As much as I get this, I've never liked this as an argument in favor of a vehicle. It feels like they're selling you a way to make the grinding go faster instead of just improving business design as a whole, kind of like how they use auto-aim instead of fine-tuning actual sensitivity and gunplay like every other shooter

I find it funny that GTA has essentially become a warzone simulator that anything new that comes it is immediately the top of the game and eventually will be either nerfed or topped by something else, I would really like to see a game that is basically like GTA online mixed with battlefield, just unrivaled chaos 24/7
This guy is definitely the RU-vidr of all time. From this video and the toreador video I’m at an absolute loss. I haven’t seen more time spent and love put into videos more than these. The jokes, the tips and tricks, just the video overall is outstanding and cannot praise you enough. I honestly cant complain, I like it because its extremely useful for getting around unseen and doing missions in public lobbies. The slower fire rate means I cant be blown up nearly as quickly or at all when in a vehicle or anything armored enough to take explosives. and its LOUD AF when it gets close, so even if some pos griefer is in stealth they're heard well before they show up. Id defo prefer this over oppressors any day.
no offense but unless the raiju pilot has room temperature iq you should lose that engagement 9/10 times even if it didnt have invunerability. i think if they removed that the jet would be fine. but with the complaining itll be nerfed into the ground to a point itll just be another hydra at best. which that jet sucks even before the nerf@@aking1591
@@DigitalPand3mic That's not the point. I own a hangar with all the best dogfighters in yet if I use anything but the stealth jet I'm putting myself at an disadvantage. Yes the pyro and starling are still very useable, you CANNOT kill the new jet with them. Now many players own lots of 'useless' aircraft that in a normal GTA session get beat most times. Its like the gunrunning vehicles all over again. They just keep making the new vehicles overpowered and therefore older vehicles are useless. This new jet is fun, but it should be a low tier dogfighter with its off the radar abilities.
@@epicmx5 Yes you can with missiles. Yes the new jet is tanky, but it has no counter measures and its no where near the same agility of the starling and pyro. The new jet is fine as it is, I've seen it taken down with almost every other jet.
One thing I am enjoying is parking the Kosatka in the Merryweather base and firing the missiles out the roof. The weaker cannons now mean that the annoying jet users cannot kill you before you nuke them out the sky, and the base gives you so much cover that the Raiju has to stop entirely to land any hits.
The fact things like this ^ are even a strategy just plays into the point that the Raiju doesn’t actually make that big of a difference because people have been driving around god vans and abusing subs with yacht defenses for years. Quit crying because they gave the pilots a vehicle that’s fun
I just use E rounds. Im not a big pvp fan I lost interest but everytime a raiju does a drive by I just blast them out of the sky because 9 times out of 10 raiju pilots suck. Because they havent really learned anything and just take the best plane and think that makes them good.
Thank you for this extremely high quality video, this channel should be and likely will be much bigger than it is. I stopped playing gta online a while ago due to burnout from getting just about everything I wanted, but coming back to see rockstar adding more bs is quite fitting.
As much as I agree, I think the rauji is still an incredibly fun and useful aircraft to use. It is a good vehicle. Just a poorly balanced one, as with a lot of the other vehicles in this game. I like to use what I find satisfying and to me, that's the Raiju and the Nokota
Yeah I totally agree. Its probably one of if not the most fun plane in the game. Its so good but at the same time so annoying. It really isnt fighting against it its just having to deal with them when they do a drive by in stealth mode when you are trying to chill with your ultralight. You can basically just blast it out of the sky with explosive ammo which isnt that hard

