Everyone knows the rapture is in the Bible. Or, is it? Despite it being popularized and commercialized by Christian books, movies and even Hollywood, Skye Jethani makes the case that the Rapture is not actually in the Bible - no, not even in Revelation!
He looks at the passages often used to support the Rapture, Matthew 24 and 1 Thessalonians 4, and unpacks what they actually reveal about Christ’s return and why it's time for the Rapture to be left behind.

"CAUGHT UP"...... Means ???..... "In The Air" Means ???...... > The Greek word from this term “rapture” is derived appears in 1 Thessalonians 4:17, translated “caught up.” The Latin translation of this verse used the word rapturo. The Greek word it translates is harpazo, which means to snatch or take away.

but it did not say explicitly that they will be hidden in heaven.. it says that God will keep them from the hour of trial.. there are countless stories in the Bible that during great tribulations that believers were kept by God.. the story of Israel and Egypt, where the Israelites was kept protected in Goshen till the 10 plagues was done. or Elijah the prophet was kept hidden and protected by God during the 3 years drought.

Revelation 3:10 - is actually: ὅτι ἐτήρησας λόγον ὑπομονῆς τηρήσω ὥρας πειρασμοῦ μελλούσης ἔρχεσθαι ὅλης οἰκουμένης πειράσαι τὸν κατοικοῦντας γῆς It literally means -- "that to watch over/guard a word a remaining behind to watch over/guard a time an experiment to be about to to come/to go complete the inhabited earth to make proof of the to inhabit earth/land" All the other [fluff] was added by translators. Yes, The Bible is very "cave man" with it's writing, but we are not to change it (we already did - we added chapters and verses - none of _either_ was ever in the original writing - it was meant as a "run-on novel", so readers would read the whole thing - and get the context) - yet we massively have. that's exactly why I use the "Lexicon" Bible - since "lexicon" is a Greek word for "of the original word", it's the original Hebrew and Greek. Start here: biblehub.com/lexicon/genesis/1-1.htm New Testament (the "New Covenant") starts here: biblehub.com/lexicon/matthew/1-1.htm

Have you ever considered that the trial that is being referred to here is the trial on the earth dwellers (unbelievers), which is the wrath of God that begins after the 6th seal at the Day of the Lord. I believe the resurrection occurs at the 6th seal when the cosmic signs appear in the heavens at Christ's revelation. This trial that comes on the whole world, are for those that dwell on the earth (the earth dwellers) not on the believing saints. The Bible does say that we are not appointed to God's wrath that is poured out on the earth dwellers. The great tribulation that Jesus speaks about is not God's wrath but is Satan's persecution of the saints (believers and ethnic Israel) through the Beast and the false prophet.
@bcalvert321

@@katherineconley2089 It says those on earth, everyone, saints, and those that are unbelievers. The movies and books written about this are wrong. Right on!!! Keep showing what GODS word Says! You need FAITH to be in this number, not the mockery of demons they always mocked at Gods servants, even mocked at Jesus CONSTANTLY. It's like they have DNA that makes them do this! context The scripture is talking those NOT ASLEEP and are watching. (WHAT ARE WE WATCHING FOR?, and why are you mocking it!) 1 Thessalonians 4;16 "For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first;" 17 "then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so shall we ever be with the Lord." 1 Corinthians 15:52 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. John 14:3 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. Revelatioins 3:10-11 10 Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth. 11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.

Yes, but the whole point is that Christ comes only AFTER the tribulation... There is no whisking away of people in order to prevent them from facing persecution. We are told, in scripture, that we are to expect persecution and even death for the sake of Christ! "You will be persecuted and some of you will even be killed for my name's sake, but he who endures to the end will win the crown of eternal life"! Thinking that we will be whisked away before the tribulation is a deception, designed to make people fall away from Christ if this false hope is not being realized. Or, they might falsely believe that they could never be confronted with the mark of the beast and therefore just take it anyway, because, they are not supposed to be here when the mark gets rolled out, right?

I believe everythig is tied to Daniel's 70 weeks. Not going into detail here, there's enough information on the internet. Short version: GOD gave Israel 70 weeks (490 years) to put an end to sin, with His final effort being the first coming of Jesus. Jesus was killed after the 69th week. There was no peace, sin was still here. Then came the church age. The 70th week is the 7 year tribulation during which the Jews have a last chance to accept their Savior. Those who accept Him will get into the Millenium, those who reject Him wil die. The Church Age has nothing to do with the Jews. The Church (Christians) already accepted Christ as their Savior, so there's no need to make them go through the last 7 years of the Tribulation. In fact, the entire time since Jesus' death and ressurection was a tribulation period. Christians were persecuted, still are. But they remained faithful. So why would they have to go through the Great Tribulation? The story of Noah can be compared to the Tribulation. Noah had to built an ark, so he and his family would survive the flood. The Rapture is like the Ark. The Antichrist is like the flood. Faith in Jesus gives you a place on the Ark. That's how I see it.

Word ‘Keep’ does not mean rapture or taken away. It is more in dealing with a divine protection or placed in a secured location of covering. It is also in knowing the truth of Elohim. It does not mean ‘raptured, or ‘taken out of the way.’ One of the prophecies that comes to mind and thought in my heart is a location in the wilderness were Elohim feeds and covers His people in protection will every one else goes through trail of judgment. I do not read His people being taken or raptured into Heaven. Elohim has the ability to protect His people from the trails of His judgment where ever they are or will be. He has done so in the biblical past and He will do it according to His Word in the future events according to the Word given.

The sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up . . . -Rev. 6:12-14 As we explained earlier,[38] the sun, moon, and stars were frequently used to refer to governing authorities. When governing authorities were removed or diminished, the sun, moon, or stars were said to fall or darken. In this passage, we see these authorities being shaken by the presence of God. The apocalyptic reference to earthquakes meant that God was intervening and acting in judgment to remove established authorities and replace them with His authority. To see this in another passage, we can read Hebrews 12:26-28: And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, “Yet, once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the heaven.” This expression, “Yet once more,” denotes the removing of those things which can be shaken, as of created things, so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let’s show gratitude . . . This is another example of God shaking authorities and establishing His authority. Once the sixth seal was broken, we are told: Then the kings of earth and the eminent people, and the commanders and the wealthy and the strong, and every slave and free person hid themselves in the caves . . . “Fall on us . . . for the great day of Their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?” -Rev. 6:15-17 John was seeing a vision of what “must soon take place.” God had arrayed His warhorses, which represented His authority and power. In God’s glorious presence and the presence of His power, the authorities of Earth were Struck with terror. They could see that judgment and war were about to begin.”

There is no 7 year tribulation either, the 70 weeks of Daniel are over, no gap between the 69th & 70th weeks to give you 7 years in the future. The 70th week was Messiah's ministry that was interrupted in the middle by His Crucifixion that ended the validity of the Temple sacrifices. Although the temple sacrifices were continued after Jesus' perfect sacrifice, by the unbelieving Jews, they were an abomination that brought the desolation of the temple & city in 70 ad. The last 7 years were Messiah's ministry ending with the martyrdom of Stephen. The 7 year tribulation is a false doctrine.

@@Here12years Scripture to back up this claim, please. 'Second Coming' means He is visible for EVERY eye to see. I'd like to see some scripture backing up the claim that Jesus comes and remains in the sky until the tribulation is done. Scripture CONSTANTLY tells us that God will deliver/keep/protect us THROUGH tribulations, not take us from them, or them from us. Rapture theology doesn't work. It's also very new (+- 120 years), introduced through Darby and the Schofield Bible. This is also where you get Zionism. It's ugly. It's not Biblical. It's a heresy.

