I approached listening to this sermon with a great respect of Skip's teachings. His sermons have become some of my favorites and I am regularly amazed by the depth of his biblical knowledge. When I saw there was a sermon on the rapture, I was very curious to hear his position on it. As I began to listen, it became clear quickly that his position was a pre-tribulation view. One thing that was said 6:12 into the sermon is that he will come for the church and that event will have no signs that precede it. I don't understand how it could be said that that event (the rapture) will have no signs. When we look at Matthew 24 says about the rapture it seems clear to me that there will be a very clear sign. See below: Matthew 24:29-31 "But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun, will be darkened, and the moon will not give it's light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. AND THEN the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other." This passage is clearly talking about the rapture and it has specific events (signs) that precede it. The sun and moon are darkened and the stars fall from the sky. Somewhere else that it talks about the sun and moon being darkened and stars falling from the sky is in Revelation 6:12-13 when the sixth seal is talked about. In fact, when you look at the things that Jesus says will happen in Matthew 24; He is speaking about the same events in the same order as the events that take place in the seals from Revelation 6. If it can be shown from the passage above that the rapture happens after the sun and moon are darkened and that that event is the sixth seal of the seals that precede the trumpets and bowls of wrath in Revelations; how could it be that the rapture would be a pre-tribulation rapture? It seems to me that it would be pre-wrath rapture. I believe that the seals are what should be considered the tribulation and the trumpets/vials should be considered God's wrath. Tribulation and God's wrath are not the same thing. When you compare them, the seals with the exception of the sixth seal are all events that are tied directly to the anti-christ and lead up to the persecution of God's people. The sixth seal is the means by which God steps in and cuts the persecution short. From that point on, the wrath of God begins to be poured out on the earth immediately after His church is raptured. All of the events that happen from that point are undeniably supernatural God ordained events. I'm sure that many may disagree with me, but this is what I believe makes the most sense. By believing that we would be raptured out of the world before any of the events of the seals, trumpets, & vials/bowls happen; it becomes very difficult to not be complacent about them. If we may very possibly be going through the events of the tribulation (seals 1-6), I would certainly not want to be unprepared to do so. We should be praying that God will prepare us to suffer for the sake of our King. When I think about what it would be like to deny the mark of the beast; I realize that in that moment I will not only be saying no to the mark, but also to my ability to pay bills, buy groceries, and pay the mortgage. That single decision will essentially make my family homeless and it would be one of the most terrifying decisions I would ever have to make. I do not want to do that on sheer will and determination. I believe that my flesh will fail the test and I will only be able to pass it with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Excellent point about the thessalonians being pre trib because they were perplexed, I never thought about that. Makes sense.

You are conflating tribulation (thlipsis) and wrath (orge). “You will have tribulation.” “You are not appointed to wrath.”

I love how you laugh and joke when your teaching. This is what the gospel is, happiness, the GOOD NEWS of Christ Jesus 🙏.

For the sake of the crown given to those who went through the tribulation, May the will of God be done, not my will.

Since there's good evidence on both sides of the rapture issue. I will pray to be raptured before all the problems, but be prepared in case I'm not. Our salvation is not dependent on what side we take on the rapture issue.

As you correctly stated this concept of the church's rapture is the most outlandish one found in the scriptures. I have been vacillating to and from this since both the proponents and opponents have persuasive arguments. Once again, after listening to you today, I am convinced that we are going to be raptured, not because you pointed out anything new I had not heard before, but the way you put it across with confidence oozing. I had a dream of the rapture when I was 6 years old. Probably before I had even heard about it. I dreamt I was on a porch with my grandmother and cousins. It was raining. The rain stopped and I looked up to see the clouds part. I saw a man coming thru the clouds and I said- look that’s Jesus. And he reached out to take my hand. I was transported to a beautiful place with a huge waterfall. We came down to sit on a rock at the edge at the top of the waterfall. Hundreds of children came Running up to us and wanted to hug Jesus. He hugged everyone and was laughing . It was such a joyous moment. Then I woke up. I feel it was a gift to me so that I would always hold him close to me. I’m 55 now and I always have. I’m can’t wait for the real rapture to happen. Thank you for this hopeful message. I used to argue with those online not believing in the rapture or had other views than my own. Then I read 2nd Timothy and now I just pray for them . A lot to f people will be caught off guard , I’m afraid.

