Y'all cannot be more wrong about Rango not being hyped up. It is one of the most universally agreed upon greatest movies ever. You will never see Rango slander and if you do they're higher than Snoop Dogg.

@@soulstorminferno5135 Now that is a RARE statement. (Fellow Dutch here). Only other animated movie i can rightly think of that has a Dutch dub on par with, or a bit beyond the English one, is The Emperor's New Groove.

The movie was actually directed by the same guy who directed The Pirates Of The Caribbean-movies. And it also won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature

I like this because it means the director got to know Johnny as an actor for a couple movies before rango ever came out, and with hans zimmer on the sound end of things, I feel like this movie was always going to be what it is

Surprisingly weird and visually beautiful and sort of surreal. Like the other film references in it are wonderful. I loved it, but I rarely hear it talked about along with major animated movies.

I also love that fact and they have the iconic Fear and Loathing driving scene in the intro of the Rango movie where Rango ends up on the windshield of Hunter’s car. I half expect Rango and Fear & Loathing movies to be in a shared universe, called Deppverse.

The movie was about him acting like a cowboy he was a house pet that watched movies. He acted like a hard ass and eventually became one yada yada saved the town. In the beginning when he's getting thrown around they have the dudes from fear and loathing going nuts in the car he even talks about bats.

Saw the film in theaters with my mom. Got a Rio poster on the way in. I remember seeing trailers for Puss in Boots and Kung Fu Panda 2 and being hyped af lol I had this game on the Wii as a kid. I remember loving it despite it just being jumping and aiming, but I got the PS3 a few years later and loved it more.

I remember after seeing this movie and trying to talk about it to anyone, not meeting a single person who had even heard of it. Maybe it got a cult following afterwards. One of those things that make me feel old is people telling about their "childhood memories" of a movie that came out when I was 35.

Another person who has to point out that Rango is an an incredible, incredible movie. Beautiful, trippy animation and great humor. Also North Carolina is a incredibly historical state with a shitload of stuff happening. Asheville is up there with Portland and Austin. It's (NC) the home of Merge Records. It's got all the baseball, a hockey team, the Blue Ridge mountains, Scottish heritage, was the site of the first Europeans on NA.

All I have memory of is a character that right out of the gate pretended to be something he was not (for no apparent reason other than he was bored, so why not), then ending up becoming that through sheer dumb luck. It has its moments, but it's far from what I'd call "incredible." Until I saw this video I had almost forgotten it existed.

The Indiana Jones Cairo Swordsman moment WAS going to be an epic swordfight between the guy and Indy but when they were shooting the scene Harrison Ford was so sick that he just ask "Can I just shoot the guy instead?" and they altered the scene.