@@mikegraves8628 Matt.24, The whole point of the "days of Noah" reference. The context has nothing to do with Noah,or how God saved Noah. The point Jesus was making was HOW they were living in the days of Noah,just before the flood (judgment) came and drowned all of them. They were "eating and drinking,marry,and giving away in marriage," another words business as usual, all the while,NOT KNOWING that judgment was upon them. Then Jesus said "and so also will be the coming ..." This clearly indicates He is talking about coming Before the judgments,before the tribulation. Not after. Jesus quoted Daniel 12 and mentions "the abomination". ALL the Jews knew this prophecy,that's why Jesus quoted it. Now, Jesus commanded,not suggested,that we keep watch over all the signs,right? Why should we? How can Jesus come unexpectedly? because Jesus CANNOT come at any time! Oh no,not "the Day Of The Lord",which comes at the end of the tribulation.. Why? Because the rest of Daniel 12,which Jesus started to quote, reads: 11 “And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.This is confirmed in Rev.13:5. So here, there is no Jesus can return at any time,so we have to keep watch and be ready,in post trib. All we have to do is wait for the Antichrist to enter the temple and perpetrate the abomination,and the countdown begins. 1335 days when the "abomination"takes place,and the daily sacrifices are abolished,and the Messiah,who is Jesus,RETURNS to set up His kingdom reign. There's no arguing this,it's right there plain as day. So now you have a major contradiction. if you were taught biblical exegesis and hermeneutics,you would know that there are rules. Rule that can't be broken if you're being honest with what scripture is saying. Not what you want it to say. And this is one of the big rules.You cannot have a direct contradiction like this. If Jesus is teaching that He will come unexpectedly, which was the whole point of the Matt.24 "like in the days of Noah" analogy, then this His coming that He is referring to is,IS NOT the return at the end of the tribulation. Which is know as "the Day Of The Lord".It can't be,because we know that coming will happen, to the very day. Why should we keep watch over "all these things" He commanded us to? How can people be living "business as usual" and making plans for their future,ALL through the tribulation,until the end,when very few people are even alive?! How can ALL the churches just "fall asleep",(Matt.25,parable of the ten bridesmaids) while the Antichrist is killing all the saints ? Rev.13:7 Did the apostles know what the church was when Jesus taught "Upon this rock I shall build my church,and the gate of hell shall never prevail against it"? No! They didn't know what the church was. That word ecclesia meant "called out ones". Who was that? Did they know the church would be mostly gentiles,under a new covenant,that would abolish the old covenant? No. Not for decades. Only Paul had the "mystery"of the church and the rapture revealed to him.Thirty plus years later. Only the writer of Hebrews knew there was going to be a new covenant,that would abolish the old covenant. Because the new covenant was for gentiles,the church. So,in the Olivet discourse,in three of the gospels, when Jesus taught about His returning,they,and everyone listening to Jesus,who knew the prophets, had no clue about the rapture.Because they didn't have a clue about what the church was! They only knew the Day Of the Lord,which comes at the end of the tribulation. Everyone who followed Jesus was looking for the Messiah to come and set up His kingdom reign. But the things He was teaching and prophesying just didn't make sense. Not to the Jews or the apostles. Think about it,with what you knew of O.T. prophecies and then listening to Jesus teach here,wouldn't you be confused? You can't separate the prophecies concerning the Jews,and the 144000 from the 12 tribes of Israel,and possibly the "bridesmaids who ran out of oil" (they were left out of the wedding (the rapture)but it doesn't mean they can't repent,from the church. Not if you didn't know what the church is. And thats the problem Post Trib believers have. They see the tribulation saints,as the church,going through the judgments of God's wrath. But our faith has already been proven,or we wouldn't have been raptured in the first place,get it. It's the tribulation saints (notice they're not ekklesia) ,which in part must be the 144000 from the 12 tribes of Israel,who's faith is being tested.

@mikegraves8628 Месяц назад
@@user-bs5sr3gh3q The abomination of desolation occurred in AD 70. The ancient church understood this, which is exactly why Christ said "this generation will surely not pass till ALL is fulfilled". What generation? THAT generation. The generation He was speaking to. Again, I will say that the Rapture doctrine is new. It did not exist 200 years ago. It's not Biblical. The Rapture doctrine also gives way to a 'second chance', that you may be saved after the church has been Raptured. When Jesus returns suddenly, that's it. "He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.” When He comes, EVERY eye will see Him, even those that pierced Him. Insinuating that those that crucified our Lord have been resurrected. "The dead in Christ shall rise FIRST, THEN we which are alive and REMAIN shall be caught up together with them in the CLOUDS, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord". Context is everything. If the dead are rising, this is the resurrection. Every human being that has ever existed will be resurrected, either to eternal life, or will face the second death. THAT is Biblical. Nowhere in Scripture is there described a SECRET Rapture event where only Christians will disappear, and then all of the sudden the tribulation takes place. Also; 1 Thessalonians 4:16 says He will RETURN with a SHOUT. Not very secretive. It's pretty clear when you read it for what it says. Dispensationalism leads the church astray, and it's specifically a Western church theology. Regarding Israel and the 144,000, you're ASSUMING they're Jews. That's your westernized interpretation of the Word. Israel was made up of 12 tribes. 10 of them were cast out of the land and are now referred to as the "lost tribes". If you know anything about ancient history, you'll find that these 10 tribes make up the modern world/nations. For example, the tribes of Dan, Ashur, and Nephtali settled in Scandinavia, Denmark, etc. and ended up making what is today the German, French, Danish, and other people groups. These tribes didn't just 'disappear'. They migrated over to Europe, and they weren't 'Jewish'. The modern day state of Israel is made up of Ashkenazi Jews, who aren't children of Shem (Semitic), but of Japheth (Gomer/Ashkenaz). At the end of the day, it sounds like you are fully in on this Rapture business, and there's nothing I can say to change your mind. All I can say is that I hope your faith is strong and doesn't fail you in the day of trouble and He hasn't returned yet. My parents believe the same things you do, and there's nothing I can say to change their minds.

To me, knowing God’s character, His love of the church, and how He rescues His people, it seems that the rapture is indicative and in alignment with Who He is. Also, Scripture backs it up as others have written here. However, those of you who want to go through the tribulation, have at it. 😊 The important thing is to know Christ and be ready.

And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you? They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory. But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized: But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared. Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. That’s not what “the rapture” is, and there’s more that we base it and even other end times ideas. Revelations has to be read in context and a couple of verses elsewhere assume the *modern* ideas of inerrancy and literalism, more are not early or otherwise historic ideas. Allegory and parables are also lost on people out of context. He even gives it in this video.. though it still is doing all of the above- so much more learning and unpacking to do. Even Jews see the OT differently and some are still trying to learn the intent to be consistent. Even beyond that, it’s important to understand that allegories in the Old Testament are not what we think. Even extreme groups about the rapture don’t see most of the verses that are used as talking about it. Only see 1 Thessalonians he cited as supporting it. I’m sure people vary because the ones who were most intense about it before the last 7-8 years or so focused so much on staying in each book of the Torah for a year or two at a time and talking about it literally or whatever they came up with outside of Jewish understanding of underling meanings. Good times. Even Left Behind books- the author prefaces in first pages that it’s a work of fiction and isn’t necessarily supporting anything in the Bible. This is still incredibly literal, out of context. Revelations is about Roman Empires persecution and the Jews and early Christians, and Paul or whomever wrote Thessalonians and others has a range of conflicting ideas, including thinking Jesus was coming back soon, at least when taking consistently literal. It’s important to not just believe what people tell you that you should or must believe.

