@@dustinbasham393 no lie..a total steam roller as a drummer..I knew lots of drummers who didn't think he was any good as he played the same thing on every song..What BS..they were jealous he was so good..
@ 1:15 - I LOVE the way the camera person tilts up and down for the complete profile of Joey in his classic stance.... Magnificent creature that he was!
I'm from Rome and I know the "venue" since I was a kid. I wish I was old enough to go, but I was 7 yo or something. The thing i love most are the faces of those funny moustache and fat belly guys. They might come out from any Italian B-Movie of that time. Or they might be my dad as well!
this song bring me back going to school early morning. i can feel the same energy. my father gives me the love for Ramones and i will take this for my entire life and give to my kids.
The raw power…. I know it’s a sound check, I get it…. But the fact that not a single person moved to this song blows my mind. I would’ve been thrown out instantly for losing my mind. lol😂
What really strikes me here about Johnny’s playing, even at soundcheck he’s audibly playing downstrokes quite loosely instead of just alternate picking which would be SO much easier lol. That takes commitment
Here , they were still at their peak.......i'm a ramones fan since I was 14/15......and today i'm 56......'i hate to admit that throughout the 80s the band live got faster and faster to the point where joey coldnt keep up any longer.....especially with the arrival of cj they verged dangerously on becoming a sort of parody of themselves....... an I hate to say that......
....And fucking it up because they didn't actually played on the record. Fact! "End of the century" was abandoned by the Famines en masse after falling out with the producer Phil Spdctor, who finished it with session men....so Johnny and Dee Dee would have had to learn the song from the recird, just like me and you....
@normanite I've always thought that too. It sounds just relentless in this video recording. Same with the little bit of "I'm Affected". Just so hard, and punctual.