The people who fly this probably don’t have the brain cells to master it anyway. Even if people do use the “no gas” speed control (which isn’t actually optimal) it doesn’t matter because there’s more to dogfighting than turn rate. Angles, offset, aspect yada yada. At the end of the day there’s now even more pilots to bully with off-meta aircraft. Quality video as always mate ✌️
@@YuFow That's great, but sad truth is a good vast majority of people see it as "oooo fastest plane", has VTOL so its easy to land anywhere, and stealth on demand so depressors don't fuck with you while you do your own business. The explosive weaponry is an extra cherry on top, and that there's a learning curve to using planes effectively is not just unknown but alien tech they won't ever worry about. lol
even tho its invulnerable to MG's i still ike to tail them with a seabreeze until they rage or crash :) i swear if the seabreeze had explosive ammo it would be cracked at dogfighting
Thank you, you have no idea how mad I was when it got released. The worst part is that 90% of the player base is car guys who don't understand that this plane ruins airplane dogfighting as a whole, and just see it as a great griefing tool. Which basically means, we're permanently screwed as not enough of the community cares, and Rockstar won't either. At least some things get fixed after years of begging from the entire community, but here we don't even have the community. I only see this issue being resolved by permanently removing the plane. As @davejack3763 said, the only thing they didn't give it, is spam missiles. It's overpowered beyond fixing. At the very least, if the Ford F-160 Raiju (awesome nickname by the way, mine was "Raipoo") pilot you're going against is completely braindead, you have a pretty good chance of cockpit sniping with a Pyro or maybe Starling. I've also found success with the Hunter. Also Cuckler, I really love your videos, keep the awesome work up. But at the end of the day, all us skilled pilots will power through it as you said. Since you used John Wick references in this video, allow me to quote the latest movie, "Happy Hunting" everyone! ;)
Yeah the community is bar far the most frustrating part. The majority definitely seem to have their wits about them, but the amount of people who don't understand that A. Something that works against griefers is often just as(if not more) potent in the hands of said"griefers" and B. When I complain it's because I know the game can be better, not just for me but for them too. They never experienced PvP in 2018-2020, and how much more fun and varied it used to be. It's a grind, but this video was a huge step.
You are for sure not a skilled pilot. If you think that jet is way to OP you are a dogshit pilot no doubt. You have skill issue if you fr can not take down the raiju. Hella easy jet to dogfight with almost literally any jet. Off the radar literally does nothing either Loud as shit and can't miss in the sky.
Not gone line this plane did bring out my ace combat boss level flying skills. I remember I dominated a whole lobby for 2 hours out of boredom shooting anything that flies.
I'm a Lazer/Hydra main and I've never been taken down by a Raiju before in actual combat, they are really easy to spot at night because of their flashing wing lights and nobody can actually use its capabilities to their advantage so they lose in a dogfight every single time lol
I have been a hydra pilot since the game came out, I'm no griefer but I definitely defend those who are grinding in the lobby usually I'll see a Jet icon on the map and go towards it when it starts killing players who are actually just trying to grind down there and then I find this new raiju flying around, I thought okay this must be some new fighter jet no big deal I'll take care of it like I usually do and figured out my hydra wasn't as powerful as it used to be and realized that I was easy kill for the Raiju. Doesn't scares you more than seeing a fighter jet disappear from your radar map and then you're slow hydra is trying to figure out where it might have gone just wanted to pop up for a split second and wipe you off the face of the map. I'm either going to have to learn how to use that hydra little bit better or save up cash for that raiju. I miss the old days of GTA.
just do a vertical climb and watch your back camera. You will see the other jet in your back and when you see it you just have to start the dogfight. If he is too close you have few moves for this ( defensiv spiral, rolling scissorcs, even stalling ..Etc ) I always do like this for every offradar jet

It's going to be a bloodbath if/when they fix the MG damage resistance. I've been a Seabreeze main, but have been using the Rogue post-update to down the people in Raijus who think they're top dogs. It was fun to fly the Raiju when it first came out, but it just felt unfair, you know? So much more fun to be had in the off-meta stuff
I discovered your videos today and am now binging them. Im a pilot irl and just got back into gta. I am just getting into fighter games (DCS, War Thunder) and you have made me realise that I can learn to do all the cool fighting in GTA. Keep up the good work

Weak cannons, too fast for have a "competitiv" turn radius. HArder for handle a ground attack because it s faster and more sensitive. ..etc etc . Not all players are able to kill effectively ground targets with a raiju. And in the sky, it s not at all the top 1. I kill raiju everydays using a seabreeze, a starling or anything weaponized with wings. (edit : but for stunting, it s a great jet )