@@TRUTHINCHRIST-cw8ke This guy missed the mark in many ways. All this video did is confirm for me that the rapture is indeed in the Bible. He ended by mentioning I Corinthians 15, but just he chastised people for earlier, took only a piece of the passage. The context of this chapter is the changing of the perishable (the flesh) with the imperishable (spiritual bodies). "50 I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed- 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality." Somehow, this perishable flesh will be changed "in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet." This is not talking about a few people who survive welcoming Jesus in the flesh. It is a "mysterious" event (vs.51). Notice it also says "we will not all sleep" (die) "but we will all be changed..." Changed into what? That which is imperishable (vs. 50). His lack of faith in the clear teaching of the Bible is alarming, and alarmingly close to what the Jehovah's Witnesses teach; that the bad people will be taken leaving the good people behind. May I remind you the "rapture" has already happened twice in the Bible - Enoch and Elijah. Neither saw death. (Hebrews 11:5) Sorry, this man needs to study more.

I had assumed it was a mainstream, baseline bit of theology. But then I started wondering, after I started reading about the doctrine itself: If the "rapture" as it's taught in modern fundamentalism is true, why is it such a relatively new doctrine, dating back only to about the 1800's? If the rapture is, indeed, a "thing" why did it take Christianity nearly two thousand years to notice it?

Thats a myth that post tribbers keep claiming. Actually,it a lie. And if they keep spreading this lie, without doing the research,it clearly demonstrates their lack of integrity and honesty! The Apocalypse of Elijah This third-century text exists in two versions, one Coptic, another Greek. It is written from a premillennial perspective and contains extensive detailed material on the tribulation period. After discussing the emergence of the Antichrist onto the world’s stage (ch. 3) and the arrival of the two witnesses to oppose him (ch. 4), the document describes the Rapture as Christ’s deliverance of His people to preserve them from wrath (ch. 5). The pertinent passage reads: On that day the Christ will pity those who are His own. And He will send from heaven his sixty-four thousand angels, each of whom has six wings. The sound will move heaven and earth when they give praise and glorify. Now those upon whose forehead the name of Christ is written and upon whose hand is the seal both the small and the great, will be taken up upon their wings and lifted up before his wrath. Then Gabriel and Uriel will become a pillar of light leading them into the holy land. It will be granted to them to eat from the tree of life. They will wear white garments and angels will watch over them. They will not thirst, nor will the son of lawlessness be able to prevail over them (Apocalypse of Elijah 5:1-6). This text clearly depicts the Rapture as an event that will remove Christians from earth to Heaven before the outbreak of the Antichrist’s persecution. In this way, they will be shielded in Heaven from his cruel deeds. In his article “The Rapture in the Apocalypse of Elijah,” Gumerlock notes that this apocalypse states the Rapture’s purpose as the removal of God’s people from wrath. He argues that that period of wrath should be understood as the tribulation period, since “the sinners left behind on earth cry: ‘See, now we will die in a famine and tribulation [Apocalypse of Elijah 5:12].’” If his interpretation is accurate, then this text is clearly teaching a pretribulational Rapture. The Apocalypse of Pseudo-Ephraem Also known as “On the Last Times, the Antichrist, and the End of the World” or “Sermon on the End of the World,” this text survives in two somewhat varied versions, one Syriac, another Latin. The Latin version contains a pretribulational statement: We ought to understand thoroughly, therefore, my brothers, what is imminent or overhanging. . . . Why therefore we do not reject every care of earthly actions and prepare ourselves for the meeting of the Lord Jesus Christ, so that He may draw us from the confusion, which overwhelms all the world. . . . For all the saints and elect of God are gathered together before the tribulation, which is to come, and are taken to the Lord, in order that they may not see at any time the confusion which overwhelms the world because of our sins. The material that follows clearly equates this tribulation with the period of the Antichrist’s dominance over the earth as foretold in the books of Daniel and Revelation. One area of disagreement between this document and modern pretribulationism is that Pseudo-Ephraem thought the Tribulation would be just three and a half years in length, not seven. Nevertheless, his view is still clearly pretribulational in sum and substance. In their article “The Rapture and an Early Medieval Citation,” Demy and Ice conclude, “Although the sermon has some ambiguities, it, like pretribulationism, clearly emphasizes imminence, two comings separated by the tribulation, and the promise of deliverance of believers from the tribulation.” Some critics will counter by questioning the reliability of these two sources. After all, we don’t know exactly when or where they were written, or even who their authors were! But this objection misses the point entirely. Pretribulationists do not appeal to these two sources as authoritative sources for theology, but only to demonstrate the falsity of their critics’ accusation that pretribulationism is a recent invention. So the origin and authoritativeness of these documents are utterly irrelevant to the discussion at hand; all that matters for the present purpose is that they are demonstrably Christian documents from the ancient and medieval periods that clearly teach a form of pretribulationism. The History of Brother Dolcino Brother Dolcino was the leader of the 14th-century movement known as the Apostolic Brethren. While none of his writings on this subject have survived, an anonymous Latin document written in 1316 records firsthand information on the life and teachings of Brother Dolcino. This document contains yet another statement of early pretribulationism: Again [Dolcino believed and preached and taught] that within those three years Dolcino himself and his followers will preach the coming of the Antichrist. And that the Antichrist was coming into this world within the bounds of the said three and a half years; and after he had come, then he [Dolcino] and his followers would be transferred into Paradise, in which are Enoch and Elijah. And in this way they will be preserved unharmed from the persecution of Antichrist. And that then Enoch and Elijah themselves would descend on the earth for the purpose of preaching [against] the Antichrist. Then they would be killed by him or by his servants, and thus Antichrist would reign for a long time. But when Antichrist is dead, Dolcino himself, who then would be the holy pope, and his preserved followers, will descend on the earth, and will preach the right faith of Christ to all, and will convert those who will be living then to the true faith of Jesus Christ. Once again, the end times chronology presented in this text is quite clear: first the Antichrist is revealed, then the Rapture occurs, then an extended period of tribulation grips the earth, then the church returns to earth with Christ at His second coming. In his article “A Rapture Citation in the Fourteenth Century,” Gumerlock rightly concludes: This paragraph from The History of Brother Dolcino indicates that in northern Italy in the early fourteenth century a teaching very similar to pretribulationism was being preached. . . . While not suggesting that pretribulationism was the dominant view of the rapture in the Middle Ages, it is likely that such teaching did not occur in a vacuum and that others besides Dolcino were aware of it. It can reasonably be assumed that the Apostolic Brethren (who numbered in the thousands) believed, as did their leader, that when the Antichrist would arrive, they would be transferred to paradise and be preserved there from his persecution in the tribulation

@@RichardSmith-dj2th Former independent Baptist myself. The rapture was invented by John Nelson Darby along with many false teaching. He taught unsaved Jews are still God's chosen people, but the scriptures teach the polar opposite, he falsely taught a 1000 year reign of Christ on earth nowhere taught in the new testament, Jesus said he would lose nothing but raise them up on the last day, last day means there are no more days after the second coming. Christ's reign is forever and His kingdom shall have no end! CH Spurgeon rejected Rapture theology and a literal 1000 year reign and he was considered to be the greatest Baptist preacher ever.

Not to burst any bubbles, but the original text of John 14:2 is: πατρός οἰκίᾳ πολλαί εἰ πορεύομαι ἑτοιμάσαι τόπον DIRECT translation: "a father a dwelling much an abode/to abide to go to prepare a place" So, "In my Father's house" was ADDED BY TRANSLATORS, as was "if it were not so, I would have told you" - besides, that makes NO sense!!), and the ending "for you" was added. Let's look at the antiquated KJV (hideously, the most popular): "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. Or, what do YOU think it means?: a father a dwelling much an abode to go to prepare a place" I think it means "there will be an obvious and public arrival - with a loud announcement. We will then meet our Creator in the air (the lower parts of the sky)" Call me crazy, but I don't WANT to live in a "streets of gold" "city". I like Earth, and I hope it is here, in a 22 degrees (72 F) place - with running water, and fields. ANYway... v 3: 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. ἔρχομαι πάλιν παραλήμψομαι ἐμαυτόν ὅπου εἰμὶ καὶ Literally: "to prepare a place to come/go back/again of myself where I exist and also" "there you may be" was added, as well as [a place] "for you" It was just "a place". The last part "even also" was not "there you may be" [also]. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know." ὁδόν ὅπου ὑπάγω Literally: "a way/road where to lead or bring/to depart" So, "And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know" - was grossly misinterpreted by KJ - how do you get that from "a way/road where to lead or bring/depart" Just sayin' 🙂

Listen to your parents, they are right. This guy missed the mark in many ways.