Hey Pastor Skip. I know you quoted those church fathers as supporting the pre-trib rapture but are you aware that every one of those church fathers also said the church would face the anti-Christ? So are you unaware of that or purposely not telling people? Especially Iraneaus. I’ve read all his writings and there is no mistaking his thoughts.

V17 and we will be with the Lord forever. This was omitted. We are now in the thousabd years.

I don't fear wars or rumors of war because I no I will be hidden from judgement, but on earth. While the unrepentant wicked that try to flee judgement will meet greater danger ahead.

Pre-tribulation teachers are deceiving the body of Christ by taking away from the Revelation of Jesus Christ. Rev. 22:19 Our Jesus places the events of the beginning of sorrows, followed by the great tribulation, followed by the resurrection of believers, followed by the beginning of the Day of the Lord inside the future 70th Week of Daniel!

Can you provide all the quotes regarding early church thoughts about pre-Trib rapture in addition to three during your sermon?

Saying there is a rapture is an unbiblical truth. There is not one scripture to support this. Jesus Christ is coming back once! His trumpet will sound and we will see him in all is glory. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is lord.

What about the words in Corinthians where it says “ at the twinkling of a eye at the “last Trump”. Could you please explain those last 2 words for me because you did not put any emphasis on those words.

Pastor Skip, The Apostle Paul has clearly stated whem the Rapture would occur in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4: "1 Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, regarding the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, 2 that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit, or a message, or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. 3 No one is to deceive you in any way! For it will not come unless the [d]apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above [e]every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God. You are amazing teacher of the Bible, thank you. What I would like to know what if your cremated? Your whole body will not be laying in the coffin, It will be in very small pieces, ash. Can God take that and remember what you did look like? So when the dead in Christ arise to be in the presence of the Lord he can some how make us new in how we were before death. I also read that 4 volume book-set by the professor Emeritus Keneth Wuest when in my 20s and just starting to seriously study the Greek New testament. there is the 3rd book called "Untranslatble riches of the Greek New Testament" in regard to the Rapture, where it appears the Greek defines the word Parusia as a visting king is arriving to a city and some of its inhabitants comes out to meet him and they turn around and accompany Him back to the city. What I understood was that the Russurection and the Rapture is one and the same event. both occuring on the same day. the picture is that of Jesus coming from heaven and the dead in Christ and those who are a live are caught up to meet Him in the air. and so shall they ever be with the Lord, Amen. Selah!

Luke 21:8 counts out an imminent return. John Woolvard was the first person in the 1800's to separate Jesus coming into 2 events, no prior historian taught this, and neither does the Bible....Matt 24 would say "And then AGAIN, Shall you see the Son of man coming" Scripture doesn't even hint at a pre-trib rapture, the Bible says Anti-Christ comes fist, not Jesus, and Jesus warned 9x in Matt 24 not to believe anyone that says they're him before the tribulation! Why warn us if we're not here??

What does an understanding of the New Covenant do to the Pretrib Rapture doctrine? Since the New Covenant is “everlasting” in Hebrews 13:20, how is the New Covenant Church age going to end seven years before the Second Coming of Christ? Why would anyone think God is going back to the Old Covenant system now made “obsolete” by the New Covenant in Hebrews 8:13? We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24. Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, modern Dispensational Theology falls apart, and the pretrib removal of the Church falls with it. The Capitol "C" Church, as we use the word today, is not found in the entire Book of Revelation. Individual church bodies in ancient Asia Minor are found. In Revelation 12:11 we find those under the blood of the Lamb. A person cannot be under the blood of the Lamb and not be a part of the New Covenant Church of Jesus Christ. Verse 12 of this passage proves at least part of the tribulation period is the wrath of Satan upon the people of God. Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Rev 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. "It may come as a surprise to most pre-Trib prophecy students that the post-Trib position (in its primitive form) is the oldest point of view." A mind excersise for you. Can you answer this? How are these 2 events different? 1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Revelation 1:7 Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen If the rapture is a secret event, then are we meeting him in the clouds twice??? my impression is the rapture is in such a way that unbelievers won’t see Christ but believers will. Yet, these two scriptures talk about similar actions. Yet we know this portion in revelation is the second coming. How are they different? Can anyone exegetically seperate them?

