Wow, what happened to TROG? … fendered hot rods, newer OHVs, newer bodied cars … at least the bikes seem to still meet the original intent of the meet.
A lot of participants have mixed feelings about this event, its promoter, and especially the staff. They were abrasive to the Racers whom without them, there wouldn't be an event. Redundant in their demands, rude in the way they spoke to many attendee's, and were hypocrites with their own rules! Speeding up and down the Pit area, Drag Strip, and grass in their personal motorcycles/cars left several people unsurprised when the promoter and one of his staff members ran in to each other. I understand that the promoter broke a couple of ribs. Also, their strict rules didn't seem to apply to them. Excessive alcohol consumption, being unsafe, allowing 1950s cars to Race, bringing in their own food and beverages were ok. I'm sure the event was entertaining to spectators, but it definitely left many Racers and Car Show folks frustrated.