Lately I have had the feeling of being lifted up off the ground. I get very afraid when I feel this and start shrinking back down and start praying intensely to Jesus to please leave me and let me live out the rest of my life on the earth.. as He said a man's life will be 80 years. Not a gift all seem to receive but I certainly believe if I ask for that I will get it. Something is absolutely going on and I wonder since I have seen Jesus already maybe He is telling me i am one of those who remains for im still alive to meet him in the air... pray for me for this to be revealed. When I was a teenager in the 90s, I had been led to believe that premillennial dispensationalism wasn't some modern invention - it was just what the Bible said! I watched the news for signs that Jesus was going to take me away at any moment. My girlfriend (now wife) and I considered that we might not want to have children, because the tribulation was definitely going to happen soon and we didn't want them to be left behind. Then I actually read the Bible for myself. One of the key points here is understanding that the people being "taken away" - whether by flood waters, by Roman authorities in 70 AD, or by God in judgment - are not the fortunate ones. Also, thank you for pointing out that the promise of our resurrection isn't some spiritual life in a far off, cloudy place where we sit around playing harps. The promise of Christ is a creation made new - a physical existence finally free of death and decay. Thanks for this, Skye. I've been writing a "The Bible Doesn't Say That" series of scripts for RU-vid, and this was definitely going to be one of them.

Its NOT in revelation? LETS SEE.. Revelation 7: 9-16 " After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.” 11 All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying: “Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!” 13 Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes-who are they, and where did they come from?” 14 I answered, “Sir, you know.” And he said, “These are they who have COME OUT of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore, “they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence. 16 ‘Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat down on them,’[a] nor any scorching heat. " Revelation 14 "Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads. 2 And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps. 3 And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been REDEEMED FROM THE EARTH. 4 These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they remained virgins. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among mankind and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb. 5 No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless." Theres more but they are easy to assume that its referring to those who already are in heaven and been there for time.

In fact lord translates to baal in Hebrew and we know baal is satan so we shouldn't be referring to the Father or Messiah by that title. 3. As he stated in the video it is the wicked who were taken from the earth.. To expand on that in Matthew 13:24-30 in the parable of the wheat and tares, it is the tares that are gathered up by the reapers and burned and the wheat remains..The tares symbolizes the wicked and the wheat the righteous.. Now let's see, the bible is supposedly the word of God and the authors were inspired by God to write the truth, Well God didn't do a very good job of proof reading because there are a lot of outright lies and stories that just don't stack up. For example, Samson was bound by ropes and as he was delivered to the Philistines he broke his bonds and grabbed a piece of bone using it as a weapon, he then set about slaughtering 1000 armed and trained Philistine soldiers by himself, this is incredible because even if he was super strong and he killed two or three it would be possible, but to believe that he was surrounded by 1000 armed men and he killed them all is just a blatant lie, maybe God helped him and if that was the case why didn't God just kill them himself and spare Samson the trouble? but apparently God didn't intervene just as he's not going to intervene if you are ever in trouble. The jaw bone of an ass that Samson used as a weapon would have been worn out and broken after the first 100 kills and Samson would have looked like a porcupine covered with spears and arrows, how long did it take him to finish the battle? killing 1000 soldiers must have taken a long time, possibly weeks of constant battle without a rest. This old time Superman story might have been believed by people living in the dark ages but it stretches credulity to the limit today. The story of Samson is a lie, just as the story of Jonah is a lie, he supposedly lived inside a fish for three days before being vomited up on the shore, the only fish large enough to swallow a man whole is a whale and if that happened he would have been drowned in the whales stomach almost immediately, After three days the whale swam to the shore to deposit Jonah on dry land, very convenient. If it had ejected him in deep water he would have been fish food, Oh well, blind faith covers everything. Now let's get to Noah, if there was torrential rain for forty days and nights the sea levels around the world would hardly rise at all (Google-Physics 333 Noah’s flood) hardly enough to get the Ark afloat and there would still be plenty of dry land, The Ark floated around for the best part of a year yet there was enough food aboard to feed 500,000 animals, the animals traveled back to their own countries after the cruise finished, the story of Noah is another lie. Another consideration is, what will happen to people’s faith who based their beliefs on the expectation that they would not have to endure any serious persecution? Jesus comment that “because of the increase in wickedness the love of most will grow cold” (Matt 24)was in context of being asked about his return. If you are counting on being raptured before things get too tough how will your faith hold up under extreme persecution? Shouldn’t our goal to be one who has a faith strong enough to be one of those who “overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”?? The book of Matthew was written for Jews and the bulk of Israel will go into the tribulation. Unfortunately, two thirds of Israel will be killed during the tribulation. The remaining third will turn to Christ and be saved and go on to rule with Christ during the millennian reign.

@hscollier Who said we're not going to endure serious persecution before the rapture. Have you studied the Olivet discourse in Matt.24? Jesus prophesied we would be persecuted,it's one of the signs. Are you aware of the statistics showing that more Christians are and have been persecuted in the last fifteen years,than in any other time in church history! How many have been killed in Africa ,India,and the middle east? Some were martyred,some were tortured,other's managed to escape as refugees,having to leave behind everything they own. How did their faith hold up? This is the message I'm posting everywhere I'm able to. A message,call it prophetic if you want,but this is what has shown me. Why did the apostles fall asleep in the garden? How could they allow that to happen? Jesus woke them up.And they went back to sleep?!!!! What?j Jesus had been telling them He was at the end of His ministry. He had been preparing them to carry it on for the last three years. Was he ever wrong? Never! And the apostles knew it. Why did they fall asleep? Do you ever see the apostles directly ignore an instruction Jesus gave them? Study the events just hours earlier and notice. At least John and Peter knew that Judas was going to betray Jesus. So,when Jesus woke up John and Peter,why didn't they notice that Judas had never returned? Now,look at what happened when the rude awakening came upon all of them. They were all overcome by fear. Peter takes up his sword,and tries to kill the guard coming at him. And denied knowing Jesus later. Jesus warned him,stay up and pray or you'll be overcome by temptation. And then all the apostles deserted Jesus and hid themselves away. Now Jesus commanded us to keep watch over the signs of His coming. It wasn't a suggestion!! And they're happening like never before! ALL of the are! (Jason A youtube channel is documenting them.) So we should be paying attention to what Jesus prophesied in Matt.24 and realize how close we are to His coming. Take note,Matt.25,which is post text to the Olivet discourse,the parable of the ten bridesmaids. 5 The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they ALL became drowsy and FELL ASLEEP.It's not just some ran out of oil. If just one had stayed awake,she could have warned the others,before it was too late.See that? Were any of them truly wise? There's a rude awakening coming to America. And we,you,need to warn those Christians who are asleep! Those who don't want to believe what Jesus taught,so they're ignoring the signs. ALL the signs are happening right now. Volcanoes and earthquakes erupting all over,breaking records. Hurricanes,floods,crop failure,gov't mandated destruction! (millions of chickens ordered destroyed because of one case of avian bird flu!),insect plagues,famines,the greatest persecution of Christians in church history, wars and rumors of wars. The truth is,America is under judgment. God has removed His protection and power from us as a nation. Our enemies have infiltrated our gov't and pull the strings of the presidency,the Whitehouse,and many federal agencies (The deep state"). You and I,and every taxpayer owes nearly $100,000.00 because of the national debt! Think we can pay this off? Well it's not going away! And now,the president is adding more than another trillion dollars to this debt! get it?The millions of illegals that have been let into our country,who is going to pay for them? Everybody,non Christian, economic and financial experts are warning of this collapse in the U.S. and the great reset coming/ You know this. And the newly formed global economic system is already emerging. This IS the "beast"system of Rev.13 and 17.How hard would it to stage a false flag terror attack now,since thousands more terrorist have been allowed into our country? The apostles ignored Jesus prophecies because they just didn't want to believe it was all going to happen now.And they paid a price for not staying awake and praying when Jesus instructed them to. They were overcome by their fears. They blew their testimony.They ran away and deserted Jesus,and hid themselves away! And Christians are repeating this right now! Much of the church is asleep,just like Jesus taught. They're hoping trump will come back and everything will go back to being great again. That's not going to happen. This country is on the verge of collapse right now.And many Christians are falling away,just like Paul taught in 2Thess. The truth is,America is under judgment. God has removed His protection and power from us as a nation. Our enemies have infiltrated our gov't and pull the strings of the presidency,the Whitehouse,and many federal agencies (The deep state"). Everyone awake knows this. And this global economic system,in planning for decades, is now emerging. This IS the "beast"system of Rev.13 and 17 in the bible.Which paves the way for the Antichrist to take over and rule. So hard would it to stage a false flag terror attack now,since thousands more terrorist have been allowed into our country? When martial law is declared you can be sure chaos and fear will spread like a wildfire across our nation. Now you say "if it happens"? IF? It's all been planned!!! Wake up. Why do you think millions are stocking up on food and supplies,and buy guns and ammo,in record numbers! Here;s a fact.America is not mentioned in bible prophecy. Yes the rapture is in the Bible. Revelation 3:10 Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth. 1Thessalonians 5:9-10 9 For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 (THEN) we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Luke 21:36 But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to (ESCAPE) all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.” 1 Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath (TO COME).