I am new to the game. I have been wanting to dogfight for awhile and finally started getting the money for a hanger and first plane. Looking at all of the options I ended up between the Lazer or the Raiju since they are around the same price. After watching this I may buy the Lazer now instead of the Raiju, Its cheaper and seems to have more of a learning curve then the other. I want to outplay others not be carried by the aircraft I choose.
Or get the rogue. It has bombs Missiles (which are trash but oh well) and explo miniguns. The rogue easily bodies most of the aircraft even the raiju. The only vehicles which you shouldn't dogfight against are the Lazer, B11, Pyro and Starling. If you have a decent Raiju pilot it may get hard to kill them but you still have a higher chance with the rogue than in an raiju. The rogue is smaller easier to master and the bombs are OP if you have mastered them. Plus it's way way cheaper. So my choice would definitely be the rogue. But at the end of the day it's your choice
you do you, even if I angry man say it bad, don't let me define you. It's fun to fly, and if its useful for grinding, make the most of it. Making money legitimately is always a cheat to Rockstar anyway ;)
I haven’t been into GTA online dogfighting since RDR2 came out. Also the dollar store astrosoup thing was funny the editing style is very reminiscent of him. Anyways good in depth video, subscribed.
I don't fly planes, been playing GTA since launch on the Xbox 360, and dogfighting has never really been interesting to me. Sure, it looks interesting & mad respect to all of those who still do. But as a ground player, the thing is an annoyance to me. It's hit and run ability puts me at such a disadvantage to where I can't get a shot off or even deter the pilot. Since the F35 is immune to all bullet damage the only liable counter is E-Rounds or Railgun, but its fast acceleration & OTR make it nearly impossible to target. Hopefully, Rockstar will tweak it bit, for the sake of overall balance, but great video. Keep up the good work & you're gonna make it big someday. Don't give up.

this guy has to be the best pilot ive seen. i want to become good at flying just struggling from time to time getting some of the stuff down. really hope one day he puts out a video showing some flying tips that would be cool.
Nobody can actually fly it right except for pilot nerds whereas your random freemode player had a much easier time flying and killing with pre nerf lazers. Rogue has become my favorite aircraft since the update. High killcount on raijus so far.
I disagree about the armored cars and imani tech jammer playstyle, I honestly just think its a very good deterrent for even the most determined griefers. With the addition of so many though it kinda feels like i have to be in an electric jammer car in public sessions now. Long gone are the days of having to use problem solving and creative thinking to fight on this game lol
I don't think they're bad vehicles on their own, but to be able to sticky spam or step out and railgun/e round from the safety of decent armor and no-lock ability definitely makes other vehicles less worthwhile to use. Plus Rockstar is basically selling you the ability to have normal cars that can't be griefed easily for a premium. Why not give all non-weaponized cars the no-lock upgrade right?

Hating on the Raiju and the MKII is like hating the campers in shooter and battle royale games you just hate it bc its so powerful and effective like real life the F35 and the sokhoi is the most powerful jets on earth and camping is the best strategy for any soldier on the battlefield, so i will buy it bc it is annoying to others
Alot of the players that have tried to kill me with the riju, always end up missing every shot or just resort to missles. I can usually out maneuver them with the v65 and just cause them to crash.
Well.. i do fly the Raiju around quite a bit, I love the jet.. but I am generally flying around stalking and shadowing players.. I'll attack griefers and bounties.. occasionally ill offer to let a low lvl fly it.. Its such a great jet for trolling griefers and tryhards lol.. hit and run off radar, and stalking off radar makes them rage..
Personally I was already sceptical about stealth aircraft when the Akula was released (The Ultralight being the exception for obvious reasons). Imho, stealth aircraft have no place in the game what-so-ever. Of course ghost organisation's always gonna be a thing, but at least it's temporary. When the Raiju was first teased, I was hoping to god that it would have an archetype akin to, like idk, an actual aircraft? In that it's got high speed, but incredibly poor manoeuvrability, with a unique aspect of having missiles with a lifespan similar to the Lazer's missiles, but with a lockon range similar to the Chernobog. Wishful thinking now that I look back on it.
I was hoping for very much the same thing, but after the toreador(ironic since I made a vid praising it, but after reflection it's the raiju for missile cars) it was sadly more predictable
@@Cuckler The only reason a Raiju for missile cars can be praised is because things like the MK II Oppressor exist. With that context, not as much fault can be pointed at that perspective; all hindsight in the world be damned.
The Raiju also left me with a bitter taste in my mouth since the release of the damn thing, this jet ruined dogfighting and the aerial meta in general due to its overwhelming speed against everything, its bugged armor making it immune to regular bullets of any kind, and its stupid stealth feature (for real who in their right mind in rockstar thought putting stealth on a jet with explosive rounds was a good idea. This just shows that they don't test the stuff they make and they do not think on how the stuff they are going to release will affect the other stuff they have released in the past like the pyro or seabreeze, really any other jet. I rarely really play gta now because one of the things I loved to do in freemode was to dogfight in my pyro or in occasions my starling and now you really can not do that because everyone who is in the air is either hiding in stealth mode or in stealth mode to get cheap hit on you. Even if you do counter that and manage to not get hit by a sneak attack, depending on who you are fighting they will most likely just go back into stealth mode and not actually commence in an actual dogfight instead they just run and find another opportunity for a hit and run and since this jet is the fastest jet excluding the hydra speed glitch most of the time they successfully run away. Usually when this happens I either just leave or just mind my business because playing with those type of people is just tedious and boring. Another problem is when you actually do get into a fair dogfight with someone in a raiju and you're using a jet with regular cannons you are still at a disadvantage because of the damn raiju immunity to regular bullet fire which is also just really stupid in general because this makes like half of the planes in freemode useless. To add salt to the wound this just makes me not want the play the game anymore because I CANNOT even use my FAVORITE planes anymore for dogfighting in freemode (pyro an starling) because rockstar cannot test their shit together and actually release balanced stuff to the game and you know actually test their stuff instead of blindly releasing it later down the road and it being overpowered and killing any competition which makes the game even more bland that it is. Don't get me wrong, I am skilled enough to pull off cockpit snipes with the pyro and starling but it just isn't right if I got to rely on only that because I cannot destroy the raiju regularly due to the broken armor. Enough of the rant though, I am okay with how the jet maneveurs because it takes a skilled pilot to master the actual speed on hover ability in general. What I do find to be a problem is this jet having besiaclly infinite stealth and the armor bug for the regular MGs if rockstar were to fix the amor and maybe add a time limit and cool down to the stealth then it would remedy the problem a bit. I don't know really maybe make it so that you can have stealth on for like a minute and two and after that the game gives you a cooldown of five mins. another remedy is to add a feature when if stealthed raijus are close enough to you, the player, they will show up in your minimap giving you enough time to actually react to a attacking stealthed raiju instead of reacting last minute when they are already behind you shooting you with nonexistent explosive bullets (since you cannot see the raiju nor hear it firing at you). These are just raw thoughts so I know there will be counters to these remedies such as when your stealh is up lr you're getting closer to your target you can just go ghost then when that done use letters otr the rinse and repeat but these are just my thoughts of how to somehow remedy the stealth problem and for the armor just fix the armor rockstar, make it so that you know.... regular bullet fire actual does the right amount of damage lol. To anyone who read this all, thank you and idk reply and add on to what ill be good nerfs for this thing called the raiju.