I prefer to believe the pre trib rapture but the reality is there is scripture that could point towards pre or post. None of us actually knows conclusively.

The rapture of the church out of the great tribulation according to Jesus, will take place between the sixth and seventh seals in Rev. 7:9-17, no man knows the exact day or hour!

Why do preachers use 1 Thessalonians 4: 16-17 to defend the specious doctrine of a rapture to heaven? Does that passage say anything about going to heaven? It does not. _16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord._

Oh boy this guy should write his own bible. He doesn't like the one we have. No where does Paul say the church will "be gathered to Himself before the tribulation". Paul says exactly the opposite. 2 thess 2.

Ecclesiastes 9 (Pay attn. to the SUN ) 5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. 6Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun. (This tells us that all we have is gone except forthe spirit, breath of life. This is our SIMM chip. It holds all our info, what we have seen, done, smelled, tasted, family and friends & sins. God holds it.)

I just want to share some lthing with the group that puts this together that could expand viewership. When people hear the beginning of this, it sounds like an old 1940s radio program and you're about to hear a Southern Baptist minister scream. Now that may draw warmth for some, but unfortunately, it turns many non-Christians off and I find it very hard to get them pass just the opening. Please consider a new marketing program for this. I have 35 years in business and marketing and this needs a little help.

My Mother and Father were Cremated-so there is no bodies to Resurrect; Does this mean that they will be Raptured without bodies? (My father’s Ashes were buried in the box, but my Mother’s Ashes were scattered all over a large area....just like you Grandmother’s Ashes were scattered in the Pacific Ocean). Please give us an answer to this question; up until now, I have always believed that ALL “Believers” SOULS will be Raptured together-to take ALL of this Positive Energy of LOVING SOULS off Earth, before Tribulation, so their Energy won’t be left with the Wicked Destructive Hate Energy of the Devil.

Phillipians 1:6: 6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ So the work in us is to be completed when the day of Christ happens, which has to be the rapture. If its talking about the second coming then the rapture hasn’t happened yet because when the rapture happens we receive our resurrection bodies and the work will be completed. Compare 2 thes 2: 1 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. Thew day of Christ ( rapture) won’t happen UNTIL falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition If the falling away is the rapture how does the sentencesmake sense. The rapture won’t happen until the rapture happens first?

does Christ bring the souls / spirits of NT believers with Him during the rapture to be united with their bodies from the grave? what about OT saints? did Christ take their souls / spirits to heaven during His Ascension? are they awaiting for this same rapture event to be resurrected? will Christ bring the OT souls / spirits with Him to be united with their bodies too? where are their bodies? in ABR bosom still or did their glorified bodies rise with Christ during His ascension? is ABR bosom empty as of Ascension? which trumpet is Paul referring to? is it part of a Jewish feast?

The Bible does NOT use the word "rapture", which comes "directly or via French from medieval Latin raptura “seizure,” from Latin raptus".(Microsoft Encarta Reference Library 2005) However, the Bible does speak of the resurrection, or a bringing back to life those who have died, literally "a standing up" again in life, as at John 5:28, 29 and Revelation 20:13. Here, Jesus says: "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs (or in God's memory) will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection ("resurrection", Greek anastasis, meaning "a standing up again, i.e. from death", used 42 times in the Bible) of life (or everlasting life), and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment (or adverse judgment that means a person's everlasting death, and NOT eternal torment in "hell")." The word "rapture" is "coined" out of or twisted out of the Greek word harpazo at 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17, that states: "For this is what we tell you by Jehovah’s word ("Jehovah", God's name, see Isa 12:2, KJV), that we the living who survive to the presence of the Lord will in no way precede those who have fallen asleep in death;" "because the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel’s voice (as Michael the archangel) and with God’s trumpet, and those who are dead in union with Christ will rise first (see Matt 24:31). After expelling a demon from a speechless and blind man and the Pharisees falsely claimed that Jesus could only do this because he was "Beelzebub, ruler of the demons", Jesus now says at Matthew 12:28, 29: "But if it is by means of God’s spirit that I expel the demons, the Kingdom of God has really overtaken you. Or how can anyone invade the house of a strong man and seize ("seize", Greek harpazo) his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man ? Only then can he plunder his house." I think you are conflating all those names you mentioned as being the same day or period of time. The Day of the Lord is not the same as the tribulation. We are saved from the Day of wrath but not the week of tribulation. (The seventieth week of Daniel) Revelation 7 is another passage on the rapture and it occurs towards the end of the week after the sixth seal. I was hopeful that you would say something convincing about the pretrib position, but once again I think the errors of your position are just too insurmountable. The tribulation is not the Day of the Lord when judgement is poured out. In judgement all that is high is brought low. The tribulation is just the opposite...it is the culmination of man's pride and rebellion at its high point. Therefore the tribulation can't be The Day!