Let's go over this, shall we? "Yes the rapture is in the Bible." Correct, but it ain't pretrib! "Revelation 3:10 Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth." This is your FIRST verse you post?! This verse is not talking about the Rapture AT ALL! If you think it does, it's because some preacher CONNED you into that interpretation. The word "keep" mean to GUARD, not to Rapture you out of here. And "the hour of temptation (KJV)" is NOT what that same preacher told you it was. You can't claim the hour of temptation is linked to an Antichrist or the Mark of the Beast or anything else. You don't know that. It's just a false assumption made by PreTrib Dispensationalists who use eisegesis to make there false theology sound right. "1Thessalonians 5:9-10 9 For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him." And this is your SECOND go to verse?! This doesn't prove a Rapture. It just proves you don't understand the word "wrath". All this verse is saying is that we won't go through the 7 Vials, which are "the wrath of God" according to Revelation 15:1, 15:7, and 16:1. We get raptured "at the last trump" just before those 7 Vials. That ain't "PreTrib". It's Post Trib! "1 Thessalonians 4:17 (THEN) we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord." THIS should have been your FIRST go to verse. "Luke 21:36 But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to (ESCAPE) all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.” How does this verse prove a Rapture?! It doesn't. But you're using it trying to prove "immanency" which is just NOT there in the Bible AT ALL. I'm more awake than you! I'm ready for the Rapture! But I know it'll be Post Trib. "1 Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath (TO COME)." Again, this verse doesn't prove a Rapture at all. Your biggest mistake here is your belief that the Seals and Trumpets are "the wrath of God". They're not! Go read Revelation 15:1, 15:7, and 16:1. Only the Vials are God's Wrath and they happen AFTER "the last trump" when we get Raptured.

Eman… excellent post. Great Bible proofs. I guess Anti-Rapture people are choosing to stay behind. Hopefully Jesus gives them a second chance to be raptured up in A mid Tribulation Rapture or an End of Tribulation Rapture to receive their imperishable body, right before the church comes back with Jesus to destroy the wicked and save the Jews to set up a Millennium Kingdom for a thousand years. Revelation 17:14, Revelation 19:14-16, Daniel 11:36, Zachariah 14:5. Revelation 20.

@LaShayMcKeel-wc3mf The Book is called "Revelation". No wonder you're a Preterist. Your hermeneutic is horrible. When you reject what is literally said in favor of allegory, you make God a liar. You mislead and deceive by pushing Preterism.

@@LaShayMcKeel-wc3mf You have every right to decide that you want to go through the Tribulations and stay behind and go through the torturing wrath, so you can receive a better resurrection…however don’t keep trying to deceive others into going through it with you. Others believe in the Rapture/1Resurrection and we are going to meet Jesus in the clouds to go home with him to Heaven, like he promised. 1Thess 1:10, 1Thess 4:13-18, 1Thess 5:9, John 14:1-3. Good luck making it through without caving into Anti-Christ, the tortures, earthquakes, plagues, pestilence, starvation, bloody water, beheadings, being sawed in half, etc… Paul warned us not to want to go through this. Hebrews 11:35-40 says… There were others who were tortured, refusing to be released so that they might gain an even better resurrection. 36 Some faced jeers and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. 37 They were put to death by stoning; they were sawed in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated- 38 the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, living in caves and in holes in the ground. 39 These were all commended for their faith, yet NONE of them received what had been promised, 40 since God had planned something BETTER for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect. I believe what Skye means to say is there’s no such thing as a pre-tribulation rapture. The catching away is biblical and the word in 1 Thes 4 for that catching away in Latin is “rapturo”. The Greek is harpazo. In other words Skye does believe in the catching away which is the rapture. It’s just not pre-trib.

1 Thessalonians 4 "For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words." If no rapture no comfort...sounds like rapture to me.

I appreciate the spirit which the video takes. I'm not a big fan of Christians beating each other up. I would like you to consider a few things. The words used in 1 Thes 4:17 are "catching away", to describe the event; "harpazo" in greek, "rapere" in latin. This is where we get the "rapture" nickname. Calling it the "catching away", doesn't stick as well, I guess. Secondly, if the passage is about "Jesus returning to rule the earth", why does Paul introduce the topic earlier in the book by saying, "They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead - Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath," 1 Thes 1:9b-10?

It's not beating up on each other when other Christians quote scripture to defend the faith. If Paul was here, he would be all over the comment section and Jude would agree with him. "You should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." Jude 3 RC

Why is the Greek harpazo not enough? Why do you want to go into LATIN? (Catholic and referring to their 'mary') .
@shineandre
@shineandre 21 день назад
@@time_2_get_ready it's funny but true - but it is also sad. The reason for using Greek and Latin here is because brothers and sisters in Christ do not receive the English as authoritive enough to convince them that there is a rapture and not everyone in the church will be caught up not because they are not Christian but simply because they do not believe Jesus will come to save them from the wrath of God and the wrath of the lamb.

The coming wrath we are rescued from is the return of Christ. He returns to judge and wage war in a flaming fire on the unbelievers, and those who did not obey him, the tribulation is judgment for sin. Yes, Jesus died to forgive us for our sins, but we were never exempt from the consequences of sin.