I’m glad someone agrees with me on this, I hate metas in videogames, yes they can be unavoidable but before the Raiju you had a huge variety of good vehicles: The Akula if you wanted to be stealthy, the P-996 Lazer if you want one of the best dogfighters and the og, the Hydra if you want a VTOL fighter. Now what’s the point of using any of those vehicles when you can have all of them in one overpowered package. I don’t think they just shouldn’t add good vehicles like rockstar does, they need to balance their vehicles a lot better. Maybe give the Lazer and Hydra countermeasures and maybe barrage missiles to give you some reason to play them.
The raiju missiles on the pc version shoot out crooked, it’s the only jet to do this. I’d understand this since it nerfs its air to ground ability however it doesn’t happen on console, so idek

I absolutely love the Raiju, but as a fellow pilot, I do agree it is a bit strong. Give it Lazer armor and make it a glass cannon. The hit and run playstyle has been my go to for years anyway: I've spent so much time in my Akula my butt has fused with the seat lol
This was one of the worst updates for me lmao. Nerfing the cannons only means more ewo spammers, armored vehicle users, heist warpers and avengers(manned avenger is litteraly unkillable rn). Before the update pretty much every plane had a weakness, including the 'op' lazer and hydra. With the the Raiju they throw litteraly all of that shit out of the window. People were saying there will be more variety after this update but honestly planes as a whole rn are kinda of dead and most people fly the raiju anyway, also a lot of raiju pilots just run away the whole time and there's barely any counters to it, it's so lame lmao, a plane with stealth mode shouldn't be the fastest jet in the game, it should be something like the pyro. It's agility is also way too good if you know what you're doing lol. Most people complaining about meta's yet when this jet comes out and breaks the game they're fine with it😂😂, funny how that works.

