i've been lisening to the rare occasions for a couple years and i absolutely love these few new songs and i feel like this lyric video gives the exact same vibe as i would think of when i listen to it! love it :)

I have a theory, this song is a beautiful love story about an old couple, (I.E the couple from up) growing together, slowly developing their relationship, working through their problems, and this is what they're both thinking as they die. "How do I say what I want? Where do I always go wrong?" These lines imply the couple reflecting on their past mistakes. "And when the dove sings," Doves are used to imply purity and innocence, like the purity and acceptance the old couple has for the things they've done in life, together and apart. "You offer the rhyme that turns the requiem rosy." A "Requiem" is, as defined by Oxford languages, "A Mass for the repose of the souls of the dead." Sort of like a respectful gathering honoring a dead person via music. It can also be defined as "An act or token of remembrance." Yet again, honoring a dead person. "Through the still forest." Still like a dead person, forest shots are often used in pieces of media when a person dies. "And in a heartbeat." Heartbeats can be used to signify themes of life and death. Simple.