Without a rapture,and it must be Pre trib,you have some major contradictions in scripture.Now lets get something straight. This guys claims dispensationalist don't teach out of Matt.24,or Luke 17,21. Thats not true,not at all. Jack Van Impe and Chuck Missler did. Many others have.Should I give him the benefit of the doubt that he's unaware, or is he purposely trying to mislead people? Here's my teaching,as I studied under these guys,and others,and I am a Premillenial Dispensationalist. In Luke 17, 35,36,"One is taken (not killed). In the original Greek, from para lambano, to receive from,. The other left,from apo hiemi, left alone,sent away. Also not necessarily killed. One is received,or taken,one is left behind. In verse 37, the word "vulture" is mistranslated in the original manuscript.The Greek word is aeotos,which is clearly "eagles" ,not vultures. This verse is still a mystery,what does it mean? Because Eagles do not gather around dead bodies,eagles eat live prey. And the people of Jesus day,which was an agrarian society,knew this. It was purposely mistranslated because apparently the translators knew that only vultures gather around dead bodies. But it's there in Luke 17amd Matt.24,purposely written down as Eagles,not vultures. But here's the thing you missed. Luke 17:37,The apostles ask "where" when Jesus says they were taken,received. Where were they taken? Jesus doesn't answer that. But those who say taken means killed,they're wrong. The apostles wouldn't ask 'where"if they understood it was killed. Now here's my apologetic for a Pretrib rapture. Jesus taught He could return at any time. This is called the doctrine of imminency. Jesus and the apostles wrote about this many times. But in a post rib view,there is no imminency. Why,because the number of days is specifically mentioned in Daniel12: 11 “And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.This is confirmed in Rev.13:5. Now,Jesus directly referred to the "abomination"in Daniel. There is no Jesus can return at any time,so we have to keep watch and be ready,in post trib. All we have to do is wait for the Antichrist to enter the temple and perpetrate the abomination,and the countdown begins. 1335 days when the "abomination"takes place,and the daily sacrifices are abolished,and the Messiah,who is Jesus,returns to set up His kingdom reign. There's no arguing this,it right there plain as day. Jesus directly quoted this verse in Daniel 12. Do you think the Jews didn't know this prophecy? Well the Pharisees surely did. So why would Jesus teach that He could come at any time? Why should we "be sober and alert,keeping watch over the signs of His coming,please tell me? 2. Jesus taught His return will be just BEFORE, the judgment of the world, like in "the days of Noah",where people were living their lives,"business as usual",making plans for dinner,to get married,and see their children marry,etc.And they were completely unaware that judgment was upon them. So,here's a scriptural contradiction,Rev.6:12 I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the [h]moon became like blood. 13 And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. 14 Then the sky [i]receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. 15 And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, 16 and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! 17 For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?” See that? These people ARE aware that God's judgment is upon them,and they're terrified! And this is just the beginning of the tribulation period. Jesus taught He would return just BEFORE the judgments begin, this has to be pretrib. Matt.24:38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. 42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. Verse 40,this is the rapture. They're taken (away),not killed. It's very clear,they're not killed,they're taken.And the other was left. It's absurd to believe that people will be eating and drinking (eating and drinking what? With all the famines,plagues, earthquakes,1/3 of all the green grass burned away,1/3 of the ocean dies,even if there is food in certain areas,1/3 pf all the ships destroyed.And this in just one of the trumpet judgments!) making plans to get married,and see their children grow up and marry?! People living their lives,business as usual,during the tribulation? No way! One last thing.The Rapture is NOT Jesus returning to set up His kingdom. That does happen at the end of the tribulation period,ok? The rapture is US,the Church, being taken away into the cloud to be with Jesus. And then,the wedding feast of the lamb will begin,while the tribulation begins on Earth.And,further confirmation of this is in Matt.25,the parable of the bridesmaids. Remember,the ones who ran out of oil were left out of the wedding feast? The wedding feast will be celebrated when the church,the bride,is raptured. Here's the last thing, in post trib,what event signifies the tribulation has begun? Give me an answer. In pretrib,it's the rapture that begins the tribulation period. And the rapture itself,IS a judgment being pronounced upon the world. Now did the apostles know what the church was when Jesus taught "Upon this rock I shall build my church,and the gate of hell shall never prevail against it"? Now look up Revelation 13,5-8. There's another contradiction,one that breaks the promise Jesus made about the church. The Antichrist is given power and authority to conquer,or destroy,the "saints",for 1290 days (Daniel 12 again). Did Jesus teach "the gates of hell shall never prevail ...oh,but only until the Antichrist is revealed. Then the church will be destroyed. No Jesus made a promise to us,the church. These 'saints",or holy people in the Greek,are not the church,in the chapters of judgment in Revelation. And in part, they must be the 144 thousand Jews, from the 12 tribes of Israel. Last thing. In over thirty years I have debated Post trib believers. Not one has been able to explain or refute the argument I put for,or the scriptures I've referenced.Jesus commanded,not suggested,that we keep watch over the signs,because we don't know when He could return. Be the first Post tribber to answer this. Why should we? Daniel 12,which Jesus quoted directly in Matt.24pecifically states that the Messiah,Jesus,will come,1335 days,after the "abomination"and the daily sacrifices are ceased. Jesus cannot come at any time! Why should we watch over the sings then? I bet you won't answer this.

Read it again. This guy missed the mark in many ways.

Noah and company were not removed rapture before the flood came, they went though it and were kept-protected during it, which is what Rev. 3:10 is referring to. Lets see what Christ said about the days of Noah) Matthew 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. (What else will it be like on earth before the coming of Christ?) 38For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage until the day that Noe entered into the ark. (Who were they eating, drinking and giving in marriage to in the days of Noah? those fallen angels that disobeyed and left heaven and came to earth and mated with women and giants were born. That was Satan's second attempt at trying to corrupt the blood line Christ would come through, Satan's first attempt was in the garden with Eve. Will there be giants during the tribulation? no, as we see also in Matthew 24 Christ shortened the tribulation for His elect/Christians so the tribulation is no longer for seven years, so nobody is going any where for seven years, nor time enough for giants... As written in Rev. chapters 9 & 12 those angels are coming again to earth during the tribulation, that's what else it will be like before Christ returns, those angels/locust's will be here on earth again during the tribulation, before the son of man-Christ returns) 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. (Many will be taken away-deceived by Satan and his angels fall away 2nd Thess. 2 after they are all cast out of heaven to earth on the woe of the fifth trumpet Rev. chapters 9 & 12. In the days of Noah there was a flood of water and there will be another flood before Christ returns, but this time not a flood of water but a flood of lies coming out of Satan as we also read of in) Rev. chapter 12:15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. (There is another flood coming, many will be swallowed up by those lies-deceived. We go through the tribulation with Satan and his angels before Christ returns...But as the days of Noah) and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. (That also happens before Christ returns...

There are 5 fundamental considerations (along with many additional factors), clearly indicating that the church must be removed from earth prior to the tribulation: 1. The church is the bride of Christ (Revelation 19:7, John 3:29), and God promised the saints constituting the church that they would not face His wrath (Romans 5:9, 1 Thessalonians 1:10 and 5:9), which is poured out on the earth during the tribulation (Revelation 6:16-17, 11:18, 14:19, 15:1, 15:7 & Revelation 16); rather, the promise to the saints constituting the church is for sequestration and protection (Isaiah 26:20-21, John 14:1-3-with parallels of Noah, Rahab, Lot & his family, and Enoch-all of which are not Jewish people). 2. The basis for salvation changes during the tribulation period. Now, before the tribulation, we obtain forgiveness of sin and eternal life by believing in and accepting the sacrifice of Jesus and His resurrection. (John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10). During the tribulation, however, in addition to believing in Jesus, a person must also refuse to worship the Antichrist, and a person must also reject the Antichrist’s mark (Revelation 14:9-10). This is why Jesus said that the Gospel during the tribulation is one of endurance (Matthew 24:9-14). The change in the standard for salvation is best implemented by first removing the saints constituting the church; otherwise, many saved people risk losing their salvation. 3. God needs to complete His plan for the descendants of Jacob (i.e.,the final “seven”-year period-of Gabriel’s prophecy to Daniel as recorded in Daniel 9:24-27-which prophecy is expressly related to Jerusalem and Daniel’s people), which has been suspended during the time of the church (Romans 11:25-26). The fact that the plan of God is directed almost exclusively towards Israel & Jerusalem in the tribulation is evidenced by the attacks on Israel during the tribulation (Ezekiel 38-39), which are described like a locust invasion of Israel (Judges 7:12, Joel 1, Isaiah 33:4 & Amos 7:1-6), the battle of Armageddon occurring in Israel (Revelation 16:12-16, 19:11-20), the special seal being given only to 144,000 “sons of Israel” (Revelation 7:1-8), and Jesus returning to earth at the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem (Zechariah 14:4). This is starkly different from the plan of God during the pre-tribulation period for the entire world (John 3:16 & Matthew 28:19-20). 4. During the tribulation, God uses special Gospel proclaimers, including the 2 witnesses (Revelation 11:1-13), an eagle (Revelation 8:13), and 3 angels (Revelation 14:6-11)-strongly suggesting that the church is no longer present to spread the Gospel. 5. There are indications in Scripture of a pre-tribulation harvest (see Amos 7:1-6, where the “king’s crop” has already been taken before the “spring crop” of tribulation saints are harvested, the latter of which occurs prior to, during or as a consequence of the assault on Israel). ProphecyResources.com provides extensive additional information in support of a pre-tribulation rapture. The overwhelming scope of information demonstrates the undeniability of the pre-tribulation rapture. Maranatha!