I believe someone at Rockstar was confused with how aircraft work. This thing handles more like a starfighter than a modern jet fighter. Then again, I do like starships so I guess I kind of like how it handles. I don’t think it should have a stealth mode though
i dont think YOU understand how aircraft work, i understand and agree with talking about balancing and such, but real aircraft are absolutely nothing like the ones in game, and if you want to talk real aircraft, the raiju should be able to shoot down any aircraft anywhere on the map, because thats just the enormous range the f 35 is designed to be able to engage in, gun dogfighting was on deaths door during vietnam where missile kills beat the gun by a long shot, now traditional dogfighting is dead.
I’ve killed many Raijus with the Rogue, the Lazer, of course the Raiju itself, and even as well as the Chernobog lol. From my experience, honestly, it really depends on the skill of the pilot. I can have the most op jet in the game and still die to a B-11, depending on the flight skills I have. Raiju is absolutely beautiful, it looks so nice, and I agree that some people are really annoying with it as well. Yes, these aircrafts have weaknesses and strengths, but you also need to factor in the fact that each and every pilot also has their own strength and weaknesses. Some pilots aren’t really good at maneuvering around, some not so good at aiming, some not being able to handle huge amounts of pressure in a dogfight, others not being able to handle the offensive side, and others, the defensive side, etc. I myself would rate me a decent amount of skill, there is and will always be someone better than me; and just like these aircrafts as well, there will always be an aircraft better than the other. It truly is beautiful to have a dogfight with someone and learn and see their skill in action. It brings opportunities to find new creative ways of dogfighting.
That's not the point, if you were to take the best Lazer pilot and the best raiju pilot against each other the raiju will always inevitably win. It's a sad world we live in
@@Cuckler would not be a good idea to use a p51 mustang in either game or real life, in gta it would not be able to turn wide enough to keep up but against a noob it works well since they dont know how to dogfight well they usually just fly around and shoot missile at everything
I utterly love the Raiju, but I can not fight anyone for the life of me with it. This is my first Jet I’ve ever bought and because of this I don’t understand how most people are making it as bad as it is. I just see it as a super moveable jet that just can’t outgun a B-11. (Yes, that is very incorrect). Overall, great video, great jet, bad players using said jet.

I think the Raiju is trash, just like all the jets now. The cannon was nerfed so hard that it's basically useless. My playstyle used to be jet sniping and jet rpg'ing but since the last update they are so useless no-one uses them anymore and when they do it's incredibly easy to kill them because they can't do shi because of the poor render distance on console.. I will stick to the b11. It's slower speed makes it easier to kill ground targets and it has barrage missles. edit: amazing video btw :)
The raiju is really good it takes skill to actually use the cannons are extremely effective when u know how to use them however the missiles are meh in air and useless on ground unless Vtol
@@DXXDXXV I'm a bit late but actually uded the raiju a lot now and.. no, it does not take skill at all. All you need is good render distance (which is rare on console) and when you get that, its easier to kill people but because Rockstar had a seizure or something when making updates for this game, we now also have a railgun which destroys jets in a handful of shots. Even worse is that the raiju has so much momentum when flying down that you can't strafe properly aka you have to use the hover mode in which you're an even easier target. Conclusion: the raiju sucks and incurrages people to used glitched thermal outfits.
Love the vid man. Raiju is broken as ever right now as some of them have no audio and you vant see there cannons firing also if you kill them with machine guns on a starling or anything non explosive it just says the player died not that you killed them. But man them cockpit shots be awesome
If you have a Raiju you most likely finished the game so having a tool like that is quite fun for doing almost anything you want. I think the infamous OP MkII killed any hopes of a balanced game worth trying. I do have it, Im too lazy to bring it up, only use it to put idiots in their place (or RP level). Usually MkII morons who dont like being griefed but enjoy the hell out of griefing.
I definitely agree the Mk2 was a huge killing blow to balance, but I wouldn't say the Raiju is for a "finished game" player. You never really do finish GTA, it's more about opening up more stuff to do in freemode. Ofc, the plane damages this for other planes.
@@Cuckler Sorry! I'm obssesed with the idea of "finishing" the game. I can see the Raiju being OP even me with low flying skills can do real damage. My favorite is staying behind my cargo helpers on sells and going ultra fast after griefers. But one time I got humiliated by being destroyed with a single missile from a player just standing in the ground (granted I wasn't moving but still I felt embarrased by that kill). I end up not using it because of it spawn mechanics and because I don't do PvPs nor engage on open lobbies unless absolutely necessary (e.g. defending cargo, work for someone else or simply defend and leave). My personality on the game is to be a tough non-aggressive player. If you look for me, you'll find me, but I won't find you on my own.
Before the raiju it actually was the pilot, not the plane... after it... sorry but even the starling got outdated by it (its like putting the red baron in his ww1 biplane and setting him to fight a modern day jet... he would get smoked)
