, therefore some external explaination is needed to explain why 200 and not 150 for example. The examples of the perfect balans of the body and universe is called design argument/ fine tuning argument. Example created from nothing is also called creation ex nihilo, from nothing nothing comes. Otherwise it will violate the law of non contradiction. Problem with showing the creator Al Ghalic from the Quran is that the hard skeptic will object and say who created the creater? Therefore we need the Quran to show that Allah is As-Sammad, and needs nothing and by his free divine Will, brings creation into being. Same conclusion would be reached if you would argue for an necessary being and then show the divine origins of the Quran. InshaAllah my comment is benifical.