The Rapture was invented by Margaret McDonald in 1835 and if you look up the word rapture in the dictionary it's an evil thing. David McPherson wrote several books on it you could Google him and read his documentation that there is no Rapture that it's Satan that's going to be preaching the Rapture because the first one that's taken in the field and Matthew 24 is Satan taking them in his fake rapture. Yes it is. Mathew 24:40 is sufficient, but you also have 1 Thessalonians 4:17. No need to read more into this. Those who follow Jesus Christ in word and in deed will be caught up to meet him. Remember what he said: "What manner of men aught ye to be, behold even as I am". We need to practice doing the things that Jesus Christ would do and not worry about other details.

I recall a sermon from years ago from a pastor who said something similar. He said Christians would be here for the tribulations and that God doesn't necessarily remove his people, he protects them in the midst of trials and tribulations. He was saying that some Christians had abandoned the work of spreading the gospel to save others thinking they would be removed but that wasn't the case. I wish I could remember his name.

Read up about John Nelson Darby in the late 1800's and how our notions about end times eschatology started with him. For most of the 2000 years of church history -the church AT LARGE has never believed in a Rapture or a Tribulation, that is until Darby introduced the notion and Scofield ratified it in commentary form at the bottom of the bible page. The western church has been reading into the bible the ideas from these men and not interpreting scripture from other scripture. For me, Dispensationalism has been "Left Behind."

The resurrection of the dead does not occur until the heavens are destroyed with a great noise... Job 14;12, 2 Peter 3;10, Matt 24;35-42... all three of these passages show that the resurrection of the dead occurs when the heavens are destroyed... those martyred for not taking the mark are resurrected at the FIRST resurrection... Or, they might falsely believe that they could never be confronted with the mark of the beast and therefore just take it anyway, because, they are not supposed to be here when the mark gets rolled out, right

@chrishawkins2759 Pre-wrath at the sixth seal is post-trib. The “wrath” that the Church is not appointed unto is the “orge” wrath only per the original Greek. This wrath is only mentioned 6 times in Revelation and is always in a post-trib context (cf. 1 Thess. 5:9; Rev 6:16-17; 11:18; 14:10; 16:19; 19:15). Remember, Revelation is written Semitically, not chronologically. There is recapitulation throughout the book. John writes about the Second Coming of Christ after the great tribulation more than once (eg. Rev 6-7, Rev 10-11, Rev 14, Rev 19-20). There’s a reason why it’s called The Revelation of Jesus Christ.

As one who has studied the Greek NT for 35 years now, I thank you for this video. There's a few items we differ on, but basically calling 'skubelon' on the rapture is something we can agree on. All-too-often the rapture theory culminates in the Jewish temple being rebuilt and animal sacrifices being reinstated. This resumption of animal sacrifices goes against quite a bit of the book of Hebrews (among other places, including Jesus' words) AND, more importantly it minimises the sacrifice of Jesus, Himself. In other words, the Cross wasn't all that and a bag of chips. It will take resumption of the 'blood of bulls and goats' -- and is something most adherents to the rapture theory haven't thought through. So, again, thanks! I don't have to teach this again and again. I can simply direct folks here!

My man, the "rapture" is the resurrection of the dead in Christ no matter if you think its pre. mid or post trib. Its all the rapture/Reassertion of the Saints in Christ. Anytime someone starts telling you there is no "rapture" in the Bible you can stop listening because they are speaking absolute foolishness and illustrating they should not be discussing the topic. A serious and studied Bible student/teacher will ALWAYS say I don't believe in a pre or mid or post trib rapture. They will NEVER......NEVER say "There is no rapture" That is embarrassingly foolish. They deny their own resurrection.

@r.f.pennington746 And I've been for over 40 years now. This teacher claims dispensationalist won't teach out of Matt.24,or Luke 17,21. Thats not true,not at all. Jack Van Impe and Chuck Missler did. Many others have.Should I give him the benefit of the doubt that he's unaware, because it seems he's purposely trying to mislead people? Here's my teaching,as I studied under these guys,for decades,and others,and I am a Premillenial Dispensationalist. I've also been trained in Greek and Hebrew exegesis,and biblical hermeneutics. But here's the thing he missed.Luke 17:37,The apostles ask "WHERE" when Jesus says they were taken,or received(unto someone). WHERE were they taken? Jesus doesn't answer that. But those who say taken means killed,they're wrong. The apostles wouldn't ask 'where"if they understood it was killed. Jesus taught He could come at any time so we,the church,should be sober and alert,keeping watch over the signs that He taught in the gospels. This is the doctrine of imminency. And the apostles also taught this in the epistles. Matt.24:43,1 Thess.5:2, 2 Peter 3:10. Jesus can come like "a thief in the night". Jesus also commanded us to keep watch over all the signs of His coming in Matt.24. It wasn't a suggestion,it is an instruction. It wasn't just to know when the "season"was upon us,and who "the generation" that sees "ALL these things" ,will be. Matt.25,the parables being taught,are post text to Matt.24. So now,be the first Post Trib believer in over three decades of my experience debating the rapture, to answer this question,and the other points I'll bring. WHY should we watch over the signs of His coming? If we know when that time is,with certainty,why keep watch? In a post rib view,there is no imminency. There's no arguing this,it's right there plain as day. Jesus directly quoted this verse in Daniel 12. Do you think the Jews didn't know this prophecy? Well the Pharisees surely did. So why would Jesus teach that He could come at any time? Why should we "be sober and alert,keeping watch over the signs of His coming,please tell me? Now Luke 17:35 makes sense,get it. You can see why the apostles ask Jesus "where" are they taken! According to what the Jews knew from O.T. prophecy,the Messiah wasn't supposed to go anywhere.He was supposed to destroy Israel's enemies and set up God's kingdom rule and reign.This is "the Day Of The Lord',that all Jews in Jesus time were already aware of,prophesied many times. The Day Of The Lord is described in these prophecies,and Jesus does mention them in the Olivet discourse,in Matt 24:29-31. But there it is,Jesus quoted Daniel 12,and 1335 days after the "abomination of desolation, Jesus will return. Why watch for it? How can He come when nobody knows? Point 2,Jesus taught this in Matt.24:Matt.24:38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, SO ALSO WILL THE COMING of the Son of Man be. This prophecy was not fulfilled in 70 A.D. when Titus destroyed the temple. So,here's another scriptural contradiction,Rev.6:12 I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. 13 And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. 14 Then the sky [i]receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. 15 And the kings of the earth, the great men, ]the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, 16 and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! 17 For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?” See that? These people ARE aware that God's judgment is upon them,and they're terrified! And this is just the beginning of the tribulation period. Jesus taught He would return just BEFORE the judgment comes, and this has to be PRE Trib. Here's the last thing, in post trib,what event signifies the tribulation has begun? Give me an answer. In pretrib,it's the rapture that begins the tribulation period. And the rapture itself,IS a judgment being pronounced upon the world. Did the apostles know what the church was when Jesus taught "Upon this rock I shall build my church,and the gate of hell shall never prevail against it"? Now look up Revelation 13,5-8. There's another contradiction,one that breaks the promise Jesus made about the church. The Antichrist is given power and authority to conquer,or destroy,the "saints". Did Jesus teach "the gates of hell shall never prevail ...oh,but only until the Antichrist is revealed. No,he made a promise. These 'saints",or holy people in the Greek,are not the church. And in part,must be the 144 thousand from the 12 tribes of Israel. Now the post text of Matt.24 is Matt.25. Matt.25:“At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4 The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. 5 The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they ALL became drowsy and FELL ASLEEP. At What time?! The time just before the rapture! How can this be at the end of tribulation? The church is going to "fall asleep"? In Rev.6,at the sixth seal,the world knows their under God's judgment. So how can the churches not know?