Assuming the 'Theory' of the Rapture of the Church is true what does it matter IF your not 'ready'? The rainbow represents Jesus. It is the sign of the Son of Man spoken of in Matt 24. The angel is the archangel, probably Michael. Jesus issues the loud command with the voice of the archangel. The loud shout like the roar of a lion is the announcement of the coming of the Lion of the tribe of Judah mentioned in Chapter 5 of the Book of Revelation. Now let’s discuss the timing of the rapture. Rev 10 and Rev 11:1-13 both finish just before the end of the second woe, which occurs in Rev 11:14. Immediately after this the seventh angel sounds his trumpet in Rev 11:15. This is the last trumpet and the trumpet call of God. Let me reinforce that statement. Look at Rev 10:6-7 (6 And he swore by him who lives for ever and ever, who created the heavens and all that is in them, the earth and all that is in it, and the sea and all that is in it, and said, “There will be no more delay! 7 But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets.”). Now what is the mystery of God? The mystery of God is Jesus Christ - Col 2:2 (2 My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ,). The mystery of God will be accomplished = Jesus Christ will return. Let me make some further observations that we can discuss in detail at a later time: Rev 10 could also fit between Rev 6:14 and Rev 6:15. Rev 14:6-13 are fulfilled in Rev 11:13-14 Rev 11:13 is the salvation of the Jewish people. It is the opposite of 1 Kings 19:18. Rev 11:14 and all the destruction therein is the result of Rev 17:15-17. Note that in Rev 11:17 The Father is referred to as the One who is and who was, whereas in Rev 1:4 he is referred to as who is, and who was, and who is to come. Repeat after me a thousand times. "The tribulation is not the wrath of God, it is the wrath of Satan against the church". Do you pre trib teachers really believe God is going to kill the christians? Well here you go, if the tribulation is the wrath of God.......... then God is killing Christians. Do you see how ridiculous that view is? A quiz for all the pre tribbers. Mat 24 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. Is this the wrath of God? Fifth Seal: The Cry of the Martyrs 9 When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” 11 Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed. Is this the wrath of God? Rev 17 I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement. Is this the wrath of God? Rev 13 7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. Is this the wrath of God? Rev 13 15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. Is this the wrath of God? Rev 20 Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. Is this the wrath of God? Pre tribbers can't seem to tell the difference between the wrath of God and the wrath of Satan. Over half the church is deceived by these teachers.

Check out Allen Nolan: Olivet Discourse. His case is SOLID pre-trib. BTW, What you believe about the Rapture is NOT a salvation issue. None of us know the exact scenario that will occur. But after we are in the “next realm”, (Millennium), we will be able to look back & see that all scriptures described end time events perfectly.

In Revelation 7:16, it says that, "They shall HUNGER NO MORE, NEITHER THIRST ANY MORE; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. 17 For THE LAMB which is in the midst of the throne SHALL FEED THEM, and SHALL LEAD THEM unto LIVING FOUNTAINS OF WATERS:...". The Bible mentions the word "feast" and Jesus also said in Luke 22:28-34, “You are those who have stood by Me in My trials; and just as My Father has granted Me a kingdom, I grant you that you may EAT and DRINK at My table in My kingdom, and you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel." I want to clarify if our resurrected body or glorified body or new immortal body, should still be in need of food and water? Thank you, sir.
