The Radical War, Greenock
The Radical War monument sits on Bank Street in Greenock, where much of this tragedy unfolded.
We learn of the events that led to the tragedy, the details of that fateful day, and aftermath of the insurgence.

Great video. A marker to Baird and Hardie and a plaque commemorating them are in Stirling, where they were executed. A real injustice. Thanks for this.

Thank you, Julie and Martin. I'm a U.S. citizen with Scottish ancestry and lived in St Andrew's and Edinburgh for a few years in the 1970s. Also a left radical. I hadn't known about this either. You're doing important work.

Thank you for sharing, I'd heard of Peterloo but not the Radical War. It's important to make sure the past isn't forgotten.

I'm quite determined to make sure it isn't. Tbf, we don't seem to be learning from any of the historical blunders.....🙄

How much Scottish history did you get, though? I know in Northern Ireland we were subjected to Henry 8th and the War of the Roses 🙄

Thank you! It's not all castles and brochs..... I love the variety in the history. One day I'm clambering over a 3000 year old burial cairn, the next, exploring a victorian canal!!!