These people ARE aware that God's judgment is upon them,and they're terrified! And this is just the beginning of the tribulation period. Jesus taught He would return just BEFORE the judgment comes, and this has to be PRE Trib. Here's another problem, in post trib,what event signifies the tribulation has begun? Give me an answer. In pretrib,it's the rapture that begins the tribulation period. And the rapture itself,IS a judgment being pronounced upon the world. Did the apostles know what the church was when Jesus taught "Upon this rock I shall build my church,and the gate of hell shall never prevail against it"?

‭‭Revelation 14:1-5 "Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads. And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps. And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth. These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they remained virgins. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among mankind and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb. No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless." 😊

I find it hard to belive the rapture is a thing when i know many people who are struggling persecution, pain and suffering for Christ. It's like saying, yeah, those people can suffer but us, nah, we are safe. I believed in the rapture but not anymore, not after seeing the utter suffering of some people just to hold on to Christ. Not now, but in the future that's what the whole church will experience no matter where we live, better not get lukewarm thinking there is an easy escape.

Did you listen to the whole thing? It seems you missed the solid arguments. There is only one time of resurrection where both the Holy and the wicked will be resurrected. 1 Thess 5 also refers to "coming in the clouds" as his "return". If a rapture is a "return", then we are looking for a second AND a third coming. Get it?

@@SaliasGaga Matt 24 is the most thorough telling of the return of Jesus, the second coming. Jesus said he would only return once to establish his kingdom. In Matt 24, he mentions clouds, the sky, a trumpet, a call of the archangel, a sign, and perhaps more I can't recall right now. EVERY "rapture" support passage mentions one of these events or the word "return". 1 Thess 4 and 5 are no different. He talks about meeting Jesus in the clouds using the Greek word used for going out to meet conquering leaders, then continues specifically mentioning it as Jesus' RETURN. Ignore that the number 5 starts a new chapter and realize that 1 Thess is a letter meant to be read continuously. chapter 5 is continuing what is said at the end of chapter 4. Therefore, if "coming in the clouds" refers to his return, then it is referring to the 2nd FINAL coming. Otherwise, a rapture would be a second coming (because it is referred to as a return) and Jesus' final coming would be a THIRD return. Does that make sense? In the end, it doesn't really matter. "Rapture or not" is one of the most useless debates in the church.
@vainwretch

Yes there is no rapture. But.......... Thessalonians is talking about the day of the Lord when fire comes out of the sky and God melts the planet with a fervent beat. People who are saved will be called away but this is after Jesus returns at the end of his 1,000 year reign on earth. The 1,000 years begins at the end of the tribulation. There are two resurrections of the dead . The first when Jesus returns at the end of the tribulation , these dead are only the martyrs who died for Christ because of their faith. The second is at the end of the 1,000 year reign. Jesus comes back at the end of the tribulation not the beginning. There is no rapture. You have to read mid way through Revelation 19 when Jesus returns and the first 6 verses of Revelation 20 which spell's out the chronological return of Jesus . All other verses about His return have to work with these verses in Revelation.

The whole point is that Christ comes only AFTER the tribulation...

@@schlix101 Jesus taught He could come at any time so we,the church,should be sober and alert,keeping watch over the signs that He taught in the gospels. WHY should we watch over the signs of His coming? If we know when that time is,with certainty,why keep watch? In a post rib view,there is no imminency. There's no arguing this,it's right there plain as day. Jesus directly quoted this verse in Daniel 12. Do you think the Jews didn't know the prophecies of Daniel? I can prove they did.Why would Jesus quote Daniel 12 in the first place? So why would Jesus teach that He could come at any time? WHY should we "be sober and alert,keeping watch over the signs of His coming,explain that? In Luke 17, 35,36,"One is taken (not killed). In the original Greek, from para lambano, to receive from,. The other left,from apo hiemi, left alone,sent away. Also not necessarily killed. One is received,or taken,one is left behind. Now this is an important little detail..Luke 17:37,The apostles ask "WHERE" when Jesus says they were taken,or received(unto someone). WHERE were they taken? Jesus doesn't answer that. For those who say this has to do with the invasion of Jerusalem,when Titus destroyed the temple, they're wrong. According to O.T. prophecy about the Messiah,was he supposed to leave,and then come back? No.In fact,alot of what Jesus was teaching just didn't make sense to them. So Luke 17:35 makes sense. Just how reasonable is it to believe that people will be living their lives,business as usual,and making plans for their future,when literally billions are dying?! Matt.25:“ is post text to what Jesus had just taught. So the parables are about how we are to apply what we know when we begin to see "ALL these things" coming together. 1.At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. You really believe the church will fall asleep during the tribulation? In Rev.13,the Antichrist is killing Christian all over the world. But the church falls asleep!!!? These saints are not the church. In part,they are the 144000 from the 12 tribes of Israel. And didn't Jesus promise the gates of hell will never prevail against the church. He didn't say up until the tribulation,then the Antichrist will destroy the church.And when John prophesy's this in Rev.13, he doesn't say persecute the saints, he writes conquers or destroys. That's different.

The man says, "The rapture is not in the bible." This means that he does not read the Bible, it means that he is an atheist or a member of a non-Christian religion. And maybe he is an Adventist, because they do not believe in the Rapture of the Church before the Wrath of God. Whoever has a Bible should read 1 Thess 4:13-18. and Rev. 3:10 I never understood how some people dare to deny the words of God written in the Bible so "coldly". A terrible fate awaits them in eternal fire.

Unfortunately, this video and his scripture references missed the entire context of 1 Thess. 4 going into Chapter 5. He mentioned nothing about the word “caught up” which is the word harpazo which in the LV translates resurrection or rapture. The concept of the rapture speaks specifically to an event that precedes the 7 year tribulation. Context is king! When can’t cherry pick around the text but must confront it, literally, head on. Great graphics and explanation of his interpretation, but it was missed.

Yes! Since it is about the rapture you would expect him to mention "harpazo" right? Anyway, Jesus said we must watch and pray to escape all what is about to happen (Luke 21:36) Another scripture he refrains from mentioning and even Rev 5:8-10, who is the 24 elders redeemed from the earth from every tongue, kindred and nation before opening of the first seal. They say the church isn't here after Revelation chapter 3 or 4, or not mention at all in Rev. while ignoring the two candlesticks/churches and the two witnesses in Rev. 11 and also with that in Zachariah chapter 4 with the candlestick/church still here on earth during the tribulation with the two olive trees/two witnesses. . Even if the church wasn't mention in Revelation, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence...And apparently there are no saints in the pre rapture club, there is in Revelation. There isn't any verse in Revelation that removes the church before the second coming in Rev. nor is the church mention returning with Christ. The church isn't mention in Revelation or after chapter 3... Well neither is the antichrist for that matter...
